Special Containment Procedures: SCP-8008 is unable to be contained on earth with current modern-technology and minimal data concluded via the SCP’s size. SCP-8008’s containment is theorized to be performed via electro-magenetic fields that would subsequentially allow the SCP to be lowered into earth’s upper atmosphere and lower orbit, it will then be lowered to the ground. Such theoretical research is still being tested and worked on due to astronomical data retrieved at the current state. Until such technological-advancements prevail, Mobile Task Force Omicron-12 (Planet Killers) will be tasked on maintaining the asteroid and keeping it safe.
In an event of a orbital malfunction, all civilians within a radius of ██km range must be evacuated immediately. It is unclear how SCP-8008 will cause an impact on earth, however due to gravity and where it’s currently orbiting, it is recommended as safety-precaution that SCP-8008 must be terminated and destroyed as soon as possible. Description:
SCP-8008 commonly addressed as “Oumuamua” and a formal name of “1I/2017 U1” is an asteroid estimated to be around 100 m–1,000 m × 35 m–167 m × 35 m–167 m. It has a dark red color, similar to objects in the outer Solar System. SCP-8008 showed no signs of a comet coma despite its close approach to the Sun, but underwent non-gravitational acceleration. While a strengthless object would require it to be of a density similar to rocky asteroids, a small amount of internal strength similar to icy comets would allow a relatively low density.
After interception with earth’s radio frequency, discovered by Researcher ████████, has conducted studies and examination through telescopes of the ██████████████ observatory. SCP-8008 appears to be a oddly shaped asteroid that appears to be extremely elongated, it’s rotation rate is similar to other asteroids within the Solar-System. The object was confirmed to be a disintegrated interstellar comet. As presumably the asteroid took █████years for it to pass by the solar-system.
NASA has signed an agreement with the SCP-Foundation to allow further research as proposed by the government. It was mistakenly believed the asteroid has exited the solar-system due to its tremendous speed, however, it wasn’t till the year 20██ where SCP-8008 was successfully to be contained in earth’s orbit from strong electromagnetic pulling. Because of its low reflectancy, the SCP is concealed and blended in with the atmosphere.
