SCP-XXXX in containment.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP XXXX is to be kept in a room with one entrance at all times with a single security guard posted at the front door. Any guards posted are to not have consumed any samples of SCP XXXX within the last 72 hours before their shift. Clearance level 0.
Guards are to be rotated once every 3 months or as needed. Anyone may access SCP XXXX once per week at maximum, taking at most a single sample 100cm by 100cm by 10cm in size. SCP XXXX is allowed to be used as a restricted substitute to SCP 999 if SCP 999 is not on site.
Description:
SCP XXXX is a platter of grey/white matter of unknown composition that, when consumed, takes the form of the food item most desirable to the subject. The plate will automatically regenerate samples of SCP XXXX when pieces are removed from it. The material is spongy in texture, and grey in color, and can be easily separated by a butter knife.
Despite having a nondescript appearance, SCP XXXX seems to naturally draw the attention of anyone within a 10-meter radius and is generally understood as being edible by subjects despite its appearance suggesting that it isn’t. If a subject eats more than 20 samples of SCP XXXX within a period of 24 hours, they are shown to have an increase in brain activity, before their brain activity drops to zero. After one hour of this occurring, if no attempts were made to revive the subject, they will be deceased.
The effects of SCP XXXX include instant calmness, a state of near euphoria for a period of 24 hours, prevention of hunger for a period of 24 hours, an increased rate of healing, resistance to injury, mild addiction, euphoria, and when eaten in excess, weakened immune system, reduction in mental capability, Headaches, Convulsions, seizures, Heart disease, severe Mood swings, Loss of smell, nosebleeds, runny nose, trouble swallowing and death.
These effects can make it somewhat useful for field use under extreme circumstances, however, the approval of the 05 council is still pending. SCP XXXX was recovered from the MCF after several witnesses saw MCF workers picking the samples of SCP XXXX off a plate and the samples regenerating instantly. A raid was promptly carried out by MTF Pi-1 (City Slickers)1 where the MCF attempted to retain control of SCP XXXX with simple handguns, mildly injuring some MTF personnel, however after a period of 2 hours, SCP XXXX and SCP ████2 were taken into foundation custody.
Witnesses and those who claimed to have knowledge pertaining to SCP XXXX and SCP ████ were brought in for questioning and administered Class-A amnestics. SCP XXXX was originally discovered some 2000 years prior to the MCF’s known usage of it in an attempt to provide temporary relief to disaster victims. SCP XXXX was created by an unknown cult located on top of Mount Olympus in Ancient Greece, temporarily given the designation of GoI XXXX (Followers of Zeus) until further identification can be obtained. SCP XXXX was reportedly acquired by the MCF from the Greeks, who were using SCP XXXX as a way to ignore problems, in 1020. Then in 2018 SCP XXXX was acquired by the SCP foundation.
Testing log:
Test XXXX - 4/25/2019
Subject:
D-2748, a 25-year-old caucasian male charged with 13 accounts of rape, drug usage, and 2 accounts of resisting arrest.
Procedure:
D-2748 was provided a single sample of SCP XXXX and told to consume it and stay in his cell.
Results:
D-2748 was observed to have heightened dopamine release within their brain for 24 hours and didn't respond adversely to anything, even when a gun was held to his head and he was told this was his last day alive. D-2748 reported tasting his grandma’s cookies fresh from the oven even though his grandmother had been dead for nearly 15 years. D-2748 then broke into tears of reported happiness while remembering his Grandmother and all she reportedly did for him.
Analysis:
SCP XXXX appears to create an environment of calm for any who consumes it, mitigating any threat to a minor annoyance in the subject's eye. in a controlled environment, this is not very notable, however in the field, this effect may be a serious detriment to personnel. SCP XXXX also replicates the taste of comfort food which a subject greatly desires.
Test XXXX - 4/30/2019
Subject:
D-3940, a 30-year-old female of African descent charged with first-degree murder, unlawful ownership of an automatic weapon, and third-degree murder.
Procedure:
D-3940 was given a dose of adrenaline before being given a sample of SCP XXXX and being locked in her cell for 25 hours
Results:
Immediately after consumption of SCP XXXX, biometric monitoring devices showed a drop in adrenaline in D-3940 down to what could be called normal levels. D-3940 reported tasting her grandfather’s steak and mashed potatoes. 24 hours after consumption of SCP XXXX, D-3940 began to state that she felt "a little hungry", which over the next hour escalated to the point where D-3940 was considering if consuming her flesh would calm the hunger. The test was immediately terminated at this point and D-3940 was fed a small banquet.
Analysis:
SCP XXXX appears to create an immediate drop in adrenaline and a severe delay in the hunger response to lack of food.

After a period of two hours, D-9398 began exhibiting symptoms similar to drug abuse, including a weakened immune system, irritability, sensitivity, and a reduced mental capacity. After a period of 5 hours, D-9398 exhibited symptoms of severe drug abuse including Headaches, Convulsions, seizure, severe Mood swings, Loss of smell, nosebleeds, runny nose, and trouble swallowing. At 7 hours and 30 minutes into the test, D-9398 died, autopsy shows that the death of the subject was the same as that of a drug overdose.
