SCP-XXX at minimal growth
Special Containment Procedure:SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 10x10x10 inch box, in completely concentrated oxygen, with a CO2 filtration system in place, to prevent exposure. SCP-XXXX exposure to CO2 requires permission from 1 level 4 clearance personnel. If SCP-XXXX is uncontained during a containment breach, SCP-XXXX’s chamber will be sealed off until the authorization of preparation of containment is approved. Due to this, SCP-XXXX’s chamber must be air tight to prevent a facility wide threat of a breach.
Description:SCP-XXXX as of the time of writing is a 7 centimeter long healthy carrot. SCP-XXXX is capable of growing a seemingly unlimited amount, as no end in growth has been recorded. SCP-XXXX will grow 2 meters per minute, if not contained in it’s containment chamber. If exposed to CO2 the expansion takes place immediately, requiring it to be quickly covered in an oxygenated sealed box/portable containment device. should a breach occur, 04 teams are advised to stay on site to prevent a further breach and should take all possible action to prevent the uncontrolled growth of the object. if there is a way to prevent the growth of SCP-XXXX, via means of cutting, slicing, or grinding of the object, it has yet to be found, as growth of the object is imminent once started. The only way to stop and shrink it back down to it’s minimal size, is to expose it to oxygen, with absolutely 0% CO2. After analyzing a sample of SCP-XXXX it was concluded that SCP-XXXX has the same taste, smell, and texture as a common carrot with the same trace amounts of Vitamin A a normal carrot would have. The size of it doesn’t seem to dictate an increase, or decrease of the amount of Vitamin A it contains.
Addendum 634-1:All though SCP-XXXX can be used as "an infinite source of food" tests involving SCP-XXXX's abnormal growth abilities have a high chance of causing damage and a possible containment breach
Addendum: Test logs
Test log 684-A
Intent: Replicating SCP-XXXX by using its seed
Procedure: SCP-XXXX's seed,7 ph soil, a soil bed and UV light
Observations: A seed of SCP-XXXX was extracted and placed in the soil, after 80 days the seed was transformed into a malnourished and wilted carrot, the reason for this event remains unknownAnalysis: SCP-XXXX cannot be replicated by using it's seed
Conclusions:SCP-XXXX's seed are incapable to grow to maturity
