Item #: SCP-4210
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: A MTF is to be dispatched to SCP-4210, extract all instances of SCP-4210-1, and take them back to Site 62 on a daily basis. Once in the Site, the SCP-4210-1 instances are to be stored in a guarded Safe-class containment locker.
If an unexpected or former instance of SCP-4210-2 is discovered, the entity is to be taken in for questioning or neutralized if that is impossible. If an expected instance or former instance of SCP-4210-2 is discovered, it must be continuously monitored for change in behaviour.
Description: SCP-4210 is an area in Xinjiang, China. This area and its contents appear slightly translucent. The area in which this site's anomalous properties have an effect is a dome, outside of which all anomalous effects do not occur. All personnel entering the site have reported feeling a strong sense of unease while in it. SCP-4120 produces instances of SCP-4120-1 every hour. The anomaly has been contained within Site 62 and is to be constantly guarded by trained, armed personnel.
SCP-4210-1 is a slightly translucent dark cube composed of an unidentified stone-like substance. SCP-4210-1 is able to negate gravity. An instance of SCP-4210-1 does nothing by itself. If exposed to an entity willing to somehow use it, the cube will be absorbed into said entity. An entity that has absorbed an instance of SCP-4210-1 will become invisible, intangible, and able to negate gravity. An entity that has absorbed an instance of SCP-4210-1 is to be considered an instance of SCP-4210-2. The effects that SCP-4210-1 have on instances of SCP-4210-2 only last for a limited amount of time, observed to be anywhere between two to five minutes. Instances of SCP-4210-1 are destroyed upon absorption.
Entities that have absorbed an instance of SCP-4210-1 are to be considered an instance of SCP-4210-2. Entities that have been affected by SCP-4210-1 but are not currently affected by it are to be considered a former instance of SCP-4210-2 and continuously monitored for unexpected behaviour.
Addendum 4210-1: SCP-4210-1 does not follow the traditional laws of existence and composition. Instead of being composed of particles, it is instead composed of ██████.
Addendum 4210-2: Former instances of SCP-4210-2 do not report or show any behavioral changes following the absorption of an instance of SCP-4210-1.
Addendum 4210-3: Investigation into using instances of SCP-4210-1 to ease the containment of other SCPs and covert ops missions has been started. If these experiments do prove SCP-4210 to be a useful tool to this end, the SCP shall be reclassified to Thaumiel.
Interviewed: D-Class Personnel #9071
Interviewer: Dr. ██████
Foreword: Interview with D-Class Personnel #9071. Subject has previously absorbed an instance of SCP-4210-1, and has not shown signs of influence by said SCP for the last 35 hours.
