Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is to be kept inside a secure video storage unit at the media archive of Site ██. When in use, SCP-xxxx should not be removed from its casing or exposed to any strong magnetic sources. A VHS player and an analog television has been provided in Observation Theatre 06 at Site ██, as well as video equipment to record viewings. Due to the graphic and disturbing nature of the contents of SCP-xxxx, viewer discretion is advised.
Description: SCP-xxxx is a series of 5 standard VHS cassettes containing a total of 8 hours 37 minutes of footage. Each cassette is labelled with an adhesive sticker marked with ball-point pen (see addenda for individual labels). Laboratory analysis indicates that all cassettes are made of ordinary material, and serial numbers correspond with home cassette tapes produced in September of 1981. Video watermarks within the footage date the recordings spanning a period between 09/22/1981 and 03/12/1991.
SCP-xxxx contains a total of 18 separate recordings apparently made with a portable video recorder by Kevin Fidalgo, a serial killer active in the United States between 1979 and 1991 known by the moniker "The North Valley Ripper". Each recording records the interactions between Fidalgo and a victim, which apparently take place in an extraterrestrial location. Video analysis has confirmed the videos are not faked or altered in any way, and star field mapping and analysis of visible near-orbit satellites have failed to provide a match to any known local or extra-solar bodies.
Addendum: SCP-xxxx was obtained following the death of Kevin Fidalgo, who was killed in a shoot-out with police during an attempted sting operation.

Item #: SCP-xxxx
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is to be kept in a secure hangar at Site-98, guarded by four security staff. Access to the hangar is restricted to staff assigned to Project Looking Glass. Due to high levels of radiation within SCP-xxxx, staff should wear the appropriate protective gear at all times.
Description: SCP-xxxx is the recovered wreckage and internal contents of a large aerospace vehicle, which appears to be a duplicate of the Foundation's prototype vessel IDV-██1.
SCP-xxxx has sustained significant structural damage, apparently from complications relating to a non-optimal shutdown of its Lorentzian wormhole drive and a subsequent high-speed impact. The main fuselage is largely intact, with exceptions as noted below:
- The primary reactor is compromised, irradiating the engineering section as well as Decks 4 and 5
- The ventral hull has been damaged by molten material originating from the compromised reactor
- The forward section is buckled, presumably from high-speed impact following the loss of reactor power
- The dorsal communications array is missing
- The rear thrusters are heavily damaged, apparently from maintaining an inadvisable level of thrust for a prolonged duration
Sections of the interior of SCP-xxxx display extreme warping and displacement commensurate with loss of molecular cohesion during wormhole travel. As such, materials from certain areas of the vessel have become fused with each other. In places the interior bulkheads are composed of a hybrid material containing both aluminium-scandium alloy (used in 80% of the construction of the vessel) and human DNA.
Following initial recovery there were a number of reports of vocalisations emanating from the larger masses of DNA-fused bulkheads. Such vocalisation ceased after 48 hours, as did cellular activity within the bulkheads.
Due to the high levels of radiation within SCP-xxxx the organic areas of the ship have been observed to not decay, despite the lack of cellular activity.
To date 23 Foundation identification cards have been recovered from within SCP-xxxx. 21 of these cards have been identified as belonging to known Foundation members. The remaining 2 cards contain details for members of civilian agencies who have been on Foundation recruitment lists but never acted upon. Additionally, 8 jumpsuits of the kind usually issued to D-Class personnel were also recovered.
Current attempts to recover data from the central computer core of SCP-xxxx have been unsuccessful due to the high levels of radiation on Deck 4 and damage to the computer core itself.
An investigation into the information leak which allowed an outside agency to construct a duplicate of IDV-██ is being carried out by MTF Rho-63 (“Audit Trail”). Following the conclusion of their investigation, MTF Rho-63 have been called off and containment procedures have been updated.
Discovery: On 05/11/2019 sensors at Site-98 detected a Lorentzian wormhole collapse above the Persian Gulf. Reconnaissance teams were dispatched and on 05/15/2019 discovered SCP-xxxx partially buried in the Rub' al Khali, Saudi Arabia.

Anomalous events: Four distinct anomalous events have been recorded within SCP-xxxx, which have been designated SCP-xxxx-1 to -4. These events occur at seemingly random intervals at various locations inside the vessel. The presence of individuals within SCP-xxxx increases the likelihood of an event occurring by 35%.
During SCP-xxxx-1, voices can be detected within SCP-xxxx. These voices have been identified as belonging to three distinct individuals (identified as SCP-xxxx-1a, SCP-xxxx-1b, and SCP-xxxx-1c). These individuals appear unaware of observers, and are unable to interact with the environment, however they are aware of the damaged state of SCP-xxxx and are highly distressed by it and their own current incorporeal state. Since first observation the apparent mental states of SCP-xxxx-1b and SCP-xxxx-1c have degraded significantly. SCP-xxxx-1a seems to exhibit signs of increasing stress and PTSD. Attempted interaction with SCP-xxxx-1a, 1b, and 1c have been unsuccessful to date. To date a total of 11 hours of dialogue have been recorded during incidents of SCP-xxxx-1. For a full transcription, contact Dr. Greyling. An excerpt can be found in Addendum A.
This event is limited to Deck 2, Section 3 (mess hall). During SCP-xxxx-2, pained vocalisations can be heard in the vicinity of the large mass of DNA-fused bulkhead that makes up the anterior wall of the mess hall. Vocalisations are mostly unintelligible, and indicate a significant loss of higher brain functions. Although distorted, voice matching has identified the vocalisations as belonging to Chief Engineer █████ Markham, who is currently stationed at Dimensional Research Area-16. Attempted interaction with SCP-xxxx-2 has been unsuccessful to date.
During SCP-xxxx-3, an incorporeal apparition manifests, which has been designated SCP-xxxx-3a. SCP-xxxx-3a appears to be ██████ Washington, a level 2 security officer, who is currently assigned to Dimensional Research Area-16. SCP-xxxx-3a is sapient and aware of its incorporeal state, but is unable to communicate on a frequency detectable either audibly or by any equipment currently available to the Foundation. Nonverbal communication has been established with SCP-xxxx-3a through the use of a tablet and projector, and reading SCP-xxxx-3a's lips to transcribe its responses. Excerpts of communication with SCP-xxxx-3a are included in Addendum B.
Staff assigned to communicate with SCP-xxxx-3a when it manifests have noted a steady and measurable degradation of its apparent mental state.
Since 14/07/2019 SCP-xxxx-3a has become uncommunicative. When manifested it spends its time on Deck 1, Section 3 (forward observation) looking out of the main windows.
During SCP-xxx-4, two incorporeal apparitions manifest, either together or separately in different sections of SCP-xxxx. These apparitions have been designated SCP-xxxx-4a and SCP-xxxx-4b. SCP-xxxx-4a appears to be Doctor ███ Ericsson, the level 4 technical specialist assigned to Project Looking Glass. SCP-xxxx-4b appears to be an unknown D-Class, identified by their uniform as D-8742. Both SCP-xxxx-4a and 4b appear to be unaware of their surroundings and of being observed. Both appear to be in states of extreme distress, and despite the appearance of making loud vocalisations, are unable to communicate on a frequency detectable either audibly or by any equipment currently available to the Foundation. Lip reading has revealed the vocalisations of both entities to be unintelligible.
Addenda:
The following is an transcription of the audio recorded during an occurrence of SCP-xxxx-1. For a full log of all such occurrences, contact Dr. Greyling.
Incident recorded at 09:05:23 06/08/2019 on Deck 1, Section 1 (command deck). Incident lasted for 3 minutes and 14 seconds, and was detected by Dr. Suresh and technician Nakamura who were performing an examination of the bridge electrical systems.
SCP-xxxx-1c: Jesus fucking Christ I can't believe how fucked this is.
SCP-xxxx-1a: Luke, please for fuck's sake not now.
SCP-xxxx-1c: Then when? When are we going to talk about this? This was meant to be better!
SCP-xxxx-1a: I know! Christ, I know! But we knew the risks! Would you rather we'd stayed and starved? Or gone outside and ended up like the others?
SCP-xxxx-1b: Please don't fight.
SCP-xxxx-1c: Great, now you've made her cry.
SCP-xxxx-1a: I made her? Look, let's just not… Sarah, I'm sorry.
SCP-xxxx-1b: [Inaudible]
SCP-xxxx-1c: What did you say?
SCP-xxxx-1a: She said she's tired.
SCP-xxxx-1c: [Sighs] We all are.
[26 seconds of silence. Voices move to the rear of section 1 near to where Dr. Suresh and technician Nakamura had been working]
SCP-xxxx-1a: This has moved again. I swear the panel was closed last time were were here.
SCP-xxxx-1c: You're probably just forgetting.
SCP-xxxx-1a: I'm certain! It was closed!
SCP-xxxx-1c: Well it's not like we touched it! Look! See! Nothing!
SCP-xxxx-1a: I'm sure, I remember because I was-
SCP-xxxx-1c: What, you think someone else is here? Someone's walking around here and we've not seen them?
SCP-xxxx-1a: Alright, please, don't shout.
SCP-xxxx-1c: Fucking dumbass.
[8 seconds of silence]
SCP-xxxx-1c: Did you feel that?
SCP-xxxx-1b: Oh god, it's happening again!
SCP-xxxx-1a: Sarah, it'll be alright! Calm down!
SCP-xxxx-1b: No, not again! Not again!
[22 seconds of increasingly distressed audio followed from SCP-xxxx-1a, SCP-xxxx-1b, and SCP-xxxx-1c. Incident ended with audio abruptly ending at 09:08:37 06/08/2019]
The following are excerpts of interactions by staff with SCP-xxxx-3a. For a full log of all communications to date, contact Dr. Greyling.
Recorded 06/20/2019
<LOG BEGINS>
Staff present: Level 4 Researcher Abernathy, Level 3 Technician BoyleAdditional Notes: This log marks the first detection of SCP-xxxx-3a by Foundation Personnel. The Incident occurred while Researcher Abernathy and Technician Boyle were examining the forward section of SCP-xxxx. SCP-xxxx-3a materialised and attempted communication. Technician Boyle recorded the log on her sensor package. SCP-xxxx-3a's replies have been later transcribed by lip reading its responses.
Abernathy: My god! Who are you? How did you get here?
SCP-xxxx-3a: Did we make it? Did we make it?
Abernathy: [to Boyle] I can't hear her. Can you?
Boyle: [to Abernathy] No. Look at her outfit, she's security. [to SCP-xxxx-3a] Can you hear us?
SCP-xxxx-3a: I can't hear you! What happened? Where are the rest of them?
Abernathy: [to Boyle] You're recording this, right? [to SCP-xxxx-3a] We can't hear you! [gestures to his ears] Can't hear you!
SCP-xxxx-3a: I can't hear you either. What happened? Did it deafen us? It sure was loud, so maybe. Have you seen Carlyle? Or Huxley? We were all on the bridge but now I can't find them.
Abernathy: I still can't hear you! This is frustrating. [begins gesturing to his own ID card] Who are you? ID? ID card?
SCP-xxxx-3a: Why do you need to see my ID? It's not like it matters anymore. Wait, why aren't your clothes torn? Where are you from? How did you get onto this ship? What's happening?
[At this point SCP-xxxx-3a suddenly dematerialised. Researcher Abernathy and Technician Boyle immediately contacted senior staff and presented their video log. Staff with training in lip reading were stationed within SCP-xxxx in case of further manifestations of SCP-xxxx-3a.]

<LOG BEGINS>
Staff present: Level 4 Researcher Abernathy, Level 3 Researcher KowalskiAdditional Notes: After the initial appearance of SCP-xxxx-3a, Level 3 Researcher Kowalski was assigned to SCP-xxxx due to their training in lip reading. The following log was recorded after a manifestation of SCP-xxxx-3a was detected and Researcher Kowalski arrived to transcribe its responses. Staff communicated their responses to SCP-xxxx-3a with the use of a tablet and projector.
SCP-xxxx-3a: How many made it through? How many of us made it?
Abernathy: How many of you were aboard?
SCP-xxxx-3a: Not many. 30 or so, I think? Some techs and guards, even a few Ds. Not enough. The doctor told us this thing needs a lot more crew to run properly.
Abernathy: Which doctor is that?
SCP-xxxx-3a: Uh, I'm not sure. He was one of the few level 4s who made it to the hangar. He seemed to know about this thing, told us we could use it to escape.
Abernathy: Escape what?
SCP-xxxx-3a: The, the thing! It was… it was awful. Everything, everyone… just dying. Something in the air? I'm not sure. We were inside when it happened. I… I'd wanted to try and get to Michael, my husband. But Huxley stopped me, made me realise it wouldn't have made a difference.
[At this point SCP-xxxx-3a became visibly distressed, taking 11 seconds before continuing]
SCP-xxxx-3a: We'd held out for a few days, before we knew it wasn't going to get any better. We were running out of food, so we took a vote. It was unanimous.
Abernathy: A vote to use the ship?
SCP-xxxx-3a: Yeah. All I could think was, if it worked like the doctor said, maybe I could find him again? I knew it wouldn't be him. My Michael. But it was a chance, right? Can you tell me if he's okay here? I can give you our address, or you should have it on file. Please.
Abernathy: We will contact him. In the meantime, please tell us more about the event.
SCP-xxxx-3a: I'm not sure what I can tell you. It happened so fast. It was horrible. We were lucky the site had hermetic seals.
Abernathy: It was an airborn event?
SCP-xxxx-3a: God, the things we saw happen on the video feeds. Oh Michael, I'm so sorry.
Abernathy: Please focus. The event.
SCP-xxxx-3a: Wait, it's happening again.
[At this point SCP-xxxx-3a suddenly dematerialised]

Staff present: Level 4 Researcher McMurdoch, Level 3 Technician Kowalski
McMurdoch: Can you tell us about what happened when you engaged the wormhole drive?
SCP-xxxx-3a: I'm not a tech, so I'm not sure of the specifics. We knew it would be tough, not having enough crew and all. I hate flying, and it was worse than that. Bumpy as hell. I was on the bridge, with Carlyle. He'd told me to watch the altimeter. The lead guy, doctor whatsit, he was piloting. He said we had to get high up to use the drive, but it was rough getting above 40,000 feet. He kept sweating and saying it hadn't ever been flight-tested.
McMurdoch: But you managed to engage the drive.
SCP-xxxx-3a: Yeah. The guys in engineering were yelling about the reactor at that point. We'd been really gunning it, I know that. Anyway, when the doctor hit the drive, everything seemed okay. It was so quiet. Everyone kind of… let out a breath. I think we were all expecting it to just explode or something.
SCP-xxxx-3a: Then. Then there was this… impact, like we hit something. Is that a thing? Hitting something inside a wormhole? Then it felt… I don't know. Like we shifted sideways.
McMurdoch: Did the Doctor piloting say anything?
SCP-xxxx-3a: He was yelling all kinds of stuff. I didn't understand any of it. Something about quantum states? I think we were all screaming at this point. Huxley grabbed my hand.
McMurdoch: Then what happened?
SCP-xxxx-3a: I… I don't know. I remember the ship dropping. It felt like the worst roller coaster, you know? I hate those things. Then… nothing. There were screams. I can hear some of them still screaming, when it happens, when I'm not here. It sounds like they're still falling.
McMurdoch: Can you communicate with the other entities?
SCP-xxxx-3a: Entities? Is that what we are now? No, I can't talk to them. They're… I don't know. Stuck falling. They didn't make it. I guess I didn't either. Not fully.
[At this point SCP-xxxx-3a seemed to become agitated]
SCP-xxxx-3a: Ah shit. I'm going again. God, I hate this.
[At this point SCP-xxx-3a detmaterialised]
Recorded 10/14/2019
<LOG BEGINS>
Staff present: Level 4 Researcher Kingstone, Level 3 Researcher KowalskiAdditional Notes: This log is the last instance of active communication with SCP-xxxx-3a.
Kingstone: Will you tell us more about what you remember of the event?
[SCP-xxxx-3a remained unresponsive, requiring repeated gesturing from Researchers Kingstone and Kowalski before it looked at the projected text]
SCP-xxxx-3a: Tell me about Michael first. Please, I've answered so many of your questions already. We've gone over it so many times. Just tell me if he's alive.
Kingstone: He is alive, and well. He lives in ███████████.
SCP-xxxx-3a: Oh thank god! Oh thank you!
[SCP-xxxx-3a began crying, and remained unresponsive for 23 seconds]
SCP-xxxx-3a: What about me, I mean… her? Is he… married here?
Kingstone: Yes. He is married to ██████ Washington, who works for the Foundation.
SCP-xxxx-3a: You know, when the doctor told us about the ship he said it was a last resort, but I thought to myself 'maybe this is my second chance'. With Michael, you know? I'd lost him, but maybe there was another Michael. I'd thought 'maybe there's another me too', but I didn't really think…
[SCP-xxxx-3a pauses for 4 seconds]
SCP-xxxx-3a: It's not like I can go see him, is it? I'm stuck here. In more ways than one. And why would I do that to him? He's happy. He has her.
[At this point Researcher Kowalski took control of the tablet]
Kowalski: I'm sorry.
[Researcher Kingstone admonished Kowalski and took back the tablet]
Kingstone: Please tell us about the event. Start at the beginning, before you heard the initial alarms. Can you describe the weather that day?
SCP-xxxx-3a: I'm out of place here. A duplicate.
[Researcher Kingstone gestured to his previous message]
SCP-xxxx-3a: I shouldn't have left.
Kingstone: Please answer the question.
SCP-xxxx-3a: I just wanted another chance.
[SCP-xxxx-3a remained unresponsive for another 13 seconds, before dematerialising.]

Item #: SCP-xxxx
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The building complex containing SCP-xxxx is to remain boarded up, surrounded by a chain-link fence and marked as condemned and extremely hazardous. A Foundation security team is to be permanently stationed at the site, to prevent entrance by civilians and unauthorised personnel.
SCP-xxxx is to be kept under constant video surveillance by on-site staff; senior staff must be notified immediately about any activity within SCP-xxxx or any alteration of the water level within SCP-xxxx.
At no point should personnel be allowed to enter SCP-xxxx, even under testing conditions.
Description: SCP-xxxx is a swimming pool located within an abandoned sports complex in █████████, █████████, UK. SCP-xxxx measures 12m wide by 25 m long and signage lists SCP-xxxx's depth as ranging from 1 m to 3.5 m at its deepest point. There are 2 (two) ladders positioned at either end of SCP-xxxx and ten(10) water intake pumps located around it's edge just below water level. SCP-xxxx's total volume and maximum depth are currently unknown due to its anomalous properties.
The water level within SCP-xxxx is currently 32cm below the edge of the pool.
SCP-xxxx contains an disproportionally large volume of salt water (estimated in excess of 50,000 cubic meters) with an average salinity of 35 psu and an average temperature of 4°C. Attempts to illuminate the interior of SCP-xxxx beyond a depth of 12 metres 8 meters has proved ineffective as sources of illumination lowered beyond this depth are invariably attacked and destroyed by the hostile inhabitants of SCP-xxxx. ROVs and other automated drones placed into SCP-xxxx have similarly been destroyed after descending beyond a depth of 12 metres 8 meters.
Attempts to drain SCP-xxxx have been unsuccessful; pumps with a flow rate in excess of 20 m3/h, employed for 120 consecutive hours, failed to measurably reduce the level of water within SCP-xxxx.
The walls of SCP-xxxx are constructed from regular marine tile, but at lower depths appear to be covered in a range of unidentified marine plants, algae, and coral formations.
SCP-xxxx contains a number of large, hostile aquatic creatures of various unknown species, hereafter referred to as SCP-xxxx-1 through -8. None of these creatures have exhibited the ability to exit SCP-xxxx and predominantly remain at an estimate depth of 20 metres, although some occasionally rise to approximately 12 metres 8 meters, usually when a foreign body is placed within SCP-xxxx, and many are capable of attacking individuals and objects above this depth with a number of long, tentacular appendages or chitinous claws.
Addendum: SCP-xxxx came to the attention of the Foundation following the disappearance of several local youths. Investigations by the local police lead them to the abandoned sports complex, culminating in several members of the police begin dragged into SCP-xxxx by SCP-xxxx-1. When Foundation agents embedded in the police force received reports of the "giant squid monster" that had attacked the police officers they moved in, secured the area and treated all attending police personnel with class-C amnesiacs.
When SCP-xxxx was first secured a number of ritual inscriptions were discovered around the edge of the pool, written in a mixture of Akkadian, ancient Greek and Norse, referring to various mythological aquatic deities and creatures including Scylla, Tiamat, Tethys, Charybdis and Jörmungandr.
In addition a number of human bones, sections of animal carcasses (later identified to belong to Cetorhinus maximus (basking shark), lophius piscatorius (angler fish) and Loligo vulgaris (european squid)) and small stones were discovered around the edge of SCP-xxxx and placed within the water filter access panels.
Incident-1512-a: On ██/██/20██ two D-Class personnel were sent into SCP-xxxx to gauge SCP-xxxx-1's reaction to commercially-available shark repellent. Both were immediately attacked and dragged beneath the surface of SCP-xxxx. Immediately following the attack on-site staff observed the water level in SCP-xxxx rise by approximately 5cm.
To confirm this observation, Dr Small authorised another D-class to be sent into SCP-xxxx and the water level observed. The D-class was again attacked by SCP-xxxx-1 and the water level of SCP-xxxx further rose by 3cm.
Incident-1512-b: On ██/██/20██, during an attempt to map the interior layout of SCP-xxxx, it was observed that SCP-xxxx-1 was able to attack the ROV as it passed a depth of 8 metres, rather than the previously established 12 meter boundary.
Careful review of test logs revealed that the depth boundary had apparently changed following Incident-1512-a.
Following this observation all further testing on SCP-xxxx has been suspended pending review.
