Special containment procedures: SCP-???? Is to be contained within a windowless room with no access granted under any circumstances. The door to the room is to remain sealed with any and all cracks sealed permanently. There is to be no monitoring this room with any device for viewing, audio is allowed but not recommended. At all times there is to be at least two standing guards of level 3 clearance in the hallway dedicated for SCP-????’s monitoring. These guards are to be temporarily blinded for the duration of their guard duties. Every hour the door to the room containing SCP-???? Is to be checked for cracks, this can be achieved using hands or sense of smell as the room has been filled with ammonia gas from pipes with osmosis proof ends. Any leaks are to immediately sealed using quick drying cement and checked ten minutes later for faulty sealing. The containment area of SCP-???? Including both the room and hallway are to be monitored through use of ultra-sonic mapping devices in order to prevent visual contact. The hallway is located within Warehouse 153CI987, in ██ █████, ████. Warehouse 153CI987 is also equipped with electronic; locking doors, lights, chlorine gas compound 12F. (new containment procedure has been updated due to incident file SCP-???? 1-C) Before exiting the hallway both guards present must ensure one final time that the door and walls are sealed then visually inspect each other for signs of tampering by SCP-????. The sound proofing of the room in question has been attempted many times, however the entity’s scratching of walls and door have proven the endeavor useless.
A warning to new guards, SCP-???? will attempt any scheme to exit its cell, including scratching of walls or door. It will attempt to bribe, cheat, steal, or bargain for its freedom. Any attempts are to be ignored. If the guard has any hesitation ignoring requests by SCP-???? they are to report to their commanding officer and relieved of duty immediately.

Emergency protocol 1: Any visual contact with SCP-???? Is to reported immediately without hesitation. The hallway to SCP-???? Is equipped with two outward facing doors that upon escape of the entity will swing open. Defer to Emergency containment procedure 1.
Emergency protocol 2: Any visual contact with SCP-???? has not been reported, defer to Emergency containment procedures 2-4.

Emergency containment procedure 1 Code name: Blackout
Upon breach of SCP-????’s containment and the following of proper EP1, all lights in warehouse 153CI987 are to shut off, all doors, sealed and personnel in site to be briefed via earpiece only. All devices except audio will shut off using the IBES system, and staff will be encouraged not to attempt accessing any devices with imaging capabilities. On site trained staff will assemble two teams of clearance level 1 or lower personnel to identify the infected individual currently suffering by administering one of the SCP-???? tests. Upon exhaustion of this test it is to be reported and retired. The offending individual is to be escorted back to the cell, wherein another test is to be performed to ensure SCP-???? has been contained. The test is to be reported and retired.

Emergency containment procedure 2 Code name: Exhaustion
Step 1: Upon breach of SCP-????s containment and failure to perform EP1, the doors to the hallway are to be opened. Staff inside warehouse 152CI987 are not to be informed. Staff above clearance level 1 inside have been informed of this protocol. IBES will be activated at this time. The entity should be given one hour to thoroughly exhaust its prey before a containment crew arrives.
Step 2: The containment crew should be comprised of an A and B team, A team will be made of class D personnel and will not be handed blindfolds. One member of team A enters the facility with a rope tied to themselves, upon finding the entity and being infected the team member is to report back, tugging twice on the rope. Before the infected arrives, the rest of team A must enter any provided shelter that hides their eyes. Team B should consist of level 3 clearance security or higher, must be extensively briefed on the nature of SCP-????, and equipped with vision blockers. They should then perform one SCP-???? test upon the return of team A member, and once again upon reaching the cell. All tests are to be reported and retired. If the team member is not infected they must dispose of the individual and attempt another recovery.

Containment procedure 3 Code name: Gas chamber
Warning: containment procedure 3 is only performed upon review and acceptance by at least three level 4 clearance personnel.
Upon breach of SCP-????’s containment and failure to perform EP1, doors, except in hallway, and vents to warehouse 153CI987 are to be sealed. All personnel will be informed, and the warehouse will be flooded with chlorine gas compound 12F will be released. (This is procedure is experimental and has never been tested on SCP-????, theory suggests this might be enough to burn away the host body and eradicate the entity, however, it is too dangerous to attempt without risking exposure to SCP-????, see experiment [DATA EXPUNGED]). Upon release of the gas warehouse 153CI987 will be aired out for exactly three months and patrolled by fifty specially trained security personnel. After the gas has dissipated repeat containment procedure 2 step 2.

Containment procedure 4 Code name: Retrieve
Upon breach of SCP-????’s containment and confirmed escape into warehouse ground before EP1, all personnel are to be informed of SCP-????’s escape and containment procedure 3 will begin. If procedure 2 step 2 fails, immediate recovery operations will begin. Recovery protocol dictates that only expendable level 0 clearance personnel are to be used in monitor gore sights daily and reporting any anomalous findings to recovery team. If inflicted the, individual is to report to warehouse 153CI987 and tested upon arrival, and if found to be infected sent to the cell and tested again. Any tests used are to be reported and retired.

Description:
SCP-???? is a malevolent invisible entity attached to a number that is usually found carved on body of the current victim upon their death. Death of this victim is not well understood due to the anomalous nature of the entity, the body can appear dead but can seemingly reanimate if another victim is not found. If the current victim has not passed on the infliction, the entity can keep the corpse alive through unknown means indefinitely. This corpse can walk, talk, and act exactly like its living body, with reports stating that it remember events in the corpse’s life. Its main method of infection involves mutilation of the body in spectacular fashion, it’s assumed this draws the attention of goraphiles online, allowing it to spread through hosts in certain circles of online activity. It can only spread the infection through sight, and leaves a calling card on the victims bodies, a number equating to the total deaths it has been involved in, however only one host can be infected at a time. The entity outside of containment it seems to follow a predictable pattern of slowly killing and using the bodies as bait. Inside of captivity it acts similar to a starved animal, desperate and angry. It is prone to violent outbursts and crafty schemes to get the number seen (see Dr. Derwin report’s). Originally classified as Euclid, the entities ability to adapt and rate of consumption when “starved” has earned the reclassification of Keter. The current number is estimated to be around █,███. Methods to procure the current number of victims including any form of image capture are strictly prohibited. The entity itself claims to be over [REDACTED] years old, and sighting have gone back to the early [REDACTED].

SCP-???? seems to be an entity attached to the body of a young man. This body functions much like it did before coming into contact with the entity, and is able to communicate complex ideas and memories associated with the body. In my conversations with it, it attempts to trick me into viewing its number. Guards on duty report it making deals with them as well. Though we have a good grasp on what the entity is and how it functions, I feel we may have made a mistake in its containment and have brought it up with my superiors many times.

The idiot guard slipped it a piece of paper. It killed thirteen people… What’s worse is it seems to have a grudge against me, as if it blames me for locking it up. They found it standing outside my office waiting for me to leave. I’ve contacted the 05 council to get its class raised, but I’ve been blocked by that pesky Dr. Kimbo. That glory crazed idiot will get people killed.

I’ve had the containment room fitted with special pipes that fill the room with ammonia gas and all cracks sealed after this last breakout. The damn thing found a way to splatter blood from its goddam corpse onto one of the guard in the shape of its current number… (*sigh) I’ve also had the foundation step it up a class so people can take it seriously. Almost thirty-five dead from this one, including that idiot Dr. Kimbo. Once again it was standing outside my office. I was off to lunch before the thing found me. I swear I keep seeing numbers everywhere I go. Every shadow jumps out at me. Something on the floor now… Looks like some sort of drawing. I should.. I should go see my superiors.

Inspector Hamsten incident report #31649
It seems the pipes used to run the gas through to the containment unit was not covered well enough and the entity sprayed blood into them. The creature brutally murdered Dr. Derwin and five level 4 personnel present at the time. This case was called in by my fellow level 5 team members and I was filled in this morning at exactly [REDACTED]. For the time being we have moved the entity to a temporary holding cell while we prepare warehouse 153CI987 up in [REDACTED]. Hopefully its remote region will slow down the entity if it ever escapes, until then I have set up four protocols for this new location. Normally we wouldn’t go through the trouble with a slow moving entity like this, however, given its starving state, the entity can do lots of damage if released into a densely population region. I shouldn’t get sentimental, but rest easy Dr. D.
