The ice cube

SCP-\\\
Object class: Safe Keter

Special containment procedures:
SCP-\\\\ is to be kept in a standard low priority containment locker. Testing with SCP-\\\\ is to be permitted by two level two personnel. SCP-\\\\ is to be kept in a 50 meter x 50 meter x 50 meter shock resistant chamber lined with cloth or other cushioning materials at Site 47. If a piece of SCP-\\\\ breaks off, it must be reported immediately to the nearest security personnel. As of Test SCP-\\\\-B, testing with SCP-\\\\ is prohibited.

Object description:
SCP-\\\\ are two ice cubes, each with dimensions of 25x25x25 meters at the time of writing, labelled SCP-\\\\-1 and SCP-\\\\-2. The composition of this cube is entirely water, and it does not seem to melt. SCP-\\\\’s main anomalous properties manifest when a piece larger than 1 millimeter3 is broken off from the main ice cube and moved. The main ice cube will expand to meet the piece that was broken off, and then “merge” with it, having the piece of ice broken off be absorbed back into the main cube. The new ice is water taken from the environment around SCP-\\\\. This ice can be taken from chemical compounds when possible, and can result in the death of nearby living things as a result.

SCP-\\\\ was originally classified as an anomalous object, after Researcher Ero noticed that there was an ice cube that had not melted in the site cafeteria. Shortly after it was classified, however, SCP-\\\\’s main anomalous property was discovered.

Test log

Test SCP-\\\\-A
The purpose of this test was to see how large a piece of SCP-\\\\ must be broken off to activate it's main anomalous property.
A piece of ice was broken off using a robotic arm. Said piece was less than 1 millimeter3
Result: The piece broken off expanded until it was slightly larger than 1 millimeter3, and acted as a second instance of SCP-\\\\. Designated as SCP-\\\\-2.

Test SCP-\\\\-B
The purpose of this test was to see the limit’s of SCP-\\\\’s expanding property, if any.

A piece of SCP-\\\\ was broken off and thrown by Researcher Ero.
Result: SCP-\\\\ started to expand shortly after the piece was thrown, and resulted in a size increase of nineteen (19) meters3. All water within a twenty (20) meter radius disappeared, including the water inside the blood and chemical compounds in Researcher Ero’s body, who was sent to the infirmary.

holy fuck, okay - Researcher Ero
