DrX1963 » Experiment Log DrX1963
Important Instruction: Use of SCP-XXXX is to be recorded with particular detail regarding timeline and maximum relevant observations. This is to reduce use of the object whilst utilizing test time for productive and worthwhile results. Though observations may be seen as objective by its nature, a transcript of developments regarding research and theory in practice should be provided when possible as not to inadvertently omit details of future significance. While the expected manner of targets may vary, it must be stressed that a great deal of mental discipline is necessary on the parts of both subjects and willing targets.
Log-01 - 06-26-2019
Subject: D-4919-b2, Male, 34
Target: Dr ███████, Female, 3█
Commenced: 13:10
- Subject is restrained in an upright seated position.
D-4919-b2: So, what cruel and unusual punishment is it this time?
Dr ███████: Please, I'll need you to cooperate. This won't hurt.
- SCP-XXXX is placed around the subject's head.
Dr ███████: Now, I need you to focus on the sound of my voice. Try to remember what my face looks like, and let me know if you start t-[INTERRUPTED]
D-4919-b2: Whoa! I… It's me! But… It's you! I can see me! Is this like a spy mask?
Dr ███████: We'll be doing a few different tests now. Please try to be as concise as possible.
- 13:12 - Specialized vision and reflex tests are performed, lasting a maximum of 9 minutes total with intermittent reminders to focus on Dr ███████ (a task which did not seem difficult on the subject's part).
- 13:19 - The subject briefly comments on his vision of Dr ███████'s eyelids as they blink. It is apparently mildly disorienting considering that his eyes are consistently closed.
- 13:21 - The subject interjects:
D-4919-b2: Wait… sorry, could you please… can I… could you please look at my feet?
Dr ███████: May I ask why?
D-4919-b2: I'm still barefoot right?
Dr ███████: Correct.
D-4919-b2: I uh… I think I can feel your shoes. Are you wearing high heels?
Dr ███████: That's right. I think we'll move on to stage two now.
- Dr ███████ taps her own shoulder, to which the subject is visibly and audibly startled.
- 13:24 - A pin is brought out and pricked into Dr ███████'s finger, causing pain in both participants. Comparison shows no evidence of puncture in the subject's corresponding finger.
- 13:26 - More exercises follow, pertaining to the identification of textures and areas of the anatomy based on touch alone.
- 13:42 - It is brought up by the subject that he is aware of the notes being made on his performance and subsequent conclusions. He proceeds to recommend that perhaps carbon paper or a third researcher be introduced to conceal information written directly in front of him.
- 13:39 - Subject is apparently able to feel a contrasting flow of air within the throat and lungs, to which only a series of breathing exercises is recommended by Dr ███████ to "match pace". Despite visibly uncomfortable reactions, nothing is said of the diaphragm's motion, nor the assumed sensation of involuntary swallowing.
- 13:43 - More exercises commence regarding hearing, including sound direction and pitch recognition. The subject has lowered their volume.
- 13:51 - Subject matches the predictions made regarding the stages at which low level telepathy is expected, based on the [DATA EXPUNGED] from Mr [REDACTED]
Dr ███████: Now. How are you feeling right now?
D-4919-b2: Well, it's strange… I can feel the arm straps and the chair… but I can also feel the sleeves of your coat… and it's like I'm wearing two different sets of clothes at the same time. Everything just kind of… overlaps… I'm… sorry, I don't mean to make you feel uncomfortable…
Dr ███████: Don't be. We need to know as much as possible.
D-4919-b2: Well… I um… I can hear both of my voices, so I'm actually a bit quieter than I think I am… I can also feel when you speak…
Dr ███████: And what about your head at the moment?
D-4919-b2: Well… It's not quite a head ache… I feel like… am… Am I going to read your mind?
Dr ███████: What makes you think that?
D-4919-b2: Just a hunch… actually, I think I… I might have been… And… and you know that I just did.
Dr ███████: Then I think we can begin the next set of tests.
D-4919-b2: I knew you were going to say that.
- 13:53 - Dr ███████ begins to focus on a series of thoughts prepared for this stage. The subject is asked to speak the thoughts out loud. To begin, the color red is thought of, to which the subject responds correctly. Next, she hums the tune of the Alphabet song, followed closely by the near identical tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. According to the subject, she had been saying the words in her head, and the imagery for both songs varies greatly.
- 14:01 - It is apparent now that communication from the target to the subject has become entirely mental for ease of understanding on the subject's part. While the speed of communication has greatly increased, the sporadic phrasing has complicated the written format. Dr ███████ starts by instructing the D-4919-b2 to think of and focus on a different target.
D-4919-b2: I'm… trying… but I can't jump out of your perspective… …you're right… …tomorrow? So, I'm not… Ah right… I'm… hmm? Well… …I shouldn't be, but… No really! If you were wearing this thing… I swear… Well, it's wrong. It… …wait… You've got to be kidding me. That- …how? I… I didn't… I'm sorry, really… Well, you're probably right… I shouldn't.. thanks anyway… Yeah… …It could always be worse… Yeah. So will I.
- 14:11 - SCP-XXXX is cautiously removed from the subject, resulting in a visible short lasting discomfort. Dr ███████ then requests access to background reports on D-4919-b2.
- 14:16 - SCP-XXXX is returned to original storage.
Note 06-26-2019: SCP-XXXX Has been verified as safe. The restrictions of staff use regarding mental and physical health concerns have been lifted to incorporate more reliable experimentation. Additionally, staff will be held responsible for information leaked to subjects of lower clearance levels. It is therefore advised that the mask is removed from such subjects before the final stages.
Log-02 - 06-26-2019
Subject: Dr ███████, Female, 3█
Target: Dr █████, Female, 2█
Commenced: 15:20
- Subject and target are at an approximate distance of 11.7 kilometers. A phone call is initiated briefing Dr █████ on the properties of SCP-XXXX. The experiment begins.
Dr █████: Alright. I'm ready.
Dr ███████: I'm putting it on now.
- SCP-XXXX is applied to Dr ███████. 11 seconds pass.
Dr ███████: Okay. I've made visual contact.
Dr █████: What do you see?
Dr ███████: It's your office. The blinds are down, and there are a few folders on the desk.
Dr █████: How many fingers am I holding up?
Dr ███████: Two… now four… now one.
Dr █████: Wow this really works!
Dr ███████: Let's get started.
- 15:23 - The subject attempts a divergent thought, focusing on a separate unrelated target. It is confirmed that it is not possible to diverge their perspective from one person to another.
- 15:30 - Dr █████ Had previously been instructed to continue tapping her shoulder.
Dr ███████: I believe stage two has kicked in.
Dr █████: That's the other senses right?
Dr ███████: Some of the stronger ones, yes. Now, we need to try to inhibit some of your senses. Do you have anything that might make you perceive things differently or prevent normal function?
Dr █████: Hold on.. I have an idea… stay tuned…
- The target ends the call and proceeds to exit the building. Dr ███████ is still able to hear the comments made by Dr █████.
- 15:35 - The target purchases three bottles of [REDACTED] Vodka.
- 15:40 - The target returns to the office and resumes the call.
Dr ███████: You're seriously going to get drunk?
Dr █████: It's for science!
- The first bottle is opened and a standard shot is taken. Dr ███████ gags.
Dr ███████: Oh my f… Oh god, that was gross.
Dr █████: No way! You can taste it?
Dr ███████: Taste it? I can feel it! ugh… It's like it… crawled down my throat.
Dr █████: Wow. So should I take it slow or…
Dr ███████: Honestly, the sooner you get it over with, the better.
- 15:57 - Dr ███████ notes her own consistent sobriety, to which Dr █████ insists that she needs to "loosen up a bit". Dr ███████ is disoriented by the fact that the target hadn't actually said anything.
- 16:13 - The first bottle is emptied and the target is deemed considerably inebriated.
Dr ███████: Hey! Watch it!
- The target audibly laughs.
Dr ███████: Oh very funny. You know that's basically assault, right?
Dr █████: I think that as the target, I have the right to do whatever I want with our bodies.
Dr ███████: Can you please try to be a little more professional about this? This is still being recorded.
Dr █████: Well, let's see… what size are you?
Dr ███████: Excuse me?
Dr █████: See, I'm a █████, so if I… press this coin here…
Dr ███████: Hey!
Dr █████: …and the circumference feels bigger than a normal coin to you, then that means that SCP-XXXX translates what it feels like to me, but not necessarily how it would feel like to you… right?
Dr ███████: I suppose so.
Dr █████: So is my method justified?
Dr ███████: You're forgiven, if that's what you meant.
- 16:28 - Conversation is now minimal on the part of the target. Upon being reminded of the fact that her thoughts are being transmitted, Dr █████ begins to panic. She is reminded that this is an experimental log, and that information regarding personal details is to be omitted. This statement has resulted in a constant flow of thoughts deemed regrettable by the target.
Dr █████: Wait, no! Stop it, brain! How could you betray me like this!
Dr ███████: I need you please to calm down… No! Listen to me… stop… And that! I need you to focus! I am not- Hey! Don't y- … I'll take it off! I… well, you don't have to… no… Alright, but you [REDACTED]… Why would it?… …[REDACTED].
- 16:40 - The call is ended and SCP-XXXX is removed. Dr ███████ notes the sensation of removal, comparing it to waking up from a daydream.
- 16:45 - SCP-XXXX is returned to original storage.
Note 06-26-2019: Following the results of previous experiments conducted, use of SCP-XXXX in both interrogation and psychiatric aid has been approved to authorized personnel. For similar reasons, testing following and during the excessive consumption of alcohol is henceforth highly discouraged.
Log-03 - 06-27-2019
Subject: D-4919-b2, Male, 34
Target: Multiple; To be specified in each case
Commenced: 07:00; To be specified in each case
- Subject is restrained in an upright seated position.
Dr ███████: I'll be prompting you with multiple targets today. When prompted, focus on them and try to receive an image, just like yesterday.
D-4919-b2: Okay. I'm ready.
TARGET: DR ███████, 07:01
Dr ███████: We'll start by making sure your perception is as it was yesterday. Focus on my presence.
- SCP-XXXX is applied to the subject. Seven (7) seconds pass.
D-4919-b2: I can see through you again.
Dr ███████: Good. Is anything different from yesterday's experience?
D-4919-b2: Well I… I can… I'm already starting to… I can feel you again. The um… The process is faster. I'm picking more up sooner than before.
Dr ███████: Is it strenuous at all?
D-4919-b2: No, no… the opposite actually. It's a lot easier. I can… you're already… how long's it been?
Dr ███████: About… 30 seconds.
D-4919-b2: I think I'm already halfway through the senses. You don't think something bad's going to happen, do you? No… No, it's fine… you've done this before… sorry I'll shut up. I think it's almost 100% now.
Dr ███████: Correct.
- SCP-XXXX is removed.
TARGET: MR [REDACTED], 07:06
Dr ███████: Remember the lawyer, Mr [REDACTED]? I want you to try and focus on him.
D-4919-b2: But… oh, right.
- SCP-XXXX is applied to the subject. Sixteen (16) seconds pass.
Dr ███████: Are you receiving anything?
D-4919: I don't think so, no.
Dr ███████: Are you able to focus on me again? Try to regain my perspective.
- Eight (8) seconds pass.
D-4919-b2: It's onto you again.
- SCP-XXXX is removed. It is confirmed through the target's lack of transmission and the success of the 'divergent' thought that the deceased are not targetable.
TARGET: LUKE SKYWALKER, 07:12
Dr ███████: Now… are you familiar with the film 'Star Wars'?
D-4919-b2: Um… Yes?
Dr ███████: Good. For this next part, I want you to think of the main character, Luke Skywalker.
D-4919-b2: Huh. Alright.
- SCP-XXXX is applied to the subject. Eleven (11) seconds pass.
D-4919-b2: Wow, okay.
Dr ███████: What do you see?
D-4919-b2: Uh… I'm not too sure. They're in a car somewhere… passenger side… Wait… I can see him in the mirror! It's the guy!
Dr ███████: Who is it?
D-4919-b2: The one who plays Luke! I thought he was dead!
Dr ███████: Are you picking up any other senses yet?
D-4919-b2: No, just sight. I think it'd take the whole hour to get the full thing.
Dr ███████: Well we won't be waiting around for that to happen.
- SCP-XXXX is removed. A request is made to verify Mark Hamill's location. The target in this case had a direct real life equivalent.
TARGET: DR █████, 07:21
- SCP-XXXX was applied to the subject who was prompted first to focus on Dr ███████.
D-4919-b2: Same as ever.
Dr ███████: Good. Now, I want you to focus on my thoughts once they come in.
- Dr ███████ begins to think of Dr █████. It takes almost 40 seconds from the point of initial visual contact for her thoughts to reach the subject.
D-4919-b2: Wait, I know her… she's… I've seen her… I can… I'm sorry, the um… sorry…
Dr ███████: It's fine… The more you can focus on, the better.
- SCP-XXXX is removed and reapplied.
Dr ███████: Now think of her. Remember her face. Remember the thoughts and memory of her.
- Eight (8) more seconds pass
D-4919-b2: I think… she's at home… watching something online.
Dr ███████: Is there anything in the room to confirm it's her?
D-4919-b2: There're some pictures on the wall, but she's not looking at them
Dr ███████: I think we can safely assume it worked.
- 07:25 - SCP-XXXX was removed after the target was confirmed via text messaging. Information regarding the test and an apology from Dr ███████ were relayed to Dr █████, who suggested that tests of this nature be performed during hours of the day in which targets may be more open to being cosmically spied on.
TARGET: VARIOUS SPECIES, 07:28
- The subject was asked to focus on the thought of various species of non-anomalous lifeforms during multiple uses of SCP-XXXX. None of the 15 organisms tried could be reached using the object's abilities, including Ants, Wolves, Sharks, Pythons, Seagulls, Chimpanzees, Microorganisms and Palm Trees. Anomalous lifeforms which were also tested included SCP-939, SCP-682, and SCP-1170-2. Following these, the subject was reassured that these were all false entities and that the test was in relation to SCP-XXXX's estimation capabilities. This seems to have worked in deterring speculation, though supervisors have recommended an ample dose of a Class-B amnestic before D-4919-b2 is returned.
- 08:01 - SCP-XXXX is returned to original storage.
Note 06-27-2019: The strengths and limitations of SCP-XXXX's capabilities have been defined thoroughly. There should now be minimal questioning as to the dangers of using SCP-XXXX. Further experimentation involving human or human-like anomalies is still undergoing evaluation. It is to be hoped that the [DATA EXPUNGED], and that the information gathered thus far replace it.
Log-04 - 06-28-2019
Subject: Dr █████, Female, 2█
Target: Dr ███████, Female, 3█
Commenced: 09:00
- Dr █████ arrived at Site 20 accompanied by Agent ████ at 18:20. Dr ███████ had remained awake for the last 27 hours before the experiment began, which was to be conducted in her office. Agent ████ is to assist Dr █████ by preventing dehydration and documenting the event.
- 21:00 - SCP-XXXX is applied to Dr █████ Who focuses on the target Dr ███████. The target lies on the ground and begins resting. Agent ████ reads to himself.
- 21:14 - The target is confirmed to be asleep. The subject reports near complete absence of sensation except for a numb awareness of the carpet against her arms. Agent ████ lightly taps on his palm above Dr ███████'s right ear, to which Dr █████ notes that she received no noise.
- 21:59 - At this point during which very few senses have been confirmed transmitted, SCP-XXXX has reached what is assumed to be maximum capacity.
- 22:27 - Dr █████ begins to describe unusual mental imagery. It is apparent that Dr ███████ is in a dream state. The thoughts are described as they pass.
Dr █████: Well, I'm in a… we're… she's in a field somewhere, with walls along the horizon. The grass is growing through concrete. I can see a building in the middle of a huge ditch. The sky is pitch black now. The walls are starting to… starting to squirm. There's a man. Wait, that's him, [REDACTED]. And there's me! I… why do I… I don't look like that do I? Hang on… I'm… do you know I'm here? ████, are you getting this? This could be- I mean it's… oh hang on, something's come up. I don't know what it is. It's banging at the walls, calling out to her. It's at the door now. Oh Jeez. It's some sort of big… red… thing. It's talking to her, but she recognizes the voice. It's not him. There's a lot of blood… We… we should wake her up. Now.
- 22:30 - Dr ███████ is woken up and asked if she can at all recall the dream. She remembers vague images; a field and a building in a ditch, and [REDACTED] who was killed in the incident. She finds Dr █████'s own account to be enough to confirm that the dream was fully broadcast.
- 22:46 - SCP-XXXX is returned to original storage. Dr ███████ has since informed supervisors that the log is consistent with previous experiences. It has been suggested that the target's supposed awareness of the subject's 'presence' was a result of exposure to the concept and experience of SCP-XXX as well as the target's awareness of a dream state.
Note 06-28-2019—1: Further tests regarding the sleep cycle are not recommended as they seem to support previously conducted research in the fields of psychology and neurology.**
Note 06-28-2019—2: Regarding the reevaluation of D-4919-b2: While [DATA EXPUNGED] has been regarded as a valid source in previous experimentation, the inferred [DATA EXPUNGED]. Unless valid and concise evidence is found and plausible solution is proposed that does not put the security of the foundation at risk, D-4919-b2 cannot be exonerated within our system.
Log-05 - 06-29-2019
Subject: Dr ███████, Female, 3█
Target: D-4919-b2, Male, 34
Commenced: 12:00
- Test has been designed to confirm previous hypotheses regarding psychic capabilities as well as the detection of deceit through mental queues and signals. Preparation commenced at 10:00 with Dr ███████ wearing SCP-XXXX for the first hour, focused on the experiment's target, and Dr █████ wearing SCP-XXXX for another hour with the same target. These actions act to maximize efficiency.
- The experiment takes place in an empty soundproofed room with a single one way mirror installed as well as a microphone and camera system. Opposite the window mirror is a observation room with a long desk, paper and pen, and SCP-XXXX. Target (D-4919-b2) is restrained in an upright seated position in the larger room and accompanied by the Interviewer (Dr ███████). In the hidden room is the Subject (Dr █████) as well as a the Communicator (Agent ████). The Interviewer and the Communicator share a set of earpieces through which only they can communicate.
- SCP-XXXX is applied to the subject, who is prompted to think of the target, D-4919-b2. After approximately 58 seconds, all mental activity is being received by the Subject. Whilst Dr █████ faces away from the window, Dr ███████ requests that Agent ████ pass on her inquiry as to the number of fingers she is holding up, to which Dr █████ responds correctly with 4, then one, then five. This is confirmed correct by Agent ████.
- The direction in which the Subject faces is referred to by Agent ████ as unimportant as she is in fact blindfolded by SCP-XXXX.
- 12:03 - The Communicator informs the Interviewer that she may begin.
Dr ███████: So. Could you start by confirming your designation for me?
D-4919-b2: D four nine one nine dash B two.
Dr ███████: Excellent…
- The Subject notes the Target's real name.
Dr ███████: Okay. Today we're going to be checking for how SCP-XXXX responds to false information and it's possible implementation as means of interrogation and confession.
- Dr █████ makes a comment pertaining to the target's internal suspicion.
Dr ███████: So… let's start with something basic. Can you tell me you age please?
D-4919-b2: I'm 34.
- Verified by the Subject who relays his birthday.
Dr ███████: Do you know how tall you are?
D-4919-b2: I think so. █'██.
- Response is verified by the Subject.
Dr ███████: Let's move onto some personal details. Could you please tell me your father's name?
D-4919-b2: [REDACTED]
- Answer is verified.
Dr ███████: What about [REDACTED]?
D-4919-b2: Wait what?
Dr ███████: Don't worry, that was a joke. Besides, we don't have any papers to prove those sorts of things.
- The comment has successfully eased the target's nerves, according to the Subject, though she expresses Dr ███████'s hypocrisy in terms of professionalism.
Dr ███████: Before we get to the hard part, I would like to ask you to lie to me about something. Where did you grow up?
D-4919-b2: I was raised in a mansion just south of ████.
- The Subject receives a contrary thought, as well as the thought processes which determined how the details of the lie were formed.
Dr ███████: Alright. Now, to the difficult part of the experiment. We'll be looking at your records. The only official depictions that we have of your background are in the case leading to your prosecution. Now, instead of speaking your answer, I want you to first think your way through the events, starting with the crime, and ending with the sentencing process. Please focus on as much detail as you can so that my associate can interpret your thoughts with certainty. Take as much time as you need. Ready?
- It is verified to Agent ████ and Dr ███████ that the Target understands.
D-4919-b2: Ready.
- Following this, Dr █████ conveys the targets thoughts aloud so that Agent ████ can write them. The transcript follows:
Dr █████: Okay, so… [REDACTED]… they'd already pinned it on him… they said six murders… he got lifelong… and he thought that was bad… but then… I think I'm…
D-4919-b2: I think I'm done.
Dr ███████: Alright. Now… can you please tell me what you were convicted of?
D-4919-b2: I was convicted of first degree murder. Six counts.
Dr ███████: And did you? Did you kill six people?
D-4919-b2: Yes.
- Dr █████ confirms that his last response is a lie.
- Dr ███████ thanks the subject for his cooperation before deeming the test successful.
- 12:34 - SCP-XXX is returned to original storage.
Note 06-30-2019: Following the submission of Log 05, it is clear that the experiment conducted on the 29th of June took place as an attempt by the researchers in charge of SCP-XXXX to provide evidence for the innocence of D-4919-b2. Thus, Dr ███████ and Dr █████'s efforts have proven successful. While previously logged etiquette during the use of SCP-XXXX has been less than ideal,
their intent is commendable. A discussion will commence tomorrow regarding plans for the subject in question.
Note 06-31-2019: As per the suggestions put forth by Dr's ███████ and █████ as well as Agent ████ and accompanying staff, [DATA EXPUNGED]. Abuse of this position will not be tolerated.
Know that this is an outstanding exception, and that future efforts to actively combat the judicial system will be met critically.
Log-06 - 07-10-2019
Subject: D-4905-n8, Female, 55
*Target:** Dr ███████, Female, 3█
Commenced: 15:25
- The subject is restrained in an upright seated position. It is of significance that D-4905-n8 lost their left leg in an accident. After SCP-XXXX is applied to them, they are asked to focus on the sound of the target's voice.
D-4905-n8: You're not trying to hypnotize me are you? Because if you are, I- I… what… what is this? Is this a trick?
Dr ███████: Could you please tell me what color this card is?
D-4905-n8: What? What card? What's with this thing? Is it some sort of camera?
- Dr ███████ pulls out a green card from her pocket.
D-4905-n8: Oh! Well, green. Oh this is strange.
- 15:27 - Dr ██████ takes a seat and begins routinely poking her left shin with her pen without looking.
- 15:34 - The subject appears visibly agitated.
D-4905-n8: What is that? Am I getting eaten? Is this like a disease?
Dr ███████: Please, describe the sensation.
D-4905-n8: It's like I'm… It's like I'm getting jabbed… on the one that isn't there.
Dr ███████: Your left leg? Can you tell me where on the leg you are being jabbed?
D-4095-n8: Well, it feels like it's just above the ankle.
- SCP-XXXX was removed. It was noted that the subject's estimation was accurate.
Note 07-10-2019—1: It would seem that Dr ███████'s green is also D-4905-n8's green. It is not yet possible to discern if it is the case that the mask has transmitted the equivalent color, or if there is very little to no difference in how the brains individually perceive the color.
Note 07-10-2019—2: Here we see the brain is registering a response in a region that is not present. This, as is the case with similar phantom sensations, is made possible because the nerves necessary are still present. So long as the brain is capable of registering it, it will be possible. It is strongly recommended that researchers remain vigilant in locating a future subject sustaining a sensory absence caused by neurological damage who also holds sufficient clearance.
