The Branded City

Before all explorations this area-isolated within the Rocky Mountains-is to be fenced with a simple chain link fence, and hiking through that area is to be discouraged and restricted. Any person who attempts to hike through the area is to be given Class A Amnestics, and will be transported 200 feet away and sent back down the mountain

Exploration-01:
D-245399 known from this point as Alpine is equipped with a camera, a flashlight, a radio, and a picture of Scp-5302’s mysterious brand.

Alpine is ordered to make his way toward the entrance to the gate, he reports feeling uneasy about the security department watching him. Alpine is then granted access and he reports the uneasiness subsiding over the next 5 minutes.
16:00 hours
Alpine is instructed to enter the first building. The building is 2 stories tall, made of concrete with no paint, and has windows in perfect condition every 1m. A large revolving glass door on the west wall, broken and rusted. Alpine enters and awaits command.
Command: please straighten your camera feed then continue.
Alpine fixes the camera and then continues forward. In the middle of the room there is a desk. The desk appeared to be made of mahogany and seems to have significant fire damage. Behind the desk is a tipped office chair with a piece of paper taped to the top. The note read, “The company is gone, we’ve been shut down, you are being let go.” Alpine is instructed to take this note and put it in his field kit. After compliance the next instructions came in. Alpine pans the camera toward a wall cluttered with posters, eviction notices, and newspapers. Alpine began to wander toward the wall, he reports that he felt the urge that he had to read them. When Alpine was closer the articles could be easily read. Alpine was given the choice to either put the camera down, facing the articles. Or stand for what could be an hour. Without question Alpine leans toward the first option, but at that moment, he noticed one article with the big bold letters “ENTIRE CITY CONDEMNED.” Alpine tore it off as quick as possible and hid it within his field kit. Alpine sat as the camera was facing the articles. Alpine was commanded to continue speaking through his radio to prevent the escape of Alpine.
17:00 hours
Alpine was finally told that viewing of articles was over, and he was to return the camera to its basic state. The rest of the room was completely empty. Alpine began to ascend the concrete stairs. Alpine recorded freezing temperatures on the second story. The second story was filled with junk. Alpine began to explore it and found a filing cabinet that looked completely brand new. Alpine was instructed to open the cabinet. Alpine opened the top file holder, nothing. Alpine opened the second one, one singular file, labeled; “the spokesman.” Command ordered Alpine to grab it and store it in his field kit. Alpine declined again and again. A security department was dispatched. When the security agent arrived, he told command that the file was doused in a mysterious liquid. Alpine opened the last file drawer, and he passed out. Inside was a [REDACTED] brand speaker covered in blood and skin pieces. It was carefully removed and tucked into the field kit. But the file folder was gone.
18:00 hours
Alpine finally awoke, and command instructed the men to get back to the entrance where a transport would be waiting. They began their descent, and the security officer noticed something Alpine did not. The brand. Drawings and burned in brands covered the wall above the entrance. After inspection, it was the same brand on Scp-5302. Alpine complained of a serious headache. Alpine collapses from pain, crawling to try to make it to the door. Alpine makes it out of the door and takes a breather outside the entrance. Security agent inspected Alpine for damage or sickness, he found nothing. After a half hour Alpine stood up and they began making their way toward the chain link fence gate. When they arrived, things seemed odd, there was no transport, no guards outside the gate, only 2 helmets which belonged to the agents with the brand blazoned upon the top.
The transport finally arrived and both Alpine and the security agent were successfully retrieved. Alpine was given a psychological evaluation, and was clear of any anomalous effects. The speaker in the field kit seemed to be the same brand as is inserted inside Scp-5302 but the skin and blood that it was covered in was not similar to Scp-5302. The note was stored away until further notice. The article the D-class stole was analyzed, but it was difficult to read. After it was read and written down, it was incinerated. This building is marked by the pink flag, meaning that it may have random anomalous effects.

The city was put off for more important matters. 6 months later a report came in from a security officer who was sent there for minimal review. He reported that during the night time, the city lights flicker on, the factory in the middle of the town will churn to life, and yells can be heard. Shrill screams occasionally sound from the factory. When he got close the noise became less and less noticeable, until the sound was gone. He did not enter the city. D-class exploration: APPROVED

+ Exploration-02

Voice recognition was set up first as to tell who is actually screaming during the cacophony of voices. Because expensive equipment was rejected, The D-class was given a journal to be recovered at a later date in case of bad circumstances. D-class was instructed to simply enter the gates first. She did so without hesitation, and began to walk to the city center. in the journal she was sent with says that at this point, there was no people and horribly foggy. according to the journal, She felt sad, sad as if she had just lost her job. She kept on going until she reached a fountain. the fountain was right next to the loud factory, and was spitting oil not water. she looked into the oil and it started to clear up, showing tens of thousands of silver coins. each was emblazoned with the same brand that appears on Scp-5302. She reached to collect the coins, and the clear form of the liquid disappeared and it became back to the goopy oil. When the journal was recovered, the rest of the text was smothered with oil, about this time, voice recognition officers reported her screaming. The D-class has never been found and is declared MIA until further notice.

The city was put away into foundation files as a low priority. Then, rumors began to spread that the company who may have created Scp-5302 may just be the foundation. 05 was alerted and the true story was told throughout posters in the foundation. A day later Scp-5302 breached containment mysteriously. Scp-5302 tore down every poster but one. Scp-5302 approached a high level official and tackled him to the ground. Scp-5302 then said “There will be more. The more you put it off, the more creatures will come.” Scp-5302 was then dealt with and the city file was moved to a medium priority.
