SCP-5972-The Dealer

Item #: SCP-5972 (Number is subject to change)

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: As of right now, SCP-5972 is not contained and is considered a top priority of the foundation by the O5 Council. SCP-5972 is to be captured alive at all costs and put in the newly constructed [DATA EXPUNGED]. Once captured by any anomalous organization named in this file, the Item should be transferred to [DATA EXPUNGED] as quickly and carefully as possible. Once transferred to [DATA EXPUNGED], Item must be kept under constant 24 hour surveillance by all on site staff. SCP-5972 must be given the minimum amount of food and water required for a normal adult human male to survive on. The food and water must contain trace amounts of sedatives to slow cognitive thought in SCP-5972 and ensure it’s cooperation in everyday activities. After each month of containment, all on site staff must be switched out for a new on site staff. Both staff groups must be checked for memetic effects and put through physiological evaluation. Each staff group must be required to have a minimum of 6 month leave from [DATA EXPUNGED] and any staff member that refuses to cooperate with this rule or breaks this rule must be terminated at once.

Description: SCP-5972 resembles a thin, middle-aged caucasion man that wears a green top hat along with some form of shirt seemingly made of unused bandages and black tuxedo pants. Its height is 1.79 meters, while it’s weight is unconfirmed. There has been nothing anomalous observed about the subject’s physical body structure and seems to possess normal physical human traits similar to men of similar physique. There are also no anomalous internal changes of the item. The subject can be killed with any normal weapon or anomalous weapon. However, the subject will be resurrected after a period of 1-30 days in a random location on Earth and the original body will disintegrate immediately afterwards leaving no trace of DNA. Once resurrected, the item will seek humans or other anomalous humanoids who have a desire to change something in their life or even the world (subject still under research). The item must be prevented from coming into contact with these individuals and if necessary, must kill the individual or item before contact. If the subject comes into close enough contact with the individual, then a Monkey’s Paw Event will take place. In this Event, the individual will make a “Deal” with SCP-5972 and they will be marked on their right or left hand by a symbol that looks like an eye (unknown where symbol would appear if the individual had nor hands since testing is considered too dangerou). At this point, the individual cannot be killed or halted by any known normal or abnormal means and will begin repaying SCP-5972 by completing a “Favor” for it. Once the “Favor” is completed, the wish of the individual will come true with 100% success rate. The wish cannot be reversed by any reality bender that the foundation has in containment as of right now. Although SCP-5972 can be killed at this point, it will not stop the individual from being forced to do the “Favor” nor will it negate the powers of SCP-5972. These “Favors” can range from mundane and non-threatening, to extreme and potentially world ending. The “Favor” cannot be stopped and will occur with a 100% probability rate. All sites should be prepared for this event and should have amnestics on them at all times to prevent major panic if possible. If it is impossible to prevent major panic and or major damage from the individual (still being debated if individuals should be called SCP-5972-2 or another name), all personnel should be prepared for termination of all witnesses. If “Favor” causes or has the potential to cause a k-class world ending scenario, SCP-2000 should be protected and prepared at all costs. After the end of the Monkey’s Paw Event, all organizations mentioned in this file must capture SCP-5972, if not already done so.

Organizations that have agreed to help in the capture and containment of SCP-5972: GOC, Children of the broken god, Serpent’s Hand

Addendum: The Serpent’s Hand have recently given the foundation an anomalous book that tells the reader of the book who SCP-5972 is attempting to make a “Deal” witht. Use of this will begin immediately.

Log Recovered from Site [REDACTED]

Interview Log: Dr. Folihar and SCP-5972

Interview Begin

Dr. Folihar: So SCP-5972….

SCP-5972: That’s what you’re calling me? Really?

Dr. Folihar: It's the number we assigned you, but I can refer to you by another name if you wish.

SCP-5972: Hmm…

(SCP-5972 rubs his chin)

SCP-5972: Actually… It is probably best you call me that instead of an actual name. I’m not going to be here for very long anyway.

Dr. Folihar: What do you mean by that?

SCP-5972: I mean exactly what I said. I’m going to leave this place at some point.

Dr. Folihar: I’m sorry to tell you this, but we intend to keep you here to protect both the common public and yourself.

(SCP-5972 laughs softly for a few seconds before responding)

SCP-5972: Oh doctor. You have no idea who I am do you?

Dr. Folihar: Why do you think we set up this interview?

SCP-5972: Go ahead and ask your questions then. And please only ask intelligent questions so we can get down to the knitty gritty.

(Dr. Folihar looks at his clipboard and begins looking through pages)

Dr. Folihar: Okay. SCP-5972 what is your origin?

SCP-5972: An intelligent question just like I requested. Thank you for being kind in that respect doctor, but I can’t tell you much about my origin except that I’ve existed since the beginning of everything.

Dr. Folihar: What do you mean by everything?

SCP-5972: I technically existed before everything was made.

Dr. Folihar: What exactly do you mean in that respect? Could you please be more specific?

SCP-5972: I’m sorry doctor, but that’s really all I’m inclined to tell you. I’m sure you’ll figure out what I mean later. Let’s continue onto another subject please.

Dr. Folihar: Ok. What is your purpose?

SCP-5972: Well, that’s complicated to answer.

Dr. Folihar: You can be as broad and or as specific as you can be.

SCP-5972: My purpose, I suppose, is to make deals with people.

Dr. Folihar: Is that your only purpose?

SCP-5972: The only really important purpose.

Dr.Folihar: Well then, what are these deals you make SCP-5972?

(SCP-5972 smiles and leans forward on the table)

SCP-5972: Well, you wouldn’t consider them deals. You would probably consider them wishes with a price.

Dr. Folihar: Like a Monkey’s Paw?

(SCP-5972 frowns)

SCP-5972: That story always irritates me. It’s because it plagiarized me! It literally took my entire deal and just cut me out of the equation. Ugh! But yes, that is how my deals work.

Dr. Folihar: Can you elaborate on the deals you make a little more?

SCP-5972: Why not? The deals I make have two parts. First, we discuss what my applicant wants and how they want it. We also discuss the favor they will have to complete for me. Then after the deal is signed or agreed upon, my applicant has to complete the task or favor for me. Once the favor is completed, the deal is done and the applicant’s wish comes true. It’s simple really.

Dr. Folihar: Have you been doing this since you came into existence?

SCP-5972: Yes. What else am I supposed to do to pass the time?

Dr. Folihar: Have you attempted at doing anything else besides your deals?

SCP-5972: Yes. It never works out though. I just don’t find it enjoyable or as rewarding.

Dr. Folihar: I see.

(SCP-5972 puts it’s head in it’s hands)

SCP-5972: No, you really don’t.

(Dr. Folihar looks up in surprise)

Dr. Folihar: Pardon?

SCP-5972: You cannot possibly understand what I go through. I was born out of NOTHING. But you came from something. You came from……… *Sigh* Nevermind. Sorry doctor. But you can’t understand everything.

(Dr. Folihar continues on writing notes, then puts down the clipboard and looks at SCP-5972)

Dr. Folihar: Perhaps we could help you if you tell us more.

(SCP-5972 takes it’s head out of hands and slightly smiles)

SCP-5972: You can’t help me doctor. Though I appreciate the effort.

(Dr. Folihar puts his clipboard down and looks at SCP-5972)

Dr. Folihar: Listen. The foundation may keep you in here, but we don’t treat every object we have contained as prisoners. We could help you if you tell us what’s wrong.

(SCP-5972 looks up slowly at Dr. Folihar)

SCP-5972: The only way you could help me is if you made a deal with me.

(Dr. Folihar shakes his head)

Dr. Folihar: I can’t do that for many reasons.

SCP-5972: Doctor. We could help each other. You would just need to listen to me for a few minutes to decide.

Dr. Folihar: I need to talk to my superiors first.

(Dr. Folihar pushes his chair back and begins to walk to the exit)

SCP-5972: You can’t right now.

(Dr. Folihar looks back at SCP-5972 in surprise)

Dr. Folihar: Why not?

SCP-5972: Have you noticed that the clock hasn’t moved for the past five minutes?

(Dr. Folihar looks at the clock hanging on the wall then back at SCP-5972)

Dr. Folihar: What is going on 5972?

SCP-5972: I’ve stopped things from going forward for right now. It’s an old trick I use to get alone time for my applicants.

Dr. Folihar: What are you talking about? I haven’t wanted a deal nor have I asked for one.

SCP-5972: You’re a terrible liar doctor. We both know that you want one thing more than anything else in the world.

Dr. Folihar: I-I don’t need it from you!

SCP-5972: But you want it. We both know you want it so badly. You’ve wanted it ever since you joined the Foundation. Ever since you learned of the anomalous. Ever since you discovered science, you have wanted more and more and more of it. You want to know what I know. You want to know how the universe happened and why there are SCPs in the first place. You want knowledge and you can’t help yourself no matter how hard you try. You are addicted to it. You NEED it, doctor. It gives your life meaning. We both know you won’t refuse me. So let’s stop it with the interview stunt, and let’s start talking about why you’re really here.

Dr. Folihar: I-I……. I need to think about this please.

SCP-5972: Of course. Take your time. We’re in no rush.

(Dr. Folihar walks around the interview room for a few minutes deep in thought)

Dr. Folihar: I believe… that I’m ready to make a deal now.

(SCP-5972 smiles while it looks at the doctor)

SCP-5972: Ok doctor. Tell me what you want and how you want it.

Dr. Folihar: I wish to know everything about you and all that you know. But I also wish that you cannot leave containment of your free will and, that if you were to ever escape containment, provide a way to track your movements and recapture you. I don’t want you to destroy the containment facility with your powers or with the powers of other SCPs, do you understand?

SCP-5972: Yes, I understand. Now what about the favor?

Dr. Folihar: You can only harm or hurt me for the favor and cannot use me to destroy the containment facilities or other humans. You can force me to live forever in anguish, but cannot force others to do the same.

SCP-5972: Very well. Now shake my hand doctor.

End of Interview.

Incident-5972-1

Three sites experienced total containment breach and failed to activate their nuclear failsafes until all SCPs had escaped containment. Containment breaches almost led to multiple end of the world scenarios and required the O5 Council to be personally involved in the recontainment and rebuilding process. After the rebuilding of two sites and recontainment of 75% of all escaped SCPs, Dr. Folihar was found at his original testing in [REDACTED]. He was in the same clothes he had been when interviewing SCP-5972 and was found to be in possession of an unknown interview log. Dr. Folihar was also found to be speaking in incomprehensible babbling and in different (possibly unknown) languages. He has been taken to [REDACTED] for further research. Thanks to the Interview log recovered, researchers were able to conclude that Dr. Folihar’s “Deal” with SCP-5972 was the reason that the three sites experienced such catastrophic failures. Through this deduction, it was also revealed that SCP-5972 has the most powerful reality bending powers the Foundation (or any other anomalous organization) has recorded. After this discovery, SCP-5972 was designated as a top priority item for recontainment.

Incident-5972-2

In Incident 5972-2, MTF teams intercepted a call between a local barber shop and customer who claimed to have had his hair grow back by making a “Deal”. MTF-1 was dispatched to New Orleans, Louisiana to capture and interrogate a Mr. Vol Wentworth. Capture and interrogation was successful and confirmed that SCP-5972 had made a deal with Mr. Wentworth and in exchange for his hair, his favor was to give 1,000 dollars to a random charity. Charity was later confirmed to be non-anomalous.

Incident-5972-3

In Incident-5972-3, a call by a GOC agent was intercepted by the Foundation. This call claimed that the agent killed what was believed to be SCP-5972 after finding the entity trespassing on his private property belonging to the agent in question. The agent also claimed that the entity had tried to talk to him after stopping time, but was shot by the agent before the entity could adequately speak. MTF teams were rerouted to the location traced by the phone call. When MTF agents arrived, GOC reported that the body of the entity believed to be SCP-5972 had completely disappeared from the cooler that the agent had stored it in. MTF were ordered to make contact with the GOC and, after negotiations, were able to convince the GOC to recapture the entity rather than kill it because of its high threat potential. Details of negotiations and follow up meetings with GOC are described in SCP-5972-Alpha.

Incident-5972-4

In Incident-5972-4, a MTF team was sent to an abandoned house in Michigan that had been reported to be lived in by a Mrs. Valory Roanoke. Mrs. Valory Roanoke was confirmed to be the next applicant of SCP-5972 with use of the Serpent’s Hand book that had been obtained recently. Once the MTF team had arrived at the house, the team quickly found a large amount of blood stains on the porch and door of the house. Tests would later confirm this to be the blood of Mrs. Roanoke. The MTF team found Mrs. Roanoke sitting on the ground, covered in blood. She was reported to have been holding an infant in her arms, however the infant disappeared from her arms when the MTF team attempted to get close to Mrs. Roanoke. Infant has still not been found. The MTF team was able to apprehend Mrs. Roanoke with little effort. After interrogation, it was revealed that SCP-5972 had already made the deal and favor with Mrs. Roanoke in the last 24 hours. The deal was to allow Mrs. Roanoke to have a child in exchange for her spilling her blood 5 times and allowing her child to be taken care of by someone else. Besides the amount of blood found at the scene, Mrs. Roanoke showed no other anomalous properties and was given class-A amnestics. Mrs. Roanoke still remembers however, but has agreed to say nothing about the organization. Mrs. Roanoke is still being monitored by the Foundation.

Incident-5972-5

In Incident-5972-5, a note was found in a recently built containment chamber at [REDACTED]. Note read:
It's been very fun. You’ve been giving me quite a hard time. Thanks for making my life even more enjoyable. Don’t worry, I won’t destroy the world. I’ll just make it more…Interesting. Ciao.
Sincerely, Your local Dealer.
Note was put into [DATA EXPUNGED] at [REDACTED] for further analysis.
