Exquisite Corpse Contest Entry-5092

Item #: SCP-5092

Object Class: Neutralized Thaumiel

[ARCHIVED 01/06/2013] Special Containment Procedures: All data constituting SCP-XXXX is held on a 16TB hard disk drive at Site-15. The drive is kept in an electromagnetically-isolated removable locker and should remain inside this container except when within another EM-isolated space. At no time may the drive be exposed to another digital storage device (i.e. coming within a two meter radius without shielding between the devices) outside of a testing environment.

Individuals exposed to SCP-5092 are to be subjected to Class A amnesticization followed by a two week observation period. Any produced instances of SCP-5092-1 are to be appended to the current SCP-5092 archive. Should initial amnesticization prove insufficient, the affected individual will remain in isolation and continue incremental amnestic treatment until the effect is mitigated.

Updated Special Containment Procedures: All data constituting SCP-5092 is held on a collection of 16GB flash drives. Each drive is held in a separate electromagnetically-isolated compartment within a dedicated vault at Site-15, and no more than one drive may be exposed to the vault interior at any given time. In the event of exposure between two dedicated drives or between a drive and a digital storage device from an external source, the devices are to be considered a single contiguous unit and should be stored in the same compartment until refragmentation can be executed.

Individuals under the influence of SCP-5092 are kept under 24/7 armed surveillance for the duration of its effect along with a one month observation period directly afterward. Those incapable of returning to their original state are subject to refragmentation.

[ARCHIVED 01/06/2013] Description: SCP-5092 is 16TB of confidential data on an unknown organization currently contained on a hard disk drive. This data seems to change the organization it is connected to on a bimonthly basis.

Exposure to SCP-5092 has led individuals to believe that the information contained inside is somehow relevant to them and their personal life, the individual is now classified as SCP-5092-1. This obsession will grow in the individual until it becomes debilitating. This exposure is not lethal if it's left alone, but the individual will develop a mental disorder or hostile tendencies.

If an individual connects SCP-5092 with any digital storage device, they gain knowledge of what is inside the drive. The individual will attempt to destroy SCP-5092 and any device that it was connected to. If this is not accomplished, after a period of two days, the individual's amygdala, hippocampus, cerebellum, and prefrontal cortex will begin to hemorrhage. If they survive the hemorrhage, for at least a month afterward individuals may develop a form of psychosis or schizophrenia.

SCP-5092 will attempt to attach itself to any storage device without the help of an individual. The range of this trait is two meters, it wipes the memory of the device entirely. SCP-5092 could be useful in completely erasing sensitive information on the Foundation or other subjects.

Updated Description: SCP-5092 is contained within 1,000 16GB flash drives. The effects are the same, however if two drives come into the vicinity of each other, all information will be wiped in a 60 meter radius of the drives. Including information contained biologically, causing complete memory loss to individuals inside of the radius.
