Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held at Humanoid Containment Site-06-3 in a modified humanoid containment chamber. Due to the subject's anomalous nature, the chamber is to be fitted with a lockable viewing window on the cell door, allowing direct observation of the chamber’s interior, and a tracking device is to be attached to its person at all times.

SCP-XXXX is to be supplied with one pack of Pall Mall Menthol Baseline cigarettes a week, having shown ongoing good behavior and cooperation in testing. Any negative changes in the subject’s behavior will lead to the immediate removal of these privileges.

SCP-XXXX is permitted standard socialization privileges with site residents and access to the site’s common areas. Two armed personnel are to be in close proximity to it at all times.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a Caucasian human male, 20 years of age, 178cm tall, 75kg in weight, and of German descent. SCP-XXXX does not sport any other outstanding characteristics. So far, SCP-XXXX has been fully compliant with all testing, showing a generally sociable and friendly personality through interaction with both foundation staff and other humanoid SCP's.

SCP-XXXX was recovered from its home in the city of █████, Germany, on the ██/ ██/2019 after Foundation staff was alerted to sightings of a "ghostly entity" through a foundation agent embedded in a local media outlet. The recovery was uneventful, with SCP-XXXX showing no signs of resistance to acquisition by Foundation agents. SCP-XXXX goes by the name "Helmut".

SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties manifest as a total invisibility to all forms of indirect observation. This means that SCP-XXXX cannot be observed through any means other than direct observation, therefore making it invisible through the viewing of cameras, reflections in mirrored surfaces or window panels. Any foreign materials and liquids that impede direct line of sight also result in the manifestation of SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties, such as rainfall partially obscuring it's body and translucent surfaces completely hiding its figure. SCP-XXXX also does not appear on any photographs made of it. These anomalous properties extend to all materials and objects in direct contact with it, such as clothing or handheld objects. The extent of this effect is currently pending further research, see Test Log XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX started showing its anomalous properties after ingesting an anomalous pill given to it by the Person of Interest known as *. These anomalous properties have resulted from the entities severe social anxiety disorder, a result from a traumatic event earlier in its life.

█/█/2019: Researcher Dr. Wagner

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: SCP-XXXX is ordered to walk behind a 2x5m glass window while a male D-Class observes it, not breaking line of sight. Two armed personnel are also stationed in the room for observation purposes while Dr. Wagner observes the proceedings through a wall-mounted security camera. It is of note that SCP-XXXX does not appear to have a shadow.

Result: The D-Class describes SCP-XXXX as having "simply disappeared" after it stepped behind the glass panel. The two armed personnel support his observation, saying that it seemed like the specimen stepped behind a solid, non-translucent wall. Dr. Wagner was not able to see the specimen at any point during the experiment.

Note: SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties seem to manifest the moment line of sight is broken between an observer and the specimen. This likely also extends to any solid material blocking line of sight, although further testing is required to make sure of this. The fact that SCP-XXXX is visible even though line of sight is technically broken due to air particles means that the anomalous effect likely does not affect gasses. The specimen also appears to either reflect or absorb any light cast on its body in some anomalous way, explaining the loss of vision when placed behind an object. Why the specimen still has features and shows color when observed is currently unknown.

Procedure: SCP-XXXX is placed under a standard sprinkler system which is then activated. A D-Class is told to maintain line of sight with the specimen and two armed personnel are again stationed in the room.

Result: After the sprinkler system is turned on, the specimen appears to partially disappear, with the water covering large parts of its body. The D-Class describes the sight as "something straight out of a horror movie", due to the specimen appearing to resemble some kind of ghostly entity. After turning the sprinkler system off, the specimen appears normal to direct observation, even when covered with water.

Note: This confirms that SCP-XXXX is invisible to indirect observation through both solid and liquid matter. The fact that SCP-XXXX appears to be fully visible even in a wet state indicates that its anomalous properties extend to matter in direct contact with the specimen. How far this effect goes should be further researched.

Procedure: A D-Class is told to observe the reflection that SCP-XXXX casts into a mirror. Two armed personnel are stationed in the room.

Result: SCP-XXXX does not appear to have a reflection when observed through a mirror.

Note: SCP-XXXX not having a reflection further shows the specimen's ability to somehow evade all light cast upon it through anomalous means. Based on all currently available information on SCP-XXXX, I would like to recommend the consideration of potential membership in an MTF-Unit if the subject continues to cooperate and possibly shows loyalty to the Foundations cause.

Document #XXXX-00: Further testing of SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties is currently pending approval, and with the available data it is suggested that SCP-XXXX should be considered as a potential member for MTF Alpha-9 ("Last Hope"). The specimen ability to evade all forms of indirect viewing may provide useful for reconnaissance purposes, and the overall cooperation of the specimen to this date shows promise. I recommend continued observation of the specimen behavior over the next year, while also awaiting further testing results to pinpoint the extent of its anomalous effect before making a decision.

<Begin Log>

SCP-XXXXis escorted into the interview room by two armed personnel and sits on a chair across Researcher Dr. Wagner.

Dr. Wagner: Hello. Nice to meet you, my name is Dr. Wagner.

SCP-XXXXappears nervous but flashes a short smile, hastily responding.

SCP-XXXX: Hello, nice to meet you too. My name is Helmut, although no-one seems to want to respond to me by name. All they call me is this weird number.

SCP-XXXX lets out a soft chuckle while looking at the ground.

Dr. Wagner: I am sorry to hear that Helmut, you must excuse them. They are only following standard procedure. I do hope that you were not treated too roughly by our security personnel.

Hearing that SCP-XXXX looks up, confusion becoming visible on its face.

SCP-XXXX: Although I was quite shocked at first, I was already kind of expecting something like this to happen. With all this strange stuff happening to me lately it was only a matter of time before some government agency were to kidnap me.

Dr. Wagner: I can assure you that we are not any kind of government agency, we are merely trying to protect you and figure out what is special about you.

SCP-XXXX seems to ease up, looking at Dr. Wagner with a questioning look.

SCP-XXXX: It's probably more like protecting others from me, isn't it? I don't know what happened to me, but it's sure as hell not normal.

Dr. Wagner: That is merely one part of it, we do not know if your anomalous effect poses any kind of danger to you and your surroundings. Can we begin questioning now?

SCP-XXXX: Sure, might as well get it over with. Ask away doctor.

Dr. Wagner procures a notepad from one of the drawers in the desk and begins reading.

Dr. Wagner: Okay, let us start off simple. About when did you first experience the anomalous effect?

SCP-XXXX: I honestly don't know. I just woke up one day feeling nothing out of the ordinary whatsoever. After entering the bathroom and looking into the mirror to shave I just suddenly realized that I was not able to see my reflection anymore. At first I thought that it was because I drank too much at a party I went to the day before and my head was playing some kind of trick on me, but after washing my face with cold water and looking back into the mirror I was still not able to see my reflection.

Dr. Wagner: Did you take any mind altering substances at this party by any chance? Do not worry, like I said before, we do not work for the government and will not seek to prosecute you if that was the case.

SCP-XXXX looks at Dr. Wagner with a suspicious look, but after thinking for a bit he decides to answer the question.

SCP-XXXX: Well, another attendee of that party offered me some kind of white pill, telling me that it was some kind of new and crazy drug. I am usually not the kind of person that would accept random pills from strangers, but the way he talked and acted somehow assured me that he meant no harm, and I decided to trust him. After I took it, I did not really feel anything out of the ordinary, so I thought that he had given me some kind of dud.

Dr. Wagner: Are you absolutely sure that you did not feel anything after taking the pill?

SCP-XXXX thinks about the question and responds after a short while

SCP-XXXX: Now that I think about it, I did feel unusually tired after taking it, although I accounted that to all the alcohol I was drinking and the late shift I had worked on that day.

Dr. Wagner writes down something on her notepad and asks another question

Dr. Wagner: Excellent, could you perhaps describe the man that offered you the pill?

SCP-XXXX again takes on a thoughtful expression and soon answers the question with a confused look on his face

SCP-XXXX: I’m sorry, but I can honestly not recall anything about him. It seems that whenever I try to think about him, my thoughts somehow begin to wander to other things.

After writing something else down, Dr. Wagner looks up again

Dr. Wagner: Alright, that will be it for today. Thank you for answering my questions, we will continue questioning at a later date. You will now be shown back to your accommodation by my colleagues.

Update: All participants of the aforementioned social gathering were later questioned about the possibly anomalous entity that handed the pill to SCP-XXXX, yet none were able to remember any such person. Why the anomalous entity only gave the pill in question to SCP-XXXX is unknown, and further research into the nature of the pill and the possible Group of Interest the entity belongs to is currently ongoing. Further research has revealed that the anomalous entity in question is the Person of Interest known as *. Blood tests of SCP-XXXX came back inconclusive. All civilians questioned were giving Class B amnestics.
