Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be contained in a standard containment locker in site-19. Testing with SCP-XXXX is only to be conducted under Level-3 clearance or higher. The locker is to be cleaned and dusted regularly, personnel are not to make any direct eye contact with the painting, and all who clean the painting's locker must be female.
To prevent any incidents SCP-XXXX is to be covered with a simple white sheet, this sheet is not to be removed under any circumstances.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a simple 4x4 painting depicts a woman falling from a building. On the bottom half of the painting are arms extended towards the woman, supposedly to catch her. The painting is made of simple acrylic, however, despite it's age the painting is moist when touched. No matter what changes in temperature occur the painting remains wet, but the paint does not drip or melt when heat is applied.
There have many reports of the painting changing. The number of arms seen in the painting have been known to change. Initially when the painting was first recovered there was a total of 17 definable arms. That number has since decreased to 10.
There have also been reports of the woman's face in the painting changing expression, there have been reports of everything from fearful to angry facial expressions.
Other minor details of the painting include:
- The woman wears a distinct cross on her neck.
- The woman as a noticeable scar on her wrist, stretching from the palm of her hand to her elbow.
- One of the arms on the painting has a noticeable tattoo on it's arm. This particular arm has disappeared from the painting. Photo evidence of it's existence has been logged and saved.
Initial Recovery: SCP-XXXX was brought to Foundation attention on October 2, █ █ █ █, when a man was reported missing after having purchased the painting from a garage sale. The man, Jonathan [REDACTED], was reported missing roughly a week after purchasing the painting, locals are on record stating that he was acting strange the last couple of days leading up to his disappearance. He had become a hermit of sorts, despite being a formerly very outgoing man.
Local police checked his home and found the painting, the rest of the home was untouched. The painting was kept in a shrine of sorts, with a dozen or so candles surrounding it as stated in the police reports. Male officers at the scene reported feeling ill and woozy in the presence of the painting. The painting was later take into Foundation care after two male officers began to express an extreme irrational fondness for the painting. One of the two officer's also disappeared, the other had to take leave in order to receive extensive treatment for his unhealthy infatuation with the painting.
