Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-2 through SCP-XXXX-7 are to be contained inside of SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be kept in a 50cm x 50cm x 50cm safe with a numerical keypad lock. The combination of said lock is to be disclosed only to authorized personnel of level-2 or higher. All testing of SCP-XXXX must be overseen by at least one researcher of level-3 or higher clearance. A record should be kept on the actions of all individuals under the influence of SCP-XXXX during testing.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a D&D 5th edition starter set box with the dimensions of 23cm x 30cm x 5cm (SCP-XXXX-1). The only components found in SCP-XXXX-1 are a four-sided die(SCP-XXXX-2), a six-sided die (SCP-XXXX-3), an eight-sided die (SCP-XXXX-4), a ten-sided die (SCP-XXXX-5), a twelve-sided die (SCP-XXXX-6), and a twenty-sided die (SCP-XXXX-7).

When any Sapient creature directly touches SCP-XXXX-2 through SCP-XXXX-7, subjects claim to hear a deep, booming voice tell them to "Create Your Character".1 Subjects then report seeing a standard D&D 5th edition character sheet (SCP-XXXX-8) and a copy of a D&D 5th edition Player's Handbook (SCP-XXXX-9), despite no such objects being visible to others. If a subject does not touch either SCP-XXXX-8 or SCP-XXXX-9 within five minutes of first seeing them, the subjects claim to hear the same deep and booming voice say "Fine, I didn't want you to play anyway!", and that SCP-XXXX-8 and
SCP-XXXX-9 disappear. However, if a subject fills out SCP-XXXX-8 following the rules listed in SCP-XXXX-9, they report that the voice seems pleased with them.

Subjects now report being transported to a different area, the area differs from subject to subject.2 The subjects now claim that the voice begins to tell a story. Subjects claim that as the voice narrates, the events being told begin to unfold around the subjects.

The subjects now claim that they are given free will to move about the area they are in, however, the subject does not move from where they were prior to when they claim they left the facility. Subjects claim that whenever they do an action of any sort, the voice narrates how the action plays out. Whenever a subject claims they perform an action, they are recorded to roll one of SCP-XXXX-2 through SCP-XXXX-7. Subjects claim to be able to do things they never could normally.3

After 4 hours of contact with SCP-XXXX, subjects report that the voice seems happy. They then claim to be transported back to where they first came into contact with SCP-XXXX.4

Testing Log: XXXX-2 XXXX-2 was chosen due to his apparent enthusiasm about using SCP-XXXX.

1130 XXXX-2:"Woah, is that D&D? I haven't played that since high school!" XXXX-2 proceeds to touch SCP-XXXX-7. "Ummm, who was that!? Where did those come from!" XXXX-2 is asked to fill out SCP-XXXX-8 following the rules of SCP-XXXX-9. XXXX-2 complies.

1227 XXXX-2: "What's going on! Where am I going!?" XXXX-2 is asked to describe his surroundings. "Alright, so I'm in this big like, wooden village, and this voice is telling me that the mayor of the town has a request for me. Now there's this fat guy walking towards me. He says he's the mayor. This is so cool! It's like I'm actually in a D&D game!"

1230 XXXX-2: "So basically, the mayor's daughter has been kidnapped by a band of orcs who've been terrorizing the village for the past year. Apparently, he wants me to try and save her. Oh man, this is gonna' be fun!"

1257 XXXX-2: "I just got into a bar-fight with 3 dudes and I beat them! Since when could I use a sword so well?"

1343 XXXX-2: "I found the orc's hideout. I'm going in."

1412 XXXX-2: "This place is loaded with traps, but I just found a giant ruby! There's gotta be more treasure right?"

1436 XXXX-2: "The orc's leader is asleep, here goes nothing!"

1437 XXXX-2: "BAD IDEA! BAD IDEA!"

1502 XXXX-2: " I think I finally shook them off my trail. There were a lot more in there than I thought. At least I still got my Rub-… NOOOOOOO! MY RUBY! IT'S GONE!"

1530 XXXX-2: " Oh, it's over? That was fun! Can I do it again?'
