Figure X-A: The case containing SCP-X.

Description: SCP-X is a VHS tape containing an anomalous bootleg copy of the 2002 film adaption of Samuel Beckett's one-act play, Krapp's Last Tape, directed by Atom Egoyan. The cover features a handrawn depiction of the single character of the film, Krapp, as well as the title and author. Additionally, the logo for a French film company known as "Sensation d'Information" can be observed in the bottom left corner of the cover. This logo is also displayed at the beginning of the film.

The anomaly manifests whenever the tape is played, with the contents changing based on the subject playing the tape. When played by a subject, the title will appear in a Times New Roman font. The name of the title, however, will be altered to include the viewer's name instead of the name "Krapp". Following a distorted transition, a character will appear, sitting at a table. Compared to original versions of the film, it appears the character will always replace the character of Krapp for the duration of the runtime. The character appears as an older version of the sole viewer. The script of the film is also heavily altered every viewing, with the tapes played recounting various memories of the viewer's life, a majority of them private in nature.

Tests with multiple viewers have demonstrated that the film will simply not play unless there is a single viewer. The film instead displays a disclaimer that reads the following (translated from French):

It's always nice to reminisce with friends about the times you shared together.

This film will not be discussing those times. It will discuss times that you would rather not share with those around you. They are for your ears, and yours alone.

Please, allow yourself to experience this film for all it is on your lonesome. It is the way we designed it for!

Sincerely,

The Sensation d'Information Team
