February 2021: Flight 2: Onion Choppers

General Overview: Welcome aboard officers! I'm glad you could all make it to this wonderful (currently unnamed flight). The members of this flight are myself (Dr Sage Evergreen), REDESERT, and Dr Itzhak. This flight will run from February 14th to February 28th, and will require all members to perform at least one critique per day. We will be using PMs in order to communicate, and this Sandbox to keep track of everything else. The responsibilities of all officers are listed as follows:

Goals:
I'd like you to aim to have at__ least one critique on the concepts forum a day, but as always, if you can do more, certainly feel free to do so! I also want you to try and do __seven draft critiques throughout the entirety of the flight. You can feel free to decide the genres, lengths, and types of pieces you look over: just make sure you have a variety. Try and make sure you review a good number of tales as well! While you go through and critique your works, I want you to try and have shorter critiques. I've noticed most of the time, you like to have a line by line critique. Perhaps, instead of doing so, provide a general overview of what they need to work on, and instead of quoting every single line, only cite a few that highlight your point. You also do really well with following up with the people you critique, so keep up that good work! As for the narrative, make sure that in the concepts you review, the story has significance, and comprehensible to the average reader. When critiquing concepts, feel free to highlight potential plot points, and ask writers to focus on the "Why" or "How" of their SCP, rather than the "Who" or the "What". When writing drafts, make sure to pay attention to the tone of the story, the word choice, and the pacing. When it comes to writing the work out, these are some of the most vital parts of making it an intriguing piece. On a final note, make sure you send me a daily pm with the links to critiques you posted that day, and I'll put them on this sandbox to keep a record. Please also let me know if you ever need a break, or if the goals need to be adjusted in any way, and I'll work with you to ensure you have a successful and enjoyable flight!

Goals:

• Please aim to have at least one concept critique per day. For the time being, I'd like you to refrain from critiquing drafts until you're able to successfully review concepts. Small steps!
• Try to focus on quality rather than quantity. I'd rather you make one high-quality post than ten low-quality and unhelpful ones.
• Follow up by re-checking the thread after you post, and reply to any comments made by the staff or OP.
• Critique concepts of varying genres, types, and lengths. Try and do at least one concept involving romance.

• Please try and put a bit more effort into your critiques: I don't want to sound harsh, but becoming a critter requires a lot of time and dedication, and I want you to make sure you try and fulfill that.
