SCP-4207-A before being moved to ARC Site-48.
SCP-4207-B is seen in the background, tilted at a 70° angle.
Item #: SCP-4207
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4207's chamber must be an acting Faraday Cage, with SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B fixated no less than six meters apart from each other. Each must be eight (8) meters from the walls of the chamber. The Faraday Cage will have a 88cm x 203cm x 152cm room connected, with two sliding doors that complete and break the cage. One will be on the outside (to enter the 'airlock') and inside (to enter the cage). One door must close completely before the other is opened, otherwise the Faraday cage may be breached. Revised, See Incident Reports A & B.
SCP-4207's chamber must be an acting Faraday Cage, completely insulated from the rest of the facility's walls, wires, and main doors using a high-density polyethylene. The Faraday Cage must be grounded to the Earth directly without touching the Facility on the way.
SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B will be fixated no less than six meters apart from each other, and eight meters away from the walls of the chamber.
Personnel entering the cage must be equipped with rubber shoes and gloves, as well a rain-suit for clothing. All items must be left outside the containment chamber unless deemed safe for usage inside SCP-4207.
The chamber shall be monitored by infrared cameras at all times, which will output alerts to the team assigned to SCP-4207 when any extreme change in temperature is detected outside the cell's perimeter. One Security Officer who has passed Comprehensive Eye Testing is to watch the camera at all times.
During any future experiments involving SCP-4207, the team shall consist of no less than three Researchers, two Security Officers, and two certified emergency medical staff. At least one researcher who has passed Comprehensive Eye Testing should be assigned to watch the infrared cameras. Should they spot SCP-4207-C moving, they are to immediately alert the team working on the experiment.
Note from Dr. Hawkins: Although initially deemed safe, all experiments involving SCP-4207 from here on out are to use D-Class personnel to enter the Faraday Cage. See Incident Report C for more details.
Description: SCP-4207 is two US-Manufactured "No Outlet" signs standing at 2.13m, designated SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B, that emit a strong electromagnetic field capable of damaging unprotected equipment around the area between themselves. Both signs exhibit relatively worn features, such as fading of paint and rust along their metal stands. Ninety percent (90%) of SCP-4207-A's paint appears removed, however the letters spelling "No Outlet" remain unchanged. SCP-4207-B is not missing any paint despite its counterpart.
SCP-4207 was discovered in [DATA EXPUNGED], while visiting his family just fifty (50) meters away. He was notified of the site's properties and immediately followed containment procedures. [REDACTED] and the surrounding two kilometers were temporarily evacuated with an appropriate cover story, while examination of SCP-4207 began.
Once it was confirmed that SCP-4207 could be moved successfully, it was transported to ARC Site-48 and contained following initial Special Containment Procedures. The original area was cleared of three feet of soil in a 100 foot radius, and deemed safe for civilians after it was provided with two replacement signs of identical appearance.
Upon a subject walking in between SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B, no immediate anomalies are noted. However, if they continue to walk in the opposite direction they entered from, the subject will stand still and become unresponsive to any stimulation, including violence. Subjects report an uneasy feeling, driving them to get out as soon as they can. They describe walking, never getting any closer to the sign, but constantly getting closer to the source of fear. The amount of time they remain in this state depends on how long they tried to reach the end, before overcoming their fear and turning the other way. Upon doing so, they once again become animate, and typically collapse due to dizziness and nausea.
Subjects who were cut and scraped during their frozen state reported not feeling or seeing their attacker, nor the wounds inflicted, until leaving the signs. Further attempts to harm them resulted in the same outcome. Moving a subject out from between the signs has had no effect on their state of being, and they will continue to remain unresponsive until they have “left”.
SCP-4207 has made consistent attempts to escape containment, and on some cases has been successful. Even under monitoring, SCP-4207 will try to move to a different position. This is seen by infrared equipment, which shows a trail of heat from SCP-4207 through conductible material (Including the Faraday Cage). This entity of 'heat' is identified as SCP-4207-C. The signs themselves remain in place until SCP-4207-C reaches a suitable position for placement, which does not usually fall under a 2x6 meter perimeter (such as hallways).
SCP-4207-C will continue to move until SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B are interfered with, in which case it will instantaneously return to the site it left the signs.
No personnel have been harmed during its movements throughout the facility, as SCP-4207's size has typically made it noticeable. Some evidence suggests that SCP-4207 is attempting to return to its original position, as it's movement during breaches appears to head in the general direction of [REDACTED].
Incident Report A: While within it's original containment and under monitoring for extra anomalous activity, a trail of heat was picked up by the infrared sensors on facility CCTV. The heat trail, identified as SCP-4207-C, moved through the Faraday Cage and across the wall, breaching containment. SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B disappeared moments later as SCP-4207-C entered a hallway in Light Containment, where SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B then reappeared.
SCP-4207-A and SCP-4207-B were found by Dr. ██████ before Containment Specialists could locate it, and promptly reported it to them. SCP-4207 was re-contained, and following examination of infrared security footage, Special Containment Procedures were revised.
Incident Report B: D-9824 was sent past SCP-4207-A (See Experiment Log 05-B for details). D-9824 reportedly carried a vitals monitoring device inside it's own Faraday Cage to protect from SCP-4207's electromagnetic field.
Infrared cameras detected SCP-4207-C entering the monitoring device but did not alert the team until after it had left the cage. SCP-4207-C was immediately re-contained by sending ████████ to interact with SCP-4207-A before it was moved.
Incident Report C: Senior Researcher ██████ ████████ entered SCP-4207 during Experiment 08-B to gather a more comprehensive description of the affects to be cross-referenced with other SCPs. It is to be noted that this was the 107th experiment since 9/05/197█, with the current date being 3/16/20██, and object had been considered Threat Level Green for over a decade.
██████ ████████ had the appropriately staffed team involved, who kept a close eye on her throughout the experiment. Senior Researcher ██████ ████████, minutes after entering SCP-4207, slowly began to show laceration marks on her arms and legs. Her team could not end the experiment, as only she could exit SCP-4207.
Senior Researcher ██████ ████████ collapsed to the floor, as anticipated by the affects of SCP-4207, but was discovered to be dead when medical staff were sent to retrieve her. Cause of death has been identified as shock. It is currently unknown what sent her into this state, or if the lacerations have any relation to it. Tests involving SCP-4207 are no longer to be conducted with anyone other than Class-D as subjects, as declared by O5-██ after a request from Dr. Hawkins.
Threat Level temporarily updated to Orange, awaiting revised classification by the O5 Council.
