SCP - XXXX
Containment class - S
SCP - XXXX is a 50x40cm painting canvas. It has a basic wooden frame with painting canvas stretched over it. It is held in place with 10 screws along the back sides of the frame. The canvas itself depicts various paintings from Well known artists around the world. It only ever shows one painting at a time and it only ever chooses paintings that have its exact measurements. The paint on the canvas is lead based and because of this hands must be washed after handling.
There have been 4 recorded cases of people seeing the canvas create a painting; it was described as adding each brush stroke individually as if it were reenacting what the artist did. There is no brush or paint present when new paintings are recreated. When it does create paintings, the old painting is just painted over.
When compared with the original, the paintings are almost exactly the same. However, small figures have been added into the background of all paintings. It is unknown who these people are or why they have been added in.
The painting has been related to the disappearance of 1 D-class individual, this was during the only test done on the painting. The test involved adding paint by hand to the picture. All went well in testing and the paint was added successfully. However, 6 months later when the canvas created its next artwork, the D-Class individual was no where to be found and there was another mysterious figure in the background. The figure was small and blurry, but had a clear orange shirt and pants.
Containment for the canvas was originally a small briefcase in a storage locker, but few people had ever observed the painting at work so it has since been moved into a glass case hung up in a researcher's office. It poses no immediate danger and is easily contained, but all direct contact with the canvas is not advised.
