SCP-6005 growths in a civilian garden.

Item #: SCP-6005

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Samples of SCP-6005 are stored in a 4 m x 4 m room with a dim overhead light and a grass covered floor. Any living thing that physically makes contact with SCP-6005 must be contained in a locked container for several days before release.

Description: SCP-6005 appears to be an ordinary nettle plant with arrow-shaped leafs with serrated edges, the underneath covered in bristly hairs, with some on the top as well as the stem. Growing in pairs on opposite sides of the stalk.

Any contact with SCP-6005 causes a stinging sensation and a rash on the point of entry. Unlike normal nettles which send chemicals into the skin, SCP-6005 sends information to the brain, telling the subject that more nettles need to be planted or grown. If this is the case for civilians, they will eventually plant or grow nettles into any soil patches that they can find, usually their garden. After SCP-6005 has fully grown, the subject will persuade any other person to get a closer look at it. If the person does get closer to the SCP, the infected subject will try to push the other person into SCP-6005, causing them to get stung, usually multiple times. They will then become infected and do the same as the other subject.

No cure other than pills of SCP-500 has been tested to stop or block the brain signals of the infection.

Note From Dr. ████:
No pills should be requested to any infected [EXPLETIVE] of SCP-6005 since there is no need. Victims of serious diseases like AIDS or infections from SCP-008 may be allowed access to a pill.

If the subject is contained in a cell in the facility for multiple days without any contact with SCP-6005, the infection will eventually wear off and the subject will be allowed out of the cell.

Growths outside of the facility have not be contained since it would take approximately ██ to ███ years before all growths of it had been stopped. Pesticides like weed killers have not worked, with it only killing the leaves but leaving the stem. One way to tell that SCP-6005 is growing somewhere is that the bottom of the stem is dark brown. This indicates that the plant had been planted or grown using only seeds of SCP-6005-1 (see at bottom of the page).

Addendum 6005-01: Some wild SCP-6500 growths have started to grow up to 4 meters in height. When pliers were used to cut off the stem, it started growing back almost immediately.

Addendum 6005-02: When Dr. Zedd tried watering the SCP-6005 samples, the water quickly dissolved into the leaf and stem. Presumably by the hairs.

Item #: SCP-6005-1

Description: SCP-6005-1 appears to be a collection of brownish plant seeds which can grow SCP-6005 in any soil, wet or dry. Samples of SCP-6500-1 are stored in a closet in office quarters █-███ in Site ██. SCP-6005-1 have never been planted. Samples were retrieved carefully from the inside of the brown bit of an SCP-6005 plant stem.

Addendum 6005-1-01: When SCP-6005-1 is placed in a jug water, it sinks right down to the bottom of the jug, nearly as fast as metal. Is there something inside the seeds that we don't know yet?

Addendum 6005-1-01: SCP-6005-1 has started to display signs of hairs on all sides of it, similar to the ones on SCP-6005 growths. We haven't tested yet if they have the same effect as SCP-6005. I asked Dr. ████ and scientist ████████, should we test this or not? I still haven't got a reply yet. But I think that they do something different. Possibly they can [DATA EXPUNGED].
