Description: SCP-XXXX is the anomalous effect of a nondescript temple located in Peloponnese, Greece. Approximately once a month1, a doorway located in the courtyard of the temple, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, opens to a large labyrinth, containing many dangerous traps and obstacles. According to ancient texts found within SCP-XXXX-1, the podium at the end of the maze must have an offering placed upon it to appease Hephaestus, though the true requirement seems to be any object weighing over 6 ounces.
During the period that the doorway is open, volcanic activity around the world rises tremendously, increasing in activity the longer the podium remains empty. The longest recorded attempt in Foundation history occurred on the 15th of May, 1980, and lasted 5 days, 6 hours.
