Item #: SCP-XXXX (A.K.A. The Fairy Ringed Forest)
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be on video and/or physical surveillance by a minimum of 6 personnel 24/7. Under no circumstance, is any personnel to be within 20 feet of SCP-XXXX physically for their own safety. SCP-XXXX has been surrounded by a 50 foot high fence with barbed wire at the top for civilian safety approximately 5 miles away from the edge of the forest.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a forest containing a variety of foliage seemingly around the globe all in healthy condition. It is also surrounded in a large fairy ring containing various types of fungi; thankfully none appear to be toxic in any nature or give off any effects by themselves.
While SCP-XXXX does look strange given the seemingly random types of trees and bushes most likely not native to the area; SCP-XXXX has the ability to warp to a different location on Earth within every 3-5 days when it's out of anyone's active view. Recording the footage of SCP-XXXX has proven to be extremely difficult so far since the moment it happens, any electronic devices catching the action would reboot instantly. The new location appears to be random along with the foliage, fungi, even the size can differ from a 1 mile radius to the size of ███████. The only connection it does have when choosing a new location, is that it mostly chooses isolated places most likely due to the fact that it's out of anyone's current view at that given time. Reports of SCP-XXXX activity has been recorded in the Sahara Desert, Antarctica, even under the ██████ █████. As of writing this report on ██-██-19██ 13:15 SCP-XXXX is located in the Byrranga Mountains with an estimated radius of 60,008 miles. Digging underneath the forest doesn't seem to be threatening to any personnel so far. However once bypassing the fairy ring underground, a spacial phenomenon will occur transporting anything parallel to the other side of the forest without anyone knowing. It is currently unknown as to how far deep this spacial phenomenon can be occurred underneath SCP-XXXX; more testing is recommend for this spacial phenomenon in general since there isn't alot of data to go off of so far. The ground 10 feet from both sides of the fairy ring seems to be indestructible by any means other than the fungi itself.
While a travelling forest isn't too bad, the real threat is when any living organic organisms steps beyond the edge of the fairy ring. When anything that is sentient steps inside the ring or is lower than 500 feet above the tallest tree point in the forest will be come to be known as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 will be given multiple strange properties not available to anyone outside the ring; stepping back outside the ring will NOT reverse the effect. The effects that SCP-XXXX-1 gains are as follows…
- When SCP-XXXX-1 is out of line of sight of anyone at any given moment combined with the fact that SCP-XXXX-1 is blind, blinking, blindfolded, etc. They will suddenly disappear only leaving their clothing and anything on their person. It is currently unknown if they are terminated, travel to somewhere else in the universe, to a different dimension, or to a different timeline.
- SCP-XXXX-1 will start to hear a faint tune of some sorts coming from presumably the center of the forest after about 7 minutes continuously no matter where SCP-XXXX-1 is located. However no reports show anything too unique in the center of the forest and tune seems to be different everytime.
- Whenever SCP-XXXX-1 crosses the fairy ring by any means; they will have a sudden but brief urge to travel deeper into the forest to find the █████ ████. It is currently unknown what this entity is.
- SCP-XXXX-1 will oddly have the ability to damage the trees normally. Anything that tries to break down the tress that is outside the ring will have no effect other than metallic sounds as if the trees are hollowed metal. However SCP-XXXX-1 can successfully chop down these trees but they release toxic spores when damaged. The toxic spores has multiple effects depending on how much any personnel was exposed to it and symptoms csn last from several hours to a lunar month. Contamination gear has done very little to stopping it's effects; thankfully the spores disappear after a minute. The following list is ordered from least to most exposure when it comes to symptoms…
- Coughing
- Sneezing
- Rash
- Bloody nose
- Insomnia
- Paranoia
- Vomiting
- Schizophrenia
