Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-xxxx is to be kept in an air tight, steel reinforced room and door. Inside SCP-xxxx’s containment chamber is a near perfect vacuum only accessible through a 2 door airlock system. Personnel accessing SCP-xxxx must have on a space suit before attempting to enter SCP-xxxx’s containment chamber. This is due to the fact that SCP-xxxx is contained inside a vacuum. This SCP must remain in a vacuum at all times because air from the alternate dimension and our dimension will collide and create a nuclear hell fire of energy otherwise. The steel doors aren’t meant to keep the SCP in, rather keep external threats out in the event of a containment breach of other SCPs in the site. The floor of the containment chamber is aligned with many magnets which will levitate any magnetic object dropped.
Description:
SCP-xxxx is a square shaped mirror with 2 steel rods on both top and bottom, which is used to suspend the mirror off of the ground magnetically. SCP-xxxx at first glance is a normal mirror, but it's actually a portal to an alternate reality which is identical to our reality except one key difference. The alternate dimension it accesses is made completely of antimatter. The only objects seemingly unaffected by the anti-matter are the 2 steel rods connected to SCP-xxxx. The steel rods were found with the SCP attached to it. The magnetic suspension is achieved with permanent magnets as the O5 council has ruled the use of electromagnets too risky in the event of a power outage.

The main use of SCP-xxxx is to harvest antimatter for antimatter explosives and power generation. The way this is done is by getting a special magnetic levitation device close to the mirror and using carefully aligned magnetic fields, pulls antimatter from the surface of the mirror. It seems as though the mirror acts as a converter because the amount of antimatter pulled from the mirror equals the amount of matter pulled out of our universe. On either side when matter was put in, anti-matter would come out the other end. So if an iron ingot was to be placed inside one end of the mirror, the ingot on the other end would come out as a pure antimatter iron ingot. Which is the process used to harvest antimatter from SCP-xxxx. Because iron is a commonly found element on earth, and because of its magnetic properties, it is easy to access it enmass and convert without making physical contact with SCP-xxxx. Magnetically the iron ingot is both placed in and harvested from either end with magnetic levitation tools. The converted Iron ingot is then magnetically suspended in a air tight box and is then triple sealed with a vacuum before personnel in the SCP-xxxx’s containment chamber are allowed to exit. The then harvested antimatter is used to create antimatter explosives and is also used in foundation antimatter generators.
SCP origin:
SCP-xxxx was discovered when a fire in the middle of florida was discovered. Which was unusual because the region where the fire started was not only near a small town but it was also near densely packed rain forests, which were damp and hard to ignite. When the US government could not put the fire out but only contain it to a certain region for 3 months, the SCP foundation was called. No normal fire could burn for 3 months and not go out due to fuel exhaustion. The SCP foundation managed to locate the source to a small lab nearby, and since water and other methods of fire containment proved ineffective and put out the fire near the small town, the SCP foundation put a vacuum seal around the entire area. In an attempt to stuff the fire out. This was the only method which seemed to make the fire smaller, after sealing the area in a complete vacuum for a month, the fire died down to the point where SCP foundation agents were able to put on space suits and contain the source of the fire. The main fire seemed to start from a mirror, when anything slipped in it would come out the other side and explode. This was later discovered to be a nuclear fire started by antimatter air colliding with normal matter air from our universe. This process was stopped when the entire area was sealed off in a vacuum, and the fire would occasionally spike when something fell in the mirror. After many missions into the fire, after many lives were lost trying to contain the anomaly, after the O5 council discussed the risks of just containing the anomaly in the huge vacuum seal, SCP foundation agents were able to recover the antimatter mirror portal.
By the time SCP foundation agents managed to secure the mirror, SCP foundation scientists already knew a lot about the anomalous mirror due to the number of missions the SCP foundation has launched in an effort to contain such an SCP. And they were prepared, they put the mirror in a magnetically suspended, vacuum sealed transport module. Which was then flown out and into site [redacted].
