Scp-XXXX prior to permanent containment

rating: 0+x

Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX was stored in a Standard Containment locker at Site-███, Guarded by 1 on-site security officer in a Semi-Weekly shift, rotating every 4 hours. A single sensor is placed inside of SCP-XXXX’s locker, recording ██████ levels inside of the locker and alerting on-site staff if ██████ Levels have risen past a threshold of 1/16 per Millimeter of space. During such an event, one guard shall replace the current guard watching SCP-XXXX’s containment.

Update: SCP-XXXX has been placed in permanent confinement following Experiment 5 on February 16th, 2001. SCP-XXXX was placed in a 40mm (1.5in) steel case deployed with a GPS tracking unit. SCP-XXXX was placed 200 feet underground in ███████ and sealed once again with rock. A fake tree was placed above the location of SCP-XXXX’s permanent containment location. 4 security officers posing as wildlife agents are to form a 20m (65ft) perimeter around the location and stop any humans from approaching the area under the pretense of “protecting an endangered species of bird nesting in the tree”.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a traditional Roman Aureus coin, dated 30 BC. Carved on the front of the coin is the visage of Gaius Octavius Thurinus. Carved on the back is a skeletal replica of the image. If SCP-XXXX is within line-of-sight with a sentient creature that is capable of flipping a coin, the creature will begin to hear a voice in their head. All subjects report the voice is identical to that of a parental figure in their lives, most often a mother. If there is a creature meeting those requirements out of line of sight within a range of 2m (6.5ft) SCP-XXXX will release a traceable amount of ██████ causing affected subjects to become docile and unfocused until contact with SCP-XXXX is gained. If no contact is made after 48 hours, the subject will enter a state of comatose.

Once a subject has picked up the coin, The coin will ask for the subject to state a “wish”. After the subject has stated a request, the subject is directed by the voice to flip the coin. If the coin lands on the image of Octavian, the request by the subject is fulfilled. If the coin lands on the skeletal replica, all life functions of the subject will immediately expire and will begin to decay until only the bones remain.

Addendum #1: SCP-XXXX was recovered on ██/█/1999 From the Weaver Coin Auction in Easton, Missouri by Agent ██████ after the foundation was contacted by the Easton police department following the strange and sudden disappearance of 5 employees. Once the agent entered the facility, Agent ██████ noticed the sound of muted breathing behind a case of 1800’s old world coins. Agent ██████ checked behind the case, to find former employee, ██████, █████ holding SCP-XXXX. The agent took the employee into foundation custody and separated the man from SCP-XXXX. The man stated that he had only “Wished his stupid coworkers would go away” while holding the coin, and suddenly heard his mother’s voice urging him to flip it. Once he did so, his co-workers suddenly began to,” Disappear before his very eyes”. SCP-XXXX was placed into containment. ██████, █████ was given Class-B amnestics and released.
