Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to have a 4 m tall steel wall surround it at all times. There must be 1 armed guard situated every 500 m along the steel wall to make sure no one breaches it and enters SCP-XXXX.
Description:SCP-XXXX is a medium sized lake located in Russia that is approximately 3 km in area. The water comes from glaciers in the mountains nearby, and it runs off into a small river that goes underground roughly 5 km north from SCP-XXXX. This river is fenced off at all times. The water that runs into SCP-XXXX does not display any anomalous effects, although water taken directly from SCP-XXXX does.
SCP-XXXXs anomalous properties affect any organic entity that enters its water. Entities in the water of SCP-XXXX have their natural aging process sped up considerably, to the point where a 20 year old human standing fully submerged in the water for five minutes ages 60 years. If an entity in SCP-XXXX has reached their natural death point while standing in the water, they will not die but their bodies will continue to deteriorate, rotting away until almost nothing is left. Research on SCP-XXXX has proved that entities are not able to die when standing in the water, even if all their vital organs are gone. Entities in SCP-XXXX will immediately decease as soon as they are removed from the water of SCP-XXXX.
Large amounts of fish and other marine life exists in SCP-XXXX, including different types of Carp and Sturgeon. These creatures are classified as instances of SCP-XXXX-A. These animals behave like they normally would, seemingly not bothered by their bodies rapidly rotting. They eat, swim, sleep, mate, and fight, regardless of whether they retain the proper organs to do so. Specimens of SCP-XXXX-A are believed to be hundreds of years old due to the properties of SCP-XXXX, but it is difficult to conduct research on them as their bodies disintegrate as soon as they are taken out of the water.
Although plant life has been found in SCP-XXXX, there seems to be considerably less than the average lake of a similar size and location. All SCP-XXXX-A instances appear to be purely carnivorous even when the species they are from are herbivores or omnivores. Larger SCP-XXXX-A instances will prey on smaller creatures, while the smaller ones themselves will feed mainly on scraps. It is unknown how, or if, SCP-XXXX-A instances are able to digest their food.
The foundation gained knowledge of SCP-XXXX from a small local village who had rumors about the lake. They warned their children not to go near it and called it “The Ageing Pool”. Citizens of the village were all given Class-C amnestics and were relocated to a different village.
