Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Two (2) D-Class personnel are to be assigned to SCP-XXXX at any given time. SCP-XXXX is to be allowed unlimited communication and interaction with the subjects and the subjects are to be exempt from monthly termination. All other staff is to deny SCP-XXXX access to all mental processes except thoughts designated for communication with SCP-XXXX when not testing.
In the event that SCP-XXXX has no communication with foundation personnel for ten (10) minutes or otherwise is suspected to have breached containment, one (1) of the assigned D-class is to be terminated and replaced within twenty-four (24) hours. SCP-XXXX is to be located and retrieved with all new hosts taken into custody or terminated.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a incorporeal entity capable of reading and overriding a person’s thoughts and senses. SCP-XXXX has no body or location, existing only in whichever mind it chooses. SCP-XXXX is capable of transferring between minds at will, but only between those it has encountered via a host’s senses. By default, SCP-XXXX can only communicate with its host by inserting thoughts1 and reading those deliberately sent as messages. However, SCP-XXXX can request permission to its host’s senses, consciousness, subconsciousness, and memories. Each of these can be granted and revoked in part or in whole by the host, including while SCP-XXXX is inhabiting a different mind. Further detail in what SCP-XXXX can access can be done through what it calls “read-write” and “read-only” modes, the difference being that the former allows manipulation while the latter only allows observation.
SCP-XXXX consistently scores above average in IQ tests, but has demonstrated the maturity of a 16-18 year old. Its preferred “thought-voice” is male and, when given read-write access to vision, inserts itself as a 16-18 year old male in jeans and an unmarked grey sweatshirt2. SCP-XXXX has generally been cooperative with experiments, but when questioned about its origin, SCP-XXXX avoids answering the question, referencing popular fiction in contradicting statements. Upon threat of D-7911’s termination, SCP-XXXX has stated that it is unaware of its origin.
When given opportunity, SCP-XXXX likes to “play” with its host3. This typically involves disabling the host’s motor skills and replacing their senses with entirely fabricated ones. These typically take the form of a generic location, such as a forest or mountain or abandoned city, with SCP-XXXX nearby. It then initiated a mock battle, granting the host partial control over the illusory world.
“…so he was moving too fast, right? I couldn’t keep up, so I decided to make a huge explosion centered around my body to push him back, but after the smoke cleared, I saw that it only left a trail of blood down the side of his mouth and his sweatshirt mostly destroyed, so he came shooting back towards me and…” - Dr. ███, excitedly explaining Test D

“We would like to remind all staff that giving SCP-XXXX memory access is punishable by termination” -Dr. ███████
Test BL - ██/██/████
Subject: D-4973
Procedure: SCP-XXXX asked to inflict pain on subject
Results: SCP-XXXX was unwilling. Upon termination of D-9711, SCP-XXXX complied, giving D-4973 low pain for a short duration.
Notes: D-2059 assigned to SCP-XXXX as a replacement.
