Item #: SCP-3XXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3XXX is to be contained in an insulated 45x45x16m concrete chamber reinforced with steel-[REDACTED] alloy 40cm thick. A 28x28x16m side chamber capable of being accessed by SCP-3XXX is to be connected to the main chamber via double airlock doors for the purpose of maintenance. If SCP-3XXX requests assistance in maintaining its cybernetics, a team of no more than four engineers may be permitted to provide assistance. No tools are to be left in the side chamber when SCP-3XXX is alone in the case that they are used to breach containment, or harm itself. The main chamber is to be sealed off from the facility via two hydraulic airlock doors of the same alloy and thickness as the chamber’s reinforcement. The bottom of the chamber is to be filled with soil a meter high, and planted with grasses and shrubs native to its natural habitat. The humidity and temperature of SCP-3XXX’s chamber is to also be set to similar conditions to that of its natural habitat. The side chamber’s temperature is to be kept at constant room temperature, and dehumidified to prevent humidity from interfering with its cybernetics during repairs.

SCP-3XXX is to be fed a diet of native fruits and meats of both domestic and native fauna. It isn’t uncommon that SCP-3XXX may ask for a more sophisticated “human-like” meal, although it is limited to three special food request per month. SCP-3XXX also may request other comfort items, a few of which so far have been of human desires rather than those of its species (ex: bed, toys, and TV access are a few examples of things that SCP-3XXX had requested for in the past). SCP-3XXX may be permitted to have its request fulfilled if they are neither determined to be too costly, do not provides a serious risk of injuring personnel or itself, nor cause a containment breach. Access to these items may be restricted during or before testing of any kind if they are so much as determined to plausibly cause experimental bias.

As of ██/██/1█, When testing with SCP-3XXX, SCP-3XXX is not allowed to be in physical contact with personnel who has not passed a psych exam (see interview 3XXX-004).

As of ██/██/1█, SCP-3XXX is to receive amnestics after testing with consumed D-Class personnel has concluded in order to prevent potential containment breaches or self-harm (see interview 3XXX-045).

Description: SCP-3XXX is a sapient avian entity of a previously unknown species belonging to the bird family Ramphastidae. There are many major physical differences separating SCP-3XXX from the rest of its family. These differences includes a lack of color pigmentation, as well as being 12.2 meters tall, and lacks feather growth on over 63% of its body (contributing to its inability to fly). Its beak has many features that are equipped for eating large prey. Its beak possesses serrated edges, and its lower beak can also move back and forth to easily tear apart meat and bone. The beak’s interior and tongue are also covered in fleshy protrusions pointing towards the back of its throat.

It has cybernetic enhancements throughout its body, particularly in and around the head. The primary cybernetic enhancements are located inside a large, durable rubber tube housing various smaller tubes and wire bundles. The tube has covered in overlapping metallic plating to protect it from damage, and has many long, flexible needle-like protrusion protruding from between the plates that are capable of perceiving touch, pain, and heat. The primary cybernetic enhancement starts from the forehead and runs all the way to the base of its tail. Many wires and tubes extend outwards from the central tube, stretching all throughout its body. The largest concentration of external wires and tubing leads to its eyes, which are encased within a ballistic glass shell full of fluid. It was revealed that a majority of its cybernetics serve as artificial replacements for its cardiovascular, lymphatic, and nervous system, which do not appear to be able to compensate for SCP-3XXXs body size on their own. Its digestive tract also suffer from its unusual size, and have been reinforced with rubber and metallic meshes.

SCP-3XXX has been seen attempting to perform maintenance and repair itself, although still asks for assistance at times when the damages are in a location it cannot reach. SCP-3XXX has been also shown to have very erratic behaviors similar to those with multiple personality disorders. Through interviews, it had been discovered that this is due to SCP-3XXX’s ability to intake brain matter and incorporate it with its own brain. SCP-3XXX claims that it is very afraid of dying, and is constantly paranoid over it, and has been seen talking to itself in order to calm down. SCP-3XXX states that its goal is to stop people from dying, which is with the only way it can, the consumption and incorporation of brain matter from the things it eats.

Since its initiate containment, seven D-Class personnel had been fed to SCP-3XXX. SCP-3XXX can be seen attempting to comfort panicked test subjects before consumption, which generally lasts for 10 to 30 minutes, usually with very limited success. Interviewing SCP-3XXX several days afterward consumption reveals that SCP-3XXX retained all of the memories of the test subjects, even displaying verbal and physical quirks that they possessed when alive.

The original reports of SCP-3XXX's existence came to the foundation's attention in 201█ after several reports of a large cybernetic monster came to light. All of these reports were within a 5km radius of what is now known to be an abandoned laboratory belonging to the Montebourg. The Montebourgs were amongst a group of scientists and engineers, who had defected from the secret research and development department of the french military in 199█. The group was known for stealing billions of dollars worth of experimental and potentially anomalous technology, and going into hiding. While the story itself never made it to the public, it is still considered classified information within the country and its territories.

SCP-3XXX has been interview multiple times by Dr. Pomaret, offering much of the current knowledge we have on SCP-3XXX.
