Item #: SCP-4747
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the effects of SCP-4747’s SCP-4747 is to be held in a noise-cancelling room to prevent its voice from being heard outside of its containment zone, pipes to administer oxygen and carbon dioxide should be in place as well, small enough that it does not breach. The SCP should be monitored at all times.
Description: SCP-4747 is a humanoid entity that can choose whether to be seen or not. SCP-4747 typically stays in a form that allows the viewer to see a type of shadow of it, being 3D and upright like a normal human, but the features and colors are all black. They seem to be wearing either a trench coat or a t-shirt during the times that it is viewable. The anomaly is 1.8 meters (6’0 feet) tall. It was found in a convenience store in Syracuse, New York. Multiple dead bodies was found near the entity, it was sitting on one of the bodies, calmly reading a book to itself. The book was taken when SCP-4747 was placed in containment. Its cover is made of leather of some creature that is not recognizable, the book is not able to be damaged Researchers attempted to translate the book, but so far all of the attempts were futile. During one translation attempt, the book disappeared and was later found in SCP-4747’s hands, showing that it has control over specific objects or entities.
If anyone needs to enter the containment zone, it is required for the person to wear sound-proof headphones. Its voice continuously changes, turning from the voice of an old man, to a little girl, to a middle aged man, and so on and so forth. Never staying the same pitch or voice for more than five minutes. Anyone who heard the SCP read to them was put into a trance. After thirty minutes, the victim would fall to the ground unconscious.
SCP-4747, dubbed ‘The Storyteller’ by the Scientific Department, stopped reading when that happened. It would seem to stare at the asleep body of the person, seemingly taking control of the victim. After a minute or two the person in question would wake up and stand up, and proceed to. It is obvious that the victim is awake and could feel pain, as they would scream, but could not seem to stop. When the victim dies, SCP-4747 drags the bloody body to the door, leaves it there, then goes back to reading in a corner.
After testing, carbon dioxide is to be pumped into the containment zone, as it immobilizes the anomaly.
