SCP-X-4

SCP-X-4 resting.

Item #: SCP-X

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-X are to be contained within a 7200 liter terrarium, being padded with 1 inch of █████ fiber substrate. This terrarium is to be placed inside of a 10mx10m room with no artificial or natural light sources.

This pen should be fitted with 4 ████████-brand basking lights on each corner of the enclosure. 1 large, shallow water pool should be placed inside of the terrarium in the center-area. An 18x18cm piece of slate must be provided and placed near the pool. A daily serving of ~2 pounds of ███████-brand food pellets should be poured on to the piece of slate.

Basking lights are turned off at 20:00 GMT. 21:00 GMT.

Pool should be manually cleaned once every week. Fecal matter in the pen is to be removed as soon as possible, with full substrate replacements monthly.

NO physical contact may be made with SCP-X instances unless for the purpose of testing.

SCP-X-4 IS TO BE KEPT IN A SEPERATE CONTAINMENT CHAMBER, REPLICATING THE PREVIOUS ENCLOSURE. SEE INCIDENT LOG XA

Description: SCP-X instances are a set of 4 Russian Tortoises, (A. horsfieldii) all about 13 cm. long, that consist of:
3 Adult Females [ SCP-X-1, SCP-X-2, SCP-X-3 ]
1 Adult Male [ SCP-X-4 ]

The exact age of all 4 instances is unknown, but it is believed they may be up to 1500 years old. SCP-X-2 has been found to posses a very dark colored shell compared to the other instances, which may possibly be a sign she is much older than the three other tortoises.

SCP-X is completely immortal, and no physical harm can come to any instances. All attempts to damage SCP-X have been found completely unsuccessful. However, each instance reacts differently to attempts at damage. SCP-X-1 deflects damage back to the object that damaged it, SCP-X-2 focuses any damage done to it back in to the object that attempted to damage it, SCP-X-3 cancels out any damage with no anomalous reaction, and SCP-X-4 makes the object damaging it completely stop in place.

Said reactions do not seem to be activated until a force of about 14.8 n/mm^2 or higher is applied.

SCP-X was discovered after Researcher ████████ returning to Site-73 had his car crash in to a seemingly invisible object. Upon exiting to investigate, Researcher ████████ discovered that what he had struck was a small tortoise (SCP-X-3). After this was reported to Site-73 staff, the entity was contained and a search for other tortoises was conducted. 3 other entities (SCP-X-1, SCP-X-2, SCP-X4) were discovered in an approximately 30 feet radius from the vehicular accident.

SCP-X was temporarily held at Site-73 before being moved to its current containment chamber at Biological Containment Site-66.

All biological and housing information on the instances of SCP-X has been provided by Dr. ██████████████ of the Scientific Department.

Test 3 - 3/17/06

Subject: SCP-X-1, D-9120

Procedure: SCP-X-1 will be hit with a hammer by D-9120 in the center of the shell. If no damage is seen, D-9120 will be asked to continue hammering until told to stop.

Results: SCP-X-1 sustained no damage. On the 10th swing, D-9120's hammer bounced off of SCP-X-1 and stabbed D-9120 in the eye. D-9120 was immediately taken to a first aid station. It should be noted the 10th swing was the "hardest swing" by D-9120.

Analysis: SCP-X-1 seems to reflect all incoming damage, however it seems that this is not noticeable until a certain threshold of damage is reached.

Test 7 - 3/23/06

Subject: SCP-X-2, D-9311

Procedure: SCP-X-2 will be hit with a hammer by D-9311 in the center of the shell. If no damage is seen, D-9311 will be asked to continue hammering until told to stop.

Results: SCP-X-2 sustained no damage. The hammer used to smash its shell shattered in to 4 pieces after the first swing.

Analysis: SCP-X-2 seems to be able to channel damage inflicted on it back to the object that hit it.

Test 9 - 3/25/06

Subject: SCP-X-3, D-9412

Procedure: SCP-X-3 will be hit with a hammer by D-9412 in the center of the shell. If no damage is seen, D-9412 will be asked to continue hammering until told to stop.

Results: SCP-X-3 sustained no damage. The hammer simply bounced slightly off the shell in the swings. D-9412 was asked to stop after 30 swings.

Analysis: SCP-X-3 has no anomalous effects to the object that hit it, however is still impervious to damage.

Test 10 - 3/26/06

Subject: SCP-X-4, D-9519

Procedure: SCP-X-4 will be hit with a hammer by D-9519 in the center of the shell. If no damage is seen, D-9519 will be asked to continue hammering until told to stop.

Results: SCP-X-4 sustained no damage. On the first swing, the hammer immediately stopped in place. SD Officer ███████████ was asked to measure the distance between the hammer and the shell. 4mm were measured.

Analysis: SCP-X-4 is able to stop any object in place attempting to damage it within 4mm.
