Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an airtight room with an airlock attached and no windows, SCP-XXXX must be sealed with the iron plate and screwed into position. The airlocks of the room must be equipped with vents to remove any SCP-XXXX-1, seal it in a chamber and ignite it.
If SCP-XXXX-1 escapes the room, unit XXXX is to be sealed, when re-entering an airtight suit of non-organic material is to be worn. After the iron cap is applied, all SCP-XXXX-1 is to be ignited.
If SCP-XXXX has it’s exterior broken, Class-D personal are to enter the room and apply a sheet of metal to the breach, the SCP-XXXX-1 gas is to be removed from the room and ignited. After this the class-D personal will start welding the metal sheet on. A class-A amnestic is then to be taken by the class-D personal.
SCP-XXXX-1 neutralisation:
To neutralize any amount of SCP-XXXX-1 cut off from SCP-XXXX it must be ignited, it will then burn into harmless carbon, with no anomalous properties.
SCP-XXXX theorised neutralisation:
There is no guarantee this method will work
The theoretical way to neutralize SCP-XXXX is: breach SCP-XXXX and then, using a flamethrower or similar instrument that creates large quantities of fire and ignite the large quantities of SCP-XXXX-1 inside the gas tank, as SCP-XXXX has SCP-XXXX-1 flowing through it, it should melt from the heat coming from the inside.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a large gas tank, the output is fitted with an iron plate, which is hinged on one end and can be secured with screws. If the tank is not sealed it constantly emits SCP-XXXX-1 gas, while absorbing other gases into the tank
Organic material is not to be exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 gas. Unless authorised by a foundation member with level 3 or higher clearance.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a translucent gas with a violet colour it is repelled by other clouds of SCP-XXXX-1, therefore it would spread through Area ██ very quickly, and can break through materials like glass if a large amount is in a confined space. The gas has no effect on non-biological materials and it has no known chemical reactions with any materials.
SCP-XXXX-1 is extremely flammable, a single spark could set any amount of it alight, as long as there is a connection, after it is burned it becomes carbon, there are no anomalous properties to this carbon. However it is recommended to ignite SCP-XXXX-1 in a closed chamber so the fire does not spread to any other objects.
Effects of SCP-XXXX-1 Gas:
Biological material exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 is transformed into gold, the gold then slowly spreads across the biological material, including but not limited to wood, fruits/vegetables and human bodies It does not matter if the subject is living or dead, if it was biological at some point in time it can be effected by SCP-XXXX-1.
Judging from the reactions of living subjects we can infer that the prosses causes a great amount of pain. It has been theorized that the effects of SCP-XXXX-1 would effect other anomalous objects, testing this theory would require authorisation from a staff member with level 5 clearance.
The gold the subject is transformed into is 24-karat gold, which has no anomalous properties, it can be: melted, moulded or destroyed. Partially transformed objects are also effected, if the object is removed from SCP-XXXX-1 and the effected section is removed, the effected section continues to transformed while the unaffected section remains normal.

3 Class-D personal were sent in to evaluate what kind of protection is needed to be unaffected by SCP-XXXX-1. D-4592 was not given any special gear to help prevent the effects of the gas; D-1342 was given a suit that completely covered the skin, but it was not airtight; D-8405 was given an airtight hazmat suit.
They were stood at an equal distance from SCP-XXXX before the metal sheet covering the iron plate was remotely unscrewed and removed. D-4592 and D-1342 were near instantaneously transformed into gold, after examining the recording it was discovered that D-4592 was fully transformed in 5.95 seconds, with D-1342 only lasting a little longer at 5.97 seconds. D-8405 was still entirely composed of organic material after one minute.
From this it has been concluded that covering all skin will not stop SCP-XXXX-1’s effects, but an airtight suit will, although if the suit is organic it will turn to gold, trapping the wearer.

To find out if the effects of SCP-XXXX-1 gas can be stopped after they have begun on a subject a ██████ was briefly exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 gas. The plant then began to transform into gold, Several tests were done with this setup.
The first of these was removing contact between the object and SCP-XXXX-1, the object continued to transform into gold.
In the second of these tests after exposure the gas was removed and a leaf of the plant was removed. The main section and the attached leaves still turned to gold while the removed leaf did not.

The third test was carried out on a stick of ██████, the setup of the experiment was identical to the previous ones preformed on plants. After exposure the gas was removed and the stick was cut before the end could be transformed. The end that was cut off did not transform into gold. It was therefore concluded that a similar operation would work if an arm, or similar appendage started to transform.

The most recent test was carried out on a ██████ plant. After exposure to SCP-XXXX-1 wire cutters were used to cut off a leaf that had partially turned to gold, after being separated from the main plant the rest of the leaf continued to transform along with the rest of the plant.
