SCP-XXXX when initially found
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object class: Euclid Keter
Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX should be kept in a Clearance Level #2 cell in a dark room. The button should be covered with a material that prevents it from being pushed. Nobody should enter the room except any D-class. If anybody else enters, they should try their best to blind themselves temporarily in any way. Any update on its behavior should be checked bi-weekly.
SCP-XXXX should be kept in a Level 4 cell. The doors and walls around it should be at least 50 millimeters thick. The button should be covered by any material that will prevent it from being pressed. The object should also be covered in a soundproof box. Any D-class used for testing should be checked for any mental or physical issues after testing. Personal checking the D-class afterwards should wear a Level 3 hazmat suit and gloves. Anybody else planning to enter the cell shall blind themselves and deafen themselves for about 12 hours and should know their most feared way of dying. If the fear is impossible to block out or it affects a part of the facility, then that person should not enter the cell. No guards should be set outside its cell. D-class cells should be put close to the object until further notice. Updates are weekly and the sentence before applies here.
Description: SCP-XXXX was originally found in an abandoned factory in ████, ████. The factory was used to produce many types of electronics. The factory burnt down from a large fire and this button was recovered from it. Several people died in many different ways such as Strangulation, High voltage and Cardiac arrest. Studies showed that people with diseases had no background of Heart problems in their tree. Workers working there did mention a project formulating around this object. Though, nobody knows who or what started this project and how they made it. Foundation assumes people were tempted to hit the button. The object's attributes have changed overtime becoming more aggressive. Stabilizing the procedures is required to prevent this object from turning into an Apollyon class SCP.
SCP-XXXX is a button on a 10 by 10 by 10 millimeter box. The box is hollow and contains nothing inside. Pressing the button will result in killing the nearest person in the way they get scared the most. Looking at the object will result in convincing the subject to press the button out of curiosity. If they don’t have a high enough leveled keycard then it will result in doing everything you can to get in. Even if it means to do the worst things. If a person doesn't die, they will do everything in their power to get someone else to press it. The object also emits sound every once in a while to cause the exact same effect. The object will be pressed without anyone inside. The object that presses the button is SCP-XXXX A which is a motherboard that grew inside of SCP-XXXX. The motherboard will randomly trigger the object into killing someone nearby.
Any attempts of tampering with SCP-XXXX A will lead into extermination from high voltage. Any type of rubber material will not stop the death of the person tampering with it. A test to see what is inside of the box should be tested to see if SCP-XXXX creates an SCP-XXXX B instance. The objects inside of the motherboard are encrypted to the point where even the best hacking methods fail to bypass the system.
Addendum 2985 A: After checking the button on its bi-weekly basis. We have found two interesting things. One, multiple scientists died near the SCP in many different ways. Two, checking the button resulted in a circuit board lying inside of the object. We will conduct tests on this new SCP-XXXX A instance as soon as possible. This SCP seems to be a threat and is threatened of becoming a Keter class. - Dr. ████
Incident log 1: Dr. ████ died from a high voltage shock. It is assumed that after Dr. ████’s tempering with SCP-XXXX A he got shocked. It was quite surprising as he was wearing a rubber suit and rubber gloves. Nobody knows for sure if he pressed the button or not. It is assumed not because he was wearing a blindfold while trying to study the SCP. -Dr. ██████
