Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 1x1x1m transparent cube. Contact is restricted to experimental purposes only. When contact is absolutely necessary, it is required to wear arm length gloves. These gloves must be one size larger than whatever is typically used for whoever is handling the object.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an amorphous entity. The exact physical nature of SCP-XXXX is difficult to describe, with reports not only conflicting on its shape, but referring to the organism as 'a colour that does not exist'. The only concrete statements to describe SCP-XXXX are that it does not take the shape of any conventional living creature, and that it has the apparent consistency of putty. It has been observed that SCP-XXXX generally has an approximate width of 20-30cm, approximate height of 20-25cm, and approximate thickness of 20-30cm. SCP-XXXX does not respond to any stimuli other than touch, and is immobile.

Upon physical contact with SCP-XXXX, the subject will experience extreme paresthesia that runs through the limb, section, or appendage of the body that made contact. The entity will proceed to steadily engulf the subject, its volume expanding to encompass whatever it has come into contact with. The subject will be completely conscious throughout the entire experience until SCP-XXXX's matter has made its way to the subject's head, at which point they will be rendered unresponsive. Refer to Log 3/1/2018

After completely surrounding and encasing the subject, SCP-XXXX will shift down to its normal size. The subject will have seemingly dissipated. It has been concluded from testing that the subject does not expire, and is transported to an unknown location.. As of now, there is no way to contact lost subjects or inhabitants native to the unknown area. Refer to Log 15/3/2018

Discovery: On December 5th, 2017, the Foundation received a report from the government of █████ ████, reporting that a man had trespassed upon [REDACTED], an ancient temple that had been sealed off for historical purposes. Subject had encountered the object, resulting in his disappearance. MTF Beta-7 was dispatched to [REDACTED], and retrieved the object with little difficulty.
It is currently unknown if [REDACTED] is SCP-XXXX's point of origin

Incident Report 12/1/2018

For the prior few months, Dr. L█████ had been the head researcher for experiments on SCP-XXXX. He proposed, on multiple occasions, that he should be allowed to enter SCP-XXXX and explore the destination he was transported to. These requests were made three separate times. The first was on 6/2/2018, the second was on 13/6/2018, and the final was 28/11/2018.

The senior researchers denied the propositions for all three instances under the grounds that Dr. L█████ was vital to several operations for The Foundation. On the third rejected request, it was decided to temporarily demote Dr. L█████ and have him psychologically examined to rule out active cognitohazards. 2/12/2018 was the scheduled date of Dr. L█████'s examination.

On 1/12/2018, at 12:00 AM he took and utilized Dr. Garnier's key-card in order to enter SCP-XXXX's chamber. Dr. L█████ managed to find and steal approximately ten thousand dollars worth of scientific equipment1. Dr. L█████ then proceeded to type and print out a cryptic letter, which he left on the ground just outside SCP-XXXX's container. A transcript of the letter is attached to this report.

The following document is considered sensitive information; therefore, anyone attempting to access the file must have a clearance level of 03 or higher.

After printing the note, Dr. L█████ turned the stolen camera on and proceeded to make contact with SCP-XXXX. Seven hours later, Dr. Garnier received an email from Dr. L█████ which contained several hours of visual, auditory, and textual reports. After this point, Dr. L█████ did not contact The Foundation, and was declared deceased in absentia ten days later.
The items received from Dr. L█████ were two hours of visual and auditory documentation and one page of textual documentation. The raw footage is restricted to administrative access; therefore, staff members of clearance level 03 or above are only allowed access to the transcript.
