Item#: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX resides in a 20x20km space located in ████████. This space should be visibly marked, preferably through the use of a 2m high barb wire topped steel fence. The fence should not reach more than 1m below the ground. No living creature is to be permitted within SCP-XXXXs 20x20km containment area, unless on the basis of testing. Any living creature within this zone is to be removed immediately. The perimeter should be patrolled at all times by two armed personnel. Located at the four corners of the containment area are watchtowers. Personnel are to be rotated every five hours. At the four corners of the containment zone are abandoned watch towers. Demolition orders of these towers are pending. SCP-XXXX has never been observed to remove itself from its 20x20km area. Any change in this behavior should be reported immediately. SCP-XXXX should be monitored at all times through the use of ground penetrating radar and seismic sensors. Testing of SCP-XXXX is ongoing.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an entity strongly resembling a steam locomotive from an indeterminate era. SCP-XXXX pulls three other entities resembling passenger cars that appear to be completely different from SCP-XXXX in make and year. The first two of the entities are intact. The third entity however has sustained severe damage to its rear and exterior. These entities are designated SCP-XXXX.A, SCP-XXXX.B and, SCP-XXXX.C. Descriptions can be found below (see Addendum-SCP-XXXX.I). The exterior of SCP-XXXX and its cars are a chrome black with a singular red line running down the center of each side. This paint job exists regardless of whether or not the car would bear it in reality. Though SCP-XXXX has the appearance of being made of steel its structural integrity far surpasses that of steel. In fact SCP-XXXX has no known limit at this time to how much force and trauma it can take before being damaged.

SCP-XXXX in its docile state is located underground in predetermined and well understood locations. Every hour SCP-XXXX will relocate itself to one of these predetermined locations. Any reports from seismic monitors should be disregarded during these events. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX propels itself forward as no means of doing so are observable. The network created by SCP-XXXX has been thoroughly mapped out. However it should still remain under constant monitoring through the use of ground penetrating radar. The network created by SCP-XXXX is a constant and has not ever been observably modified by SCP-XXXX under normal conditions. SCP-XXXX under normal circumstances is completely docile. However it will enter a hostile state if any organism digs more than 1.2m below the surface in its "active zone". SCP-XXXX will proceed to position itself under the area that is being dug and will fire upward at a max observed height of 24m. This event occurs 100% of the time and should always be taken into consideration during site maintenance and testing. Tests have been conducted to better understand these effects and the logs can be found below. (See Testing Logs XXXX/1, XXXX/2,)

SCP-XXXX has never been observed above ground. However, holes seemingly appear at random in SCP-XXXXs containment area. These holes only lead to 1-2m below ground level and measure at times, less than a meter in diameter. These holes serve an unknown purpose to SCP-XXXX, if they serve any purpose at all. The current leading theory is that insects may activate SCP-XXXX occasionally, leading to it partially breaching. However this is unconfirmed.

Addendum XXXX.I: Descriptions of SCP-XXXX.A.B.C

Item# Description
SCP-XXXX.A Standard metro passenger car with a maximum seating capacity of 28. Though observation is limited. The exterior is the expected chrome black however bears a single marking on the left side. It depicts what appears to be a Crotalus adamanteus wrapped around an object that resembles a poorly represented, or deformed human hand. Below this there is what seem to be literacy markings of an unknown language. This marking/logo does not match any known train line (or business) to date.
SCP-XXXX.B Passenger car of an unknown type however seemingly comes from the transcontinental era. Exterior that is nearly identical to SCP-XXXX.A. The only notable difference is the lack of the marking/logo on the left side.
SCP-XXXX.C Severely damaged passenger car. Half of the car missing. Black chrome paint nearly absent. The damaged end seems to have been separated forcefully from the rest of the car. The damaged end resembles the appearance of paper when torn.
