Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Euclid

Special containment procedures: personnel that are assigned to SCP-XXXX are to be updated on any reports of missing people last seen in an alleyway during night, If the alleyway confirms traces of candle wax, the said alleyway are to be quarantined immediately during daylight and the alleyway must be under surveillance at night, civilians near the area of the alleyway are to be relocated or dispatched to another location. Two (2) personnel are only allowed to survey the alleyway.
Personnel assigned for surveillance of the alleyway are required to be armed with one (1) lantern lamp equipped with a match box and one (1) wax candle.

Should SCP-XXXX appear in the alleyway, personnels are required to direct their lantern lamps at SCP-XXXX and are to back away slowly, once in safe distance of SCP-XXXX, personnel are to plant a candle and lighting it, placing it on the ground and evacuating the alleyway.

Description: SCP-XXXX are dark humanoid figures that commonly appear as shadows. Due to SCP-XXXX's appearing as a shadow, SCP-XXXX is able to change shape and size, sometimes appearing as an animal or a humanoid.

SCP-XXXX uses it's abilities to lure potential victims, commonly changing as a cat or dog followed by "whispers", after the potential victim has been lured into a poorly lit alleyway, SCP-XXXX will begin to change form of a humanoid figure, sometimes appearing as a man wearing top hat or a humanoid entity with jester clothing and begin encircling it's victim while producing black smoke followed by voices of an unknown language, after that, the victim and SCP-XXXX will begin to vanish once the black smoke has disappeared leaving only a small amount of candle wax on the ground where the victim was last standing on, It is unknown how the traces of candle wax appear, further analysis shows the candle wax is mix with a portion of the victim's blood.

SCP-XXXX has only been observed to appear at night near an alleyway. There seems to be no connections on the victims of SCP-XXXX, as SCP-XXXX randomly selects it's victims. SCP-XXXX will appear in various locations only requiring an alleyway. It is unknown whether or not this victims serves as sustenance for SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX will normally stay at the alleyway for a period of two (2) weeks after consuming a victim, it is hypothesize that SCP-XXXX does this to rest and will become aggressive once again when someone enters the alleyway at night.

SCP-XXXX has been observed to screech when noticing a lantern lamp (for more details please see addendum: XXXX-A-3). It has been hypothesize that SCP-XXXX is sensitive to fire and will attempt to retreat into a dark area of an alleyway. SCP-XXXX has also been observed freezing in position when faced with a lantern lamp, SCP-XXXX will also attempt to destroy or extinguish the light source. Other objects like flashlights or electric lamps seems to hold no effect on SCP-XXXX. Although the lantern lamp only serves to scare away SCP-XXXX, it does not cease it from continuing pursuit of it's victim/s.
A lit candle has been known to make SCP-XXXX vanish once the candle has been placed on the ground. unknown how or why this happens, a lit wax candle has been observed to make SCP-XXXX disappear instantly on any encounter and has been applied when surveying the area last spotted of SCP-XXXX, another option is running out of the alleyway although it is not advisable as SCP-XXXX is able to run (45mi/h) forty-five miles per hour.
