Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
[Paragraphs explaining the procedures]
Scp-XXXX is to be contained in a group with other similar items (5 to 10 recommended). Scp-XXXX requires positioning in a semi-public area, so that common public viewing occurs. Viewing of scp-XXXX should be fairly constant but in no way long enough for focused observation. Recommended placement could involve placement in conjunction with public transport, assuring that possible observation of scp-XXXX by the general public is no longer than 7-15 seconds. Cameras should monitor the objects surrounding the scp and the scp's frame for any discrepancies. If discrepancies are found, scp-XXXX should be immediately covered and replaced with a copy of Scp-XXXX-1, and Scp-XXXX should be relocated with a new group of accompanying objects to a new location. Relocation should be achieved as soon as possible to avoid Scp-XXXX effecting its surroundings.
Description:
[Paragraphs explaining the description]
Scp-XXXX has been described as a small framed piece of artwork. The artwork is no larger than 7 by 7 inches, encased within a simple frame. The colour of the frame can vary between silver, red and gold. In ideal conditions the colour of the frame should be describable as silver, with RGB vales between ██████ and ██████. The artist of scp-XXXX is unknown.
The artwork has a mundane appearance at first, but after observation for a significant period, an observer will find themselves more attracted to scp-XXXX. This behaviour is observed to be cyclical, and if a subject is allowed exposure to the artwork for a significant period of time, the subject will become absolutely focused on it, and show reduced signs of stimulation from any other source. The frame of the scp has been observed as transitioning to a gold hue once this phase for any observer has been reached. Eventually a subject will become essentially catatonic whilst not observing scp-XXXX, and potentially seize from super-excited brain activity if shown scp-XXXX, similar to behaviour observed with epilepsy.
scp-XXXX has also shown to have an effect on its surrounding area, specifically when scp-XXXX has not been observed. If the scp has not been observed for ██ minuets, then it will begin to effect surrounding areas. This effect begins as a de-saturation of colours, particularly the colours of surrounding artwork or importance. After continuous non-observation passing ███ minuets, the effects of scp-XXXX will extend to simplifying shapes and form to an observer. Once this amount of time has passed, the frame of the scp can be observed as a shade of red. Tests have revealed that the physical properties of objects surrounding scp-XXXX are not changed, instead the shape in which an observer interprets them becomes simplified, and in some cases directs the observer to the location of the scp.
