UNFINISHED
Item: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]
Description:
Physical description:An MP3 player with a black music note key chain
The screen is showing"Playing…" and then gibberish that doesn't seem to have any type of meaning
The player constantly plays a Melody from the song [EXTRACTED]-The song has since been completely purged from the radio and the world wide web. The melody cannot be stopped by clicking off the button and the MP3 player is seemingly indestructible to all resources the SCP Foundation contains.
Observations:
SCP XXXX-A: a person who has heard the [EXTRACTED] melody from the SCP-XXXX/MP3 player. The person will have a period of dormancy for 24-132 hours during which their behavior will not change.
On the end of the asymptomatic dormancy period, SCP XXXX-A will delete all of their music on all personal devices they own and try to do the same with anybody they know. Once SCP XXXX-A deletes all of their music, they will turn into SCP XXXX-B. SCP XXXX-A can also turn into SCP XXXX-B if they are unable to be in possession of their devices (refer to experiment 2a).
SCP XXXX-B: after the dormancy period of SCP XXXX-A is over, SCP XXXX-A will turn into SCP XXXX-B. SCP XXXX-B starts developing misophonia to any type of music. After 24 hours SCP XXXX-B will become sensitive to all kinds of sounds. When SCP XXXX-B is exposed to any type of music after this, they will become SCP XXXX-C. (SCP XXXX-B also has the ability to turn into XXXX-C without any stimuli, as shown in experiment 2b).
SCP XXXX-C1: happens within a week of exposure to SCP XXXX. SCP XXXX-C will lose both misophonia and sound sensitivity previously gained during the SCP A and B period. The person will continue back to their normal routine. However, after 48 hours since they lost all their symptoms, SCP XXXX-C will start humming the melody in their free time.
Whoever hears the melody from SCP XXXX-C will become SCP XXXX-A
The humming phase marks the begining of SCP XXXX-C2.
SCP XXXX-C2: the person will continue humming for 24 hours with no stop. At the 24 hour mark they will begin softly singing it. 12 hours after that SCP XXXX-C2 will begin loudly singing the melody. 24 hours after that phase they will start clapping the melody. 12 hours after that they will start pinching their skin to recreate the melody. In the next 6-8 hours SCP XXXX-C2 will start softly pinching themselves and cutting themselves with their nails in the rythm of the melody. This signafies the change into SCP XXXX-C3.
SCP XXXX-C3: SCP XXXX-C2 will begin inflicting self harm to themselves around 80 hours after the humming began. SCP XXXX-C3 will continue to amplify the amount of self harm it does 1 hour later. The final actions of SCP XXXX-C3's life are undisclosed due to the fact that the actions vary from subject to subject (as concluded in experiments A). Refer to the A branch of the experiments for more information.
Addendum: [Experiments A-C]
Experiment 1a: A class D personell was exposed to SCP XXXX and put into confinement. His vitals and behaviour were monitored during the experiment. The subject showed no changes physically or psychologically for 36 hours. At the 36:21 minute mark, the subject's heart beat quickened by 30 beats per second and the subject showed signs of nervousness. The subject began asking for his phone, saying he needed it urgently, which went against protocol for class D personnel. The subject became more unstable at the 37:11 minute mark, begining to cry on the floor. The subject continued to ask for his phone but was denied.
At the 38 hour mark, the subject stilled for a moment, motionless. The vitals were showing no sign of irregularity, so the experiment was not interrupted.
The subject remained in a still state for 10 minutes before resuming their normal routine.
At the 52 hour mark the subject became sensitive to the sound of the camera beeping, complaining it was too loud. No action was taken. The subject continued to complain before going into the before mentioned state for 10 minutes.
At the 52:10 hour mark the subject started humming. Due to the prior knowledge, the audio was distorted from this point and was only shown on a spectrogram.
At the 76 hour mark the spectrogram showed that the humming turned into singing, which was again amplified at 88 hours.
At the 96 hour mark the subject stopped singing and began using his nails to scratch himself. He then proceeded to gradually advance into cutting himself with his nails, continuing with stabbing his stomach with his hand. The subject seemed stunned when they were unable to fully puncture their skin, so they forcibly pulled out their tooth and began puncturing their arm. An observer noticed the puncturing was done in a rythm and, upon later inspection of the footage, so was the rest of his actions. At the 98 hour mark the subject died.
Cause of Death: Massive blood loss from self inflicted cuts on the left arm.
Experiment A2: experiment A1 was repeated, the second subject, also a class D personnel, showing the same actions as the first subject up until the SCP XXXX-C3 stage. During this stage, the subject smashed their arms against the floor instead of cutting themselves with their nails like the first subject, neither did they pull out their tooth. The subject began hitting their head against the floor an hour later until they died.
Cause of death:Self inflicted blunt force trauma.
Experiment A3: experiment A1 was repeated again with a third subject and, as with the second subject, showed no difference from the first subject until the SCP XXXX-C3 phase. The third subject showed different actions from the first two, though the subject showed a combination of the actions from the two subjects. Subject 3 started hitting their stomach with their arms as soon as they turned into SCP XXXX-C3. The action was amplified 1 hour later when they started smashing their ribs with their arms and legs. The action resulted a broken rib, as shown on the vitals, however, due to the fact that SCP XXXX-C3 didn't stop, the broken rib eventually punctured their lungs. The subject died quickly after.
Cause of death: Cerebral anoxia due to the excessive amount of blood in and irreversible damage to the lungs.
Experiment branch A conclusion: SCP XXXX-A's trough SCP XXXX-C2's actions are identical on all subjects tested. SCP XXXX-C3 inflicts self harm, however, the specific actions of SCP XXXX-C3 and the cause of death vary from subject to subject, but the cause of death is always because of self harm.

Experiment branch 2 will consist of the confinement of SCP XXXX-A trough C
Basically, strap them to a chair and see if they'll end up changing
Experiment branch 1 will determine the time frame of the advancements
Experiment branch 3 will test out cures
