Special Containment Procedures: Procedures include a 36”x18”x16” M reptile enclosure fitted with one-way seeing tinted glass observation windows in response to its anomalous abilities. Accommodations include a Heat lamp, basking rocks and other climbing material, and an aquatic pool outfitted with plants and animals native to mangroves of Southeast Asia creating a comfortable habitat reminiscent of SCP-5595's original home pre containment. SCP-5595 is fed during times when it is asleep 2-4 times a week eating a healthy diet of rodents, fish, and poultry.

Description: SCP-5595 is a 2.1 m in length reality-bender in the form of an Asian Water Monitor Lizard. SCP-5595's abilities include distorting the perspective of an individual to the reality most desired to preserve while being looked at by the lizard using some form of interspecies mind reading.

It changes the reality in a small area around the individual based on the place or situation the person wants to be to a varying degree. This distortion of the reality of the subject is shattered when the lizard stops looking at the subject (Majority of lizards can't blink and instead have a clear membrane that cleans the eye).

Addendum: SCP-5595 was first discovered when local Mekong fishermen in Southeast Asia had reports of the amount of fish they thought they had did not add up, recalling they had the ideal amount of fish. Showing signs of distress and uncontent after escaping the effects of SCP-5595. When the foundations arrived amnestics were distributed and after an investigation was launched it was narrowed down to SCP-5595 after it was found to have unusually high hume levels.

Abilities In Detail

• Although SCP-5595 possesses reality-bending capabilities it seems that it is unaware of its reality-bending effects and has no unusual amounts of intelligence above the average reptile.

• It continues to not be hostile and takes a likeness to foundation staff when handled and tested, usually preferring the staff who feed it.

• Tests conducted on the entity revealed when multiple people with different realities in mind are gazed upon by SCP-5595 their different realities merge and distort each other causing an unstable area of reality. Due to that only staff who are trained to think of similar realities are allowed to work with the entity and discussing and having a situation in mind is greatly encouraged to guarantee no complications.

• If someone is being watched by SCP-5595 and is content with the reality and situation it is in no anomalous effects will take place.

Beneficial Aspects

SCP-5595 gained new interest by the foundation as it could be used as a safer substitute to unreliable reality anchors. SCP-5595 can be controlled by trained staff to counter other reality-bending anomalies by making their favored reality normal. Drawbacks include 5595 being a living organism who requiring food and other such accommodations as the entity is as mortal as a regular monitor lizard. Currently, SCP-5595 is being used as a substitute reality-anchors for special reality-bending situations using trained staff who have trained their conscious to be in-sink to SCP-5595 harnessing its abilities to become temporary reality benders with another trained staff member handling it making sure that it can view the other staff member to create a stable reality. This is usually done using MTF's as for security purposes but in the case of abuse of the entity it is promptly blindfolded stopping any threats and instability relating to SCP-5595.
