Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX consists of 2 distinct parts: SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B(Y)

SCP-XXXX-A has not been contained. Attempts at containment have been unsuccessful as SCP-XXXX-A is able to die at will and will reappear in an unknown location. Should SCP-XXXX-A be encountered, lethal force is advised, although there have been no reported cases of SCP-XXXX-A killing or seriously injuring any person. Conventional means of execution are effective on SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A is considered to be intelligent and has been reported to mimic sounds and voices, along with picking locks and breaking windows.

The corpse of SCP-XXXX-A is not anomalous and can be discarded by any conventional means.

Any person in the region of ███████ ████████ who has been the victim of an accident or attack involving serious bodily harm, such as disfigurement or amputation is to be immediately reported to the foundation and must be guarded by no less than 4 armed Foundation personnel as they will become a target of SCP-XXXX-A. The subject will remain guarded for a minimum of 2 weeks, or until SCP-XXXX does not attempt to seize the subject for 4 days. Multiple killings have proven to be a deterrent, and SCP-XXXX-A will often give up after dying 7-8 times. After this, the subject will remain under surveillance until they complete recovery.

Any subject successfully abducted are categorized as SCP-XXXX-B(Y). Y being their identification number. They are docile, and will not act violently to people even if provoked.

All SCP-XXXX-B(Y) and SCP-XXXX-A live in an isolated society in ████ National Park. Although the community is not a threat to the outside world, Foundation agents disguised as Park Rangers are to not let anybody within 10 km of the community.

Description: SCP-XXXX-A is a humanoid figure approximately 7 feet (2.1m) in height. It is covered completely in fabric which makes up a tight layer of “skin” that changes with every instance of SCP-XXXX-A. The fabric is patchwork and often frayed and dirty. The only features consistent with every instance of SCP-XXXX-A is the two large buttons and stitched smile that make up its face.
It is unknown what is beneath the fabric, since when an instance of SCP-XXXX-A is killed, it collapses leaving only the empty costume behind.

All SCP-XXXX-B(Y) are humans covered head to toe in cloth, in a similar fashion to SCP-XXXX-A. Reintroduction of SCP-XXXX-B(Y) to society has proven to be impossible, with them becoming agitated and depressed, stating that they wish to go back. Eventually they will begin to sob uncontrollably, so much so that communication is impossible. SCP-XXXX-B(Y) will starve itself to death unless brought back to it's community.

Within the isolated society, SCP-XXXX-B(Y) preform jobs in the community and interact with each other, essentially identical to a conventional society.

Notable characteristics of SCP-XXXX society:

  • The language that SCP-XXXX-B(Y) communicate with is very simple with only one word spoken at a time1
  • Buttons are used as currency.
  • A town celebration is held for every newcomer, with the entire community gathering and welcoming them
  • SCP-XXXX-A is able to move the entire village seemingly instantaneously at will. This is triggered by either an outsider discovering the village, or SCP-XXXX-A discovering a Foundation spy disguised as SCP-XXXX-B(Y) (See addendum 1).
  • Within the community, SCP-XXXX-A seems to be the leader, although does not do much to contribute. It wanders around the village often stopping to stare at innocuous objects and occasionally nods or makes a grunt of approval. Very rarely it will communicate to SCP-XXXX-B(Y), but these conversations are limited to two words at a maximum2 .
  • As of ████/██/██ there are 37 members of the community.

Addendum 1: As of ████/██/██, there are █ Foundation agents acting as spies in the community. They are disguised as members of the community with cloth costumes. It is not a threat to their lives if they are discovered, but if SCP-XXXX-A will erase their memories of the community and move it to another random location in the forest. While this is not a threat to the general public or Foundation agents, it creates a large setback in research as the community has to be located and quarantine measures set up again at the new location.
