Item #: SCP-XXXX

Class: Euclid Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard cell. SCP-XXXX is cooperative with testing and incarceration and as such any requests from SCP-XXXX are to be given to Lead Researcher for approval.

████/██/██: SCP-XXXX's host has died of asphyxiation. No changes to SCP-XXXX's class. Cell has been stripped of the host's comforts and is now bare.

████/██/██: SCP-XXXX has been declared neutralized. The remains were moved to [Location] and no reports of related anomalies have been discovered. Research into SCP-XXXX has been ceased, crew have been re-stationed, and all data was moved to a storage locker.

Description: SCP-XXXX is colony of parasitic coral that has only infected a single individual, [Name Redacted]. SCP-XXXX is not contagious. The colony has a base layer that is rooted in the skin of the host, with multiple types of hard and soft corals growing off it. Small animals such as shrimps, anemones, small fish are also present, behaving as though they are in water, despite the lack of it. Animals created by SCP-XXXX begin to asphyxiate when taken more than approximately 20 cm away from SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX was discovered when tourist [Name Redacted] was admitted to Victoria Hospital, AU, with coralian growth covering his hand. [Name Redacted] states this began after snorkeling, where he presumably touched the host object. The growth started on the hand and has been slowly growing larger and covering more of the host's skin

See experiment 1 for the outcome of removing the growth

Test A - date

Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: Amputation of affected area. Limb will be severed midway up the forearm in an attempt to rid the host of SCP-XXXX.
Results: Amputation was successful. However the operation revealed an intricate series of roots, presumed to be SCP-XXXX, growing up the inside of the hosts arm. Wound was closed and host is in a stable condition.
Analysis: An MRI revealed that the roots are present throughout the host's body. Surgical removal is deemed impossible. Update: SCP-XXXX has began to grow on the area that was operated, further amputations are not permitted.

Host Health report - [Date]

Practitioner: Dr Blalala
Foreword: This is the first health report on the host of SCP-XXXX.
State of SCP-XXXX: Covering the hosts hand up to the wrist. Hand is immobile. Numerous polyps are growing along with sponges and shrimps, see [Report] for full list of creatures alive on host
Health of host: Numbness of affected hand, stiffness of entire body.
Closing Statement: Due to the docile nature of SCP-XXXX, further reports will be conducted when Senior Researcher deems it necessary.

Health of host: Host is stable, continued stiffness of the entire body.
Closing Statement: Stiffness of the hosts body is assumed to be caused by the presence of SCP-XXXX's roots.
