Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is currently being kept in the derivate Site-19-D specifically designed and created for its containment in the Orange Walk District, in Belize.
The mouth of the cave SCP-XXXX is contained in has been sealed off with concrete, blocking off the main entrance in order to prevent tourists and civilians from entering. A shaft has been installed for foundation access.
Every 3 months, SCP-XXXX is to be drained via liquid pump into a jar, which is stored inside a freezer chamber. This liquid is to be used on a mass population if a "Broken Masquerade" event for an anomaly has an unanticipated outcome, and if the project is already launched to the public.
All civilians affected by this anomaly are to be taken to a foundation bunker to be informed about events currently taking place and to read, and watch un-bias news reports. Those affected by SCP-XXXX, unfortunately, cannot be given amnestic after their occurrence with the foundation as it would lead to the re-education becoming obsolete.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a stone basin measuring 6 meters in diameter that is below a leak in the cave wall. This basin has many small hieroglyph inscriptions carved into it, of the ancient Mayan variant.
SCP-XXXX-1, the liquid that comes from the leak usually takes about 3 months to fill the basin below it and takes an exceptionally slow pace to fill. It has a blue, luminescent coloring. When It has been consumed by a human, it has the property of pin-pointing current and relevant events, usually resulting in catastrophic outcomes.
Discovery:
SCP-XXXX was discovered in late February of 2020. It was the main exhibit of a caves tour, nearby the ancient Mayan city Lamanai. It was being put on display as the "liquid light". Tourists were prohibited to drink any of the water that came from the cave itself, as it might contain harmful bacteria. 3 tourists had drunken SCP-XXXX-1, disobeying the tour rules. The coronavirus pandemic had just begun, and due to SCP-XXXX-1's anomalous properties, the tourists had come out of the tour, disoriented. They had also been ignoring the CDC's health guidelines.
History:
Due to the inscriptions on the side of SCP-XXXX, the foundation now knows about its upbringing.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in 700 B.C. by citizens of the city of Lamanai during an exploration of an unknown purpose. The Current king of Lamanai then was brought in, and they decided to build a basin underneath where the leak was. Eventually, "tests" were carried out so that they themselves could learn about the capabilities of SCP-XXXX-1. It was not used, only hidden in the cave.
During the Last-king of Lamanai's reign, there was a population density issue and the city's materials were being spread thin. The king then became corrupt, thinking that the ever-growing population would make them powerful. He proceeded to pour SCP-XXXX-1 within the city's water supply. As a result of that action, the population grew, but they soon were depleted of materials. Thus, the downfall of the city of Lamanai.
