Item #: SCP-xxxx

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX can be safely stored in standard containment units.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a white square of fabric, measuring 30.5cm by 30.5cm. The fabric itself seems to be normal cotton, displaying no visible anomalous features. In the bottom left corner is the embroidered pair of initials "J.L." They appear to be hand sewn.

Anomalous features are only apparent upon hands on inspection, conducted in a room 15m by 25m, with various obstructions placed throughout the chamber. Anomalous properties are seemingly only apparent under observation of SCP-XXXX by an outside party, be it another subject in direct eye contact, or through cameras streaming live to an audience. For unknown reasons, cameras that are recording without an audience do not provoke the expected anomalous results.

SCP-XXXX has shown two prominent anomalous features under in lab testing, however a third property is known to exist. All promptings to force SCP-XXXX to exhibit said property have been without success.

To access the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX one must first be "bonded" to the object. The "bonding" procedure requires SCP-XXXX to be used in much the same way as a regular handkerchief, and must be in the pocket of the subject for at least 36 hours for the link to hold. This process connects both SCP-XXXX, and the subject testing it, in a mental link which allows for the use of the handkerchief and its properties.

The first known feature of SCP-XXXX is the increase, and reduction, of it's own size. The determined smallest size of the fabric is 16mm, while the largest size is approximately 150m. It is theorized it could be pushed much larger, but we refrained from testing this theory due to the second anomalous feature.
