Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept behind a large, facility sized reinforced glass wall. This wall is to be covered with natural materials on a bi-weekly basis. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, normal security guards are not capable of securing SCP-XXXX, or SCP-XXXX-1 instances. Instead, MTF Squad Alpha-5 (Samuriessa), which consists of 452 specially trained fighters are in charge of SCP-XXXX and its related instances. Under no circumstances are any organisms allowed to enter the vicinity of SCP-XXXX with the exception of those in MTF Squad Alpha-5. All non-MTF-Alpha-5 members in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX are considered expendable and are to be engaged.
Description: SCP-XXXX is spread over an area of land in ██████████, ████, USA. Reports of SCP-XXXX originated through civilian and local government channels. Although precise determination of origin is unlikely. Most early reports of SCP-XXXX consist of missing persons reports and odd clouds in the sky. These reports were not discovered until the local police and a squad of nearby active servicemen for the government failed to be contacted within a 24 hour period. Another military contingent was dispatched to the area and quickly withdrew, contacting the foundation immediately afterwards.
SCP-XXXX is viral contagious disease spread through air and physical contact. Early signs of infection consist of darkening of skin pigment, metal taste in mouth, and rash or pain around nail and tooth areas. Around an hour after infection, eyes of an infected individual will begin leaking a black liquid. Finger nails will have turned into short claws, and the facial features of the infected into a more canine like appearance. [infected are to be referred to as an SCP-XXXX-1 after this point of infection]
Within an additional hour, facial features will no longer resemble a human. Rather, taking the shape of a cryptid figure. Mental stability seems to flatline almost instantly after this time period. Unintelligible mumblings of purple stones are common and it is not unusual for infected to become completely feral. After another, final, hour of infection, All hair of SCP-XXXX will have fallen off. Sexual organs, eyes, eyelids, and ears will no longer be prominent on an infected.
After completion of the infection occurs, the SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to use echolocation with other SCP-XXXX-1 instances to create a group of SCP-XXXX-1. Observation of life infected by SCP-XXXX is considered impossible outside of MTF reports. But, multiple explorations of SCP-XXXX were conducted by MTF Alfa-5.
The only known way of killing an SCP-XXXX-1 permanently is through ritualistic means. A picture book written in an unknown dialect was found in SCP-XXXX. The book seems to be covering various concepts, such as how to summon demons, control minds, and lycanthrope. After discovery of the book, these outfits were quickly supplied to reinforcing Alpha-5 units. Following this, cases of infection dropped significantly. It was also found that traditional samurai weapons were much more effective than modern weapons against SCP-XXXX-1. Resulting in all modern weapons previously used to destroy SCP-XXXX-1 being swapped out for weapons such as katanas, Nodatchi’s and Ubidatchi’s.
