Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in the center of a 5 m x 5 m x 3 m
(length x width x height) container at all times. SCP-XXXX is to be secured to the floor using steel bolts, to allow no movement. These bolts are to be replaced on sign of wear under supervision of Dr. ███. Direct contact with SCP-XXXX is not advised, and should be kept to a minimum. No personnel is allowed entrance to SCP-XXXX's containment chamber without approval from Dr. ███. Security personnel is instructed to avoid staying close to the containment chamber for extensive periods of time.

Transportation of SCP-XXXX is forbidden without written approval from and in the presence of Dr. ███.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a rusted steel double bed frame complete with a mattress, blanket and pillows, measuring 2.0 meters in length, 1.4 meters in width and 0.5 meters in height. Extensive testing shows that its steel frame consists of 237% more manganese than usually found in other steel constructs. It is unknown whether this increased concentration has any influence on the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX.
Subjects lying down on SCP-XXXX will get a feeling of fatigue. When subject does not stand up from SCP-XXXX, subject will gradually lose consciousness for approximately thirty (30) seconds before falling asleep. Subjects immediately enter a REM state, lasting the duration of subjects unconsciousness. All attempts to wake the subject after having fallen asleep proved unsuccessful. However, removing the subject from SCP-XXXX causes the subject to become conscious. The time spent in SCP-XXXX-1 is roughly correlated to the time the subject has been awake.

Due to the nature of the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX, concrete documentation of exploration is impossible to obtain. All following documentation of SCP-XXXX is composed of overlapping descriptions between subjects experiences while under the influence of SCP-XXXX. Detailed descriptions are accessible in interview logs.

Subjects report waking up in a slightly decayed modern urban settlement, hereafter referenced as SCP-XXXX-1. Descriptions of the surroundings have been able to help identify the location as a portion of ██████████, ███████████. It is suggested that SCP-XXXX-1 runs parallel to our dimension, as small changes made to SCP-XXXX, such as moving an item or leaving a memorendum, can be confirmed by subjects entering SCP-XXXX-1 at a later time. When multiple subjects enter SCP-XXXX-1 simultaneously, all subjects enter the same SCP-XXXX-1 and are able to interact with each other. This indicates that SCP-XXXX-1 is not bound to a single subject, but to SCP-XXXX itself. Any items held by a subject about to enter unconsciousness are not transferred to SCP-XXXX-1, as well as any items held by subject while in SCP-XXXX-1 are not transferred back to our dimension.
