Hello everyone and shut up. If you’re here for a review on a certain anomaly or protocol then you’re mistaken. Now since that’s all cleared up let’s begin.
In today’s class I will not be talking about persons of any SCP facilities, branches, sites or other but instead this is about the foundation as a whole. I’ll be speaking about what they do, their ethics, and if what they’re doing is justified by any means.
So to start, what is the SCP Foundation? Well for start, the SCP foundation is an organization founded for the soul purpose of finding and containing anomalies. If that wasn’t obvious from their motto, Secure, Contain, Protect, Then it should be now. The whole point of the foundation is to contain and study anomalies so we can figure out how to be rid of them or use them for our own gain. This brings me to my next point.
The foundation is known to experiment on anomalies using humans as test subjects. These people are referred to as D-class. Usually D-class are former convicts, rapist, mass murderers and others who fit that category. However the foundation has a little something called Protocol 12 which allows the foundation to gain D-class from sources such as political prisoners, refugee populations, and other civilian sources. Even children although rarely because even the scientist have a bit of humanity left. Well most of them anyway.
And here is a dastardly example of the things D-class have to go through. One mechanism used to contain a certain anomaly is known as the femur breaker which requires a D-class to be tied down to a table and their femur broken before their screams of pain are broadcasted throughout the site.
What’s worse, at the end of each month they terminate the D-class instead of wiping their minds, which I inform you they are fully capable of doing.
Now let’s talk about the ethical side of the foundation. Contrary to popular belief the foundation does have an ethics committee. And it shouldn’t surprise you to know that their job involves a lot of paper work, mostly due to some known personnel. Anyway they are the ones who make all the big choices around here, yes there’s the O5 council who orchestrate everything but the ethics committee help them decide on what is and is not acceptable.
They’re basically needed to keep the foundation going. Fucking bureaucrats.
So this brings me to my last point. Is the foundation justified by any means? Well let’s look at the facts. The foundation captures and contains these anomalies to protect the human race. They also study them to ascertain if these anomalies can be used in some way as to serve mankind and to devise better methods of containment. But on the other hand, in order to experiment, talk to and in some cases contain these anomalies they require the use of D-class personal which as I stated beforehand are basically human Guinn pigs or better still sacrificial pigs. Then there’s the anomalies that there keeping instead of destroying, I do agree that the advancement of science is a priority but what is the use of science if you can’t control it? And let’s not mention certain scientists that shall remain nameless who behave in such an unprofessional matter it’s worrying that they were hired.
Because of this I have concluded that the foundation can’t be justified for its actions by any means I can think of. Meaning if the foundation were to come under fire from any government they would surely face severe consequences for their actions.
You may have picked up that I said “if” the foundation came under fire. This is because the foundation dose not operate under government jurisdiction of any kind. Because of this the foundation can do whatever they want without the fear of consequences and can continue to work without any government interference.
I hope you all learned something today.
