Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a locker constructed of aluminium and lined with silicone rubber. This locker should have no less than 6.35 cm thick aluminium plating on all six sides. The jar is to have weekly checks to assure it has not undergone any changes. The jar must also undergo monthly usage and measuring, to detect any shortage or growth in its abilities.

This usage will be as follows: 1.) SCP-XXXX is to be placed in the center of an exterior testing field with no less than 110 m² of operating space. 2.) 4 electrical nodes of varying currents and distances are to be set around the testing area. 3.) The jars lid is to be removed by a C-Class personnel. The jars lid is to be replaced at its peak voltage, at which point the electromagnetic field around the jar should be measured with an EMF meter no less than three times every 5 minutes. All personnel involved in the test are to move behind a viewing glass panel made of 20 mm thick tinted glass, to ensure there are no injuries to foundation staff. 4.) The lid is to be removed by the C-Class personnel equipped with blackout goggles, releasing the contained energy and disabling the nodes. The subsequent flash from SCP-XXXX should be measured via a light meter. 5.) As testing concludes, SCP-XXXX is to have its lid replaced and is to be returned to its containment locker.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a glass jar with a 60 mm diameter opening and a height of 96.52 mm, sealed with a weathered aluminium lid. There are no markings on the jars surface that would indicate a manufacturer or place of origin. Inspections on the item suggest that SCP-XXXX may have been handmade. When SCP-XXXX’s lid is removed, the object will begin to absorb surrounding electricity from any electrical device within a 105 m² radius for approximately 10 seconds. The jar can only withhold approximately 2.7 amps of electricity, absorbing the energy at the pace of a device with 144 ohms. As this occurs, the inside of the jar will begin to fill with a bright yellow light, capable of reaching a maximum of 745 lumens. The jars absorption is impossible through materials incapable of conducting electricity.

If the lid is not replaced at the moment the jar reaches its peak capacity, it will release the electricity and restore the devices it had affected. If the lid is replaced onto the jar before this point, the light will be contained and sustained for a period of time, spanning from 10 minutes to an hour. If the lid is removed while the jar still holds light (electricity), SCP-XXXX will emit an electromagnetic pulse at the exact same radius as its absorption radius of 105 m². The outgoing burst is released as a bright yellow light, capable of reaching up to 100,000 lumens. This pulse has the potential to disrupt surrounding electronics, as well as stun or disorient onlookers of the event.
