Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX requires weekly attention from a reconnaissance team utilizing a hybrid unmanned autonomous underwater vehicle (HROV) modeled after the Nereus. The reconnaissance team is to be stationed on a nearby site resembling in all aspects an oil drilling rig, and to be resupplied monthly by a cargo freighter to simulate inconspicuous operations. After the events that occurred on the day of "Interview with the director, day #7", the reconnaissance team is not to make contact with any further instances of SCP-XXXX-B under any circumstances.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous Foundation site (identified as Site-445) located at 18° 21' 10" N (18.33°) 143° 0' 0" E (141°) in Mariana Trench at -10940.8 m elevation and its only object within containment, designated as SCP-XXXX-B and SCP-XXXX-A respectively, the former henceforth referred to as "Site-445".

On Saturday, 12 October, 2019, marine biologists discovered and photographed Site-445 while operating an unmanned craft to collect sedimentary samples from within Mariana Trench. These photographs found themselves in the hands of an international summit on marine biological conservation on Monday, 4 November, where the Foundation was alerted to their existence. After securing the photographs and applying class C amnestics to those required, a team of researchers was formed to investigate the anomaly immediately. This team, led by Dr. Howells, successfully established a launching platform to investigate Site-445 on Thursday, 28 November.

Using an unmanned craft, Dr. Howells made first contact with Site-445 and its personnel on Friday, 29 November at 19:18. The craft was confronted in open water by Site-445 security and shot until rendered inoperable. At 23:07, a crate affixed to a flotation device emerged from the water and was seized by Dr. Howells' team, inside of which was a new unmanned craft of unknown model. At 09:15 on Saturday, 30 November, it was deemed by Dr. Howells that the new unmanned craft would be utilized by the team to continue its investigation in lieu of awaiting a replacement.

The following seven days of investigation provided a concurrent correspondence between Dr. Howells and dir. C████ of Site-445, which was recorded via two-way video call on the unmanned craft. The transcript of their video calls is recorded under the "Site-445" tab. Due to the unique nature of the containment breach in Site-445, certain details of their discussions have been redacted¹. As per Dr. Howells' request, he has been administered class C amnestics to avoid further emotional incident concerning SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-A

SCP-XXXX-A is an opening in the sea floor exactly 23 m in diameter, appearing to be smooth sedimentary rock on all sides of its interior with no discernible signs of intelligent creation or alteration aside from the construction of Site-445.

Within the immediate vicinity of SCP-XXXX-A (out to 36.5 m from the circumference), Foundation personnel have reported that extended exposure to SCP-XXXX-A creates parapsychological phenomenon including a distorted perception of time², general forgetfulness, occasional distortion of balance and acceleration³, and a dramatic slowing of cell decay and division⁴. Also well recorded is the preservation of consciousness and identity beyond what would normally result in death, the source of which is unknown.

The symptoms exhibited in Site-445 staff that can be clearly traced to SCP-XXXX-A itself are generated by the seeming dimensional-distortion emanating from within SCP-XXXX-A, and the physicists in Site-445 have described its effects as those similar to a black hole, albeit with inscrutable differences still being researched⁵.

Site-445 has provided documents detailing investigation of SCP-XXXX-A using various measures to determine its depths, all of which have been inconclusive. Further investigation is unlikely to be recorded due to the time distortion phenomenon detailed under the "Site-445" tab.

//The following document was provided by dir. C████ detailing the events of the Foundation's initial discovery of SCP-XXXX-A, leading to the construction of Site-445, and an addendum added by dr. C████.

Special Containment Procedures: Given SCP-████'s potent manipulation of relative perception of spacial dimensions, it is of utmost importance that all staff assigned to Site-445 maintain regular contact with a non-temporal object. This is so each staff member can regulate their morphisms relative to this universe's brane, which prevents gravitons from introducing variables to their functional existence in this universe. By performing this process, Site-445 personnel effectively reduce the chances of being attracted to SCP-████'s interdimensional pull. Similarly, the non-temporal object is to be affixed to an automated motion device and moved throughout Site-445 to extend this benefit to the structure itself. To this end, Site-445 has been supplied with a non-temporal object in the form of a glass cube approximately 2 cm on a single face, inside of which can be viewed a 3-dimensional subset of a Calabi-Yau manifold. In the event of a containment breach, the glass box is to be destroyed, thus releasing the non-temporal object, which is to be permitted to enter the dimensional pull of SCP-████, thereby causing a normalization event and terminating SCP-████.

Description: SCP-████ is an unstable morphism through which an open string is connected to our observable D-brane and a near-identical D-brane, creating a visual psychosensory anomaly that can only be perceived as a large hole in the ocean floor. SCP-████ exists at 18° 21' 10" N (18.33°) 143° 0' 0" E (141°) in Mariana Trench at -10940.8 m, and it measures 23 m in diameter. The interior walls of SCP-████ are identical in composition to sedimentary rock. The hole created by SCP-████'s dimensional unraveling has no discernible bottom, and it is currently unclear whether the superstring connected to the unobservable D-brane is wholly contained within Site-445.

Due to the particularly hazardous nature of SCP-████ and its location, it is inadvisable to introduce other items within containment that have known dimensional warping effects, such as SCP-████ or SCP-████. As such, Site-445 has been constructed without the capability to contain any items aside from SCP-████ itself.

Addendum: On the 10th of August, 28██, during routine dark-matter observation tests to measure the dimensional instability of SCP-████, a spike in the gravitons emanating from the morphism shortly preceded a containment breach in which the open string between the connected D-branes threatened collapse. During this dimensional phenomena (and possibly the cause of such), an entity emerged from SCP-████. This entity, henceforth referred to as SCP-████-2, was not visible by Site-445 personnel; however, its presence was recorded by the dark-matter observation devices as an acutely massive dark-matter object which produced errors in the observation devices that infer SCP-████-2 contained equivalent mass of a primordial black hole.

The presence of SCP-████-2 was not solely recorded by the dark-matter observation devices, and was briefly perceivable by Site-445 staff when it interacted with the glass dome over-top of SCP-████, thus creating a termination event that resulted in the dome's erasure from space-time. Site-445, using the Calabi-Yau manifold subset, prevented SCP-████-2 further entrance into the known dimension. Following the departure of SCP-████-2, recorded only in the integer overflow of the dark-matter observation devices that bricked all active units, the water from inside the dome evacuated into Site-445 with improbable force and volume, leading dir. C████ to conclude the water was being transported through the morphism and into the observable dimension, thus confirming the existence of the attached non-observable D-brane inexhaustibly.

The water that emerged from SCP-████ was unable to be drained from the site before all its personnel drowned. It is unknown at what point the anomalous properties of SCP-████ began effecting Site-445 and its personnel, but when site personnel regained conciousness, containment procedures were re-engaged and have been closely monitored by dir. C████, and at the time of filing this addendum, the complete containment procedure for SCP-████ has been declared too dangerous to Site-445 staff to complete. Re-assessment of SCP-████'s containment procedures is ongoing.

Another minute passes, and Dr. S██████ becomes visibly frustrated.

Dr. F████: Sorry, I'm just going through some settings. I don't think is going to work.
Dr. S██████: Say something sooner next time. I don't want to spend all day up here.

Dr. S██████ powers down the laser measure, making Dr. F████ sigh.

The two doctors can be heard laughing a moment, followed briefly by indiscernible banter, before falling silent for three minutes, interrupted intermittently by the clicking of a mechanical keyboard.

Dr. L█████: Are they… All offline?
Dr. M█████: All of them, yeah. What the hell?
Dr. L█████: I'll inform C████, see if we can authorize a diver.
Dr. M█████: Alright. I'll keep trying here.

Dr. L█████ is heard walking away, accompanied by the sounds of the keyboard, before Dr. M█████ swears quietly and handles the audio recorder after six minutes of silence.

Dr. M█████: This is going nowhere, so I'll cease the test until further notice.

Audio stops. Let the record show that a diver was authorized, who reported that none of the 75 seismographs could be located.

Site-445

Site-445 is a single-story circular building constructed of M70 grade concrete with support trusses and rebar forged of a titanium carbide alloy totaling 12.2 m in height and 61 m in diameter. Its walls are 1.5 m in width, and it possesses a single hatch constructed of two sheets of 22 cm tempered glass, laminated together, on the southern-most exterior wall. The interior of the site consists of a sealed glass dome 36.5 m in diameter and 2.5 m in height surrounding the hole, which is completely encircled by an observation deck within the miscellaneous rooms and laboratories required for on-site living. To that end, the staff of Site-445 is managed by site director C████ and a staff of 2 each of ecologists, geologists, and physicists; 2 each of electrical, civil, and mechanical engineers; 10 security personnel; and 4 D-Class personnel designated to custodial duties.

As it was recorded in the addendum of the attached document "Foundation Documentation of SCP-XXXX-A, circa 28██', the personnel of Site-445 have undergone a process identical to death and revivification. All site personnel have experienced advanced cell decay, forcing them to use diving suits to maintain a humanoid bodily structure, as described by dir. C████ in "Interview with the director, day #3". This advanced cell decay ceased once all soft-tissue on site personnel's bodies had separated from the skeletal structure. Despite the complete and total lost of soft-tissue on all of site personnel's bodies, dir. C████ notes in "Interview with the director, day #3" that this has not impeded any of the staff's ability to communicate in traditional fashion while inside diving suits. Dir. C████ informed Dr. Howells during the aforementioned interview that her team was studying the connection between their prolonged lives and the effects their "spiritual energy" had on the electronics of the suit, implying that it was due to the built-in communication system that site personnel were able to speak, but was ill equipped to do so. After Dr. Howells' initial report, independent Foundation research began on this phenomena properly, which is currently ongoing.

Addendum: It is important to note the addendum from "Foundation Documentation of SCP-XXXX-A, circa 28██" and its recorded entity, listed as SCP-████-2. This entity has not been documented by the Foundation at this time, but its existence has been reported to higher personnel as deemed necessary. At the request of the 05 Council, this entity has been deemed a priority target for search-and-seizure mobile task forces, and this report has been used to help identify anomalous phenomena regarding the inter-dimensional qualities of SCP-XXXX and any potential entities related to it. Therefore, this report has been declassified as much as the 05 Council deemed necessary to aid mobile task forces in the acquisition of this anomalous target. As of this report's creation, the entity remains elusive.

This is to prevent the possibility of self-fulfilling paradoxes caused by recreating events that happen in the future, such as verbally or electronically retelling occurrences of space-time anomalies.
