SCP-XXXX-1 during experimentation.

Special Containment Procedures: All objects contaminated with SCP-XXXX-1 are to have all SCP-XXXX residue removed from them, and subsequently incinerated in incinerator I-BC-2. Unopened instances of SCP-XXXX are not to be activated and used unless a BC-XXXX-2 experimentation authorization is received from Dr. Monica Beyer and Dr. Cameron Thompson. Using an instance of SCP-XXXX with failure to acquire authorization will result in detainment and suspension.

Instances of SCP-XXXX are to be kept in a well-ventilated room in Wing E-493-D in the storage chamber labeled XXXX-SC-1. Water, or any products containing large quantities of moisture are not to be brought in to the storage room. The introduction of moisture into the storage room of SCP-XXXX will result in detainment and monetary fines.

Description: As of now, there are 652 canned instances of SCP-XXXX in containment. Instances of SCP-XXXX are all contained within aluminum cans with a label printed on the bottom. The label claims that the object is "Dr. Wondertainment's® MagiChem DoubleDouble!". Canned instances of SCP-XXXX can be easily opened with a regular can opener. The cans are non-anomalous.

When SCP-XXXX has been removed from its can, it resembles a glossy, black sphere. In this state, SCP-XXXX has a Mohs hardness of 7.6. Chemical analysis of the liquid that SCP-XXXX is stored in as well as SCP-XXXX itself reveal that it is of a completely unknown and undocumented chemical composition. SCP-XXXX will not respond to any non-water liquids, such as glycerin, pure isopropyl alcohol, and ethylene glycol. SCP-XXXX is inert in this state, and will not interact with its environment until it is doused or submerged in a solution containing ~80% or more water.

SCP-XXXX will undergo a rapid series of changes when submerged in water, in that it will begin to dissolve rapidly. When SCP-XXXX dissolves in water, the water shifts in color and viscosity, in that the water's color swiftly changes to resemble that of SCP-XXXX itself, while the viscosity increases. After approximately two minutes, all observable change abates. This liquid is designated SCP-XXXX-1. When an additional instance of SCP-XXXX is introduced into SCP-XXXX-1, the additional instance will not undergo more changes. SCP-XXXX-1 is observed to have a strong hydrophobic property, in that all additional water added to SCP-XXXX-1 will be separate from SCP-XXXX-1.

All non-biological objects dipped in SCP-XXXX will result in the creation of an instance of SCP-XXXX-2, which is visually and functionally identical to the template object. Discrepancies, albeit minor ones, can still exist between the template object and the result. Chemical analysis of SCP-XXXX-2 reveals that it shares the same unknown chemical composition as SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1. However, the addition of water to SCP-XXXX-2 will not result in any observable change.

The following transcript of the label was acquired from the shipping containers from which the first 215 instances of SCP-XXXX were acquired.

Biological effects of SCP-XXXX

SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1, when introduced into a living organism, will induce drastic changes within a short period of time. When SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-1 is introduced into a living organism, it will begin to induce hypertrophy in the mucous membrane it first came into contact with. Surrounding tissue will undergo apoptosis in order to provide space and nutrition to support the hypertrophic growth of the affected region. Eventually, the entire organism save for the hypertrophic region will undergo apoptosis. The affected region will stop growing when the affected organism dies.
