Special containment procedures: [Containment protocol revised; see Addendum 1] SCP - XXXX is to be contained in the center of sealed room with minimum dimensions of 8m in all axis, on a 4m tall podium. The hume level of SCP-XXXX is to be monitored and cataloged by two research personnel hourly. If the hume level exceeds 200 within the containment chamber site supervisors are to be contacted immediately and on site security are to be mobilised for a possible containment breach.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a spherical object with metallic rods originating from its surface in a tripod arrangement to allow it to be placed on a flat surface, with two further black rods attached to opposite sides of the sphere, one with a plus and the other a minus symbol engraved into the ends.
SCP'-XXXX's anomylous properties manifest when an electrical supply is connected correctly to the specified junctions and delivers over 50W of power, at which point SCP-XXXX will destabilise reality within a 3m radius of itself to a dangerously randomised level.
SCP-XXXX was first bought to the foundations attention after SCP-*blackedout* told researchers that 'something had changed' and when asked to elaborate, provided the foundation only with an exact set of co-ordinates. An MTF was mobilised, and the location was a farmhouse located in *blacked out*, spain. SCP-XXXX was discovered stood upon a workbench with the properties owner, *blackedout* deceased, half the corpse remaining, next to a pile of viscera and liquids. When analysed, the substance contained innumerable inexplicable substances, such as heavy water, dish soap, mercury and a new organic compound being used to research *blackedout*.
After entering the 3m radius of SCP-XXXX a MTF member was spontaneously transmuted into marble, before melting, then crystallizing, then dissolving, then finally violently exploding. A research team was sent in, only taking four hours to fully identify its anomylous properties of reality manipulation, but no progress was made in ascertaining a way to turn it off, as the power supply was inside the projected radius.
After six additional hours a member of the MTF discharged a round into the power supply on the orders of the research team in an attempt to nullify SCP-XXXX. This was successful, allowing the safe retrieval of SCP-XXXX. It should be noted for further research projects, despite the miniscule time the bullet was subjected to exposure inside the projected radius, it had entirely transmuted into a material similar to quartz once recovered.
Research into SCP-XXXX has been approved for research staff with clearance level 3 or higher, contact senior researcher Dr Minley at site 32 with proposals.
Addendum #1
Revised Protocol following incident Alpha with SCP-XXXX:
Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX is be stored in cabinet 4 in the supplies cupboard. It is to be kept locked whenever not in use, and when taken from storage the individual using SCP-XXXX must catalogue their name and the time, and catalogue the time it is returned to storage.
Under no circumstances is SCP-XXXX to be reconfigured by any personnel with a clearance level below 3, and prior approval must be obtained from Dr Minley beforehand.

SCP-XXXX is currently classified as MTF field equipment when dealing with anomalous reality altering events, similar in purpose to a scranton reality anchor but with significantly increased strength.
