Navigate The Story:
March 27th, 2048. That day started as a normal one for the foundation, meaning everything was only slightly haywire. All the anomalies amongst the vast halls of Site-17 were rather tame, demonstrating no will to fight, or else to cause a ruckus. Amongst the many staff within Site-17, none had qualms. Some joked about potential anomalies or else discussed their rapidly declining sanity. Very few did anything noteworthy at the time.
Josie was lying motionless on the ground, contemplating whatever came into a cat's mind, albeit food, water, playing, whatever it may be. Josie simply laid. No one paid any attention to Josie, beyond giving the occasional scritches to Josie's ear. Why they ignored the solemn cat wasn't a question.
It wasn't interesting anymore.
Such a simple cat, simply missing its buttocks, instead of hosting a void of space. Why did this was unclear, but did it matter? The cat was loved by all at the foundation, so no need to intervene. The cat began to ponder this thought, but as cats can't think this deeply, Josie quickly dropped the thought.
As Josie began to sit up and stretch, Josie wondered what it would be like to go outside. Little did the cat know, the outside was forbidden. However, the cut green grass provided too little Josie wasn't enough to calm Josie's nerves. Josie wanted to see what lay beyond those somber fences, what faces hide between those erected evergreen trees. Little did Josie know, the wish made by the small cat was about to come true.
However, Josie did not know this yet. All Josie knew was that it was time for them to get inside before the doctors take them in themselves. The doors would close soon, then they would make sleep happen once more. Josie didn't mind, Josie was quite tired. As Josie walked towards the building, Josie once more pondered the outside of that strange fence. Once more, the thought was just that.
A thought.
Shortly after, Josie lost track of what they were thinking. Regardless, Josie went inside and proceeded
to walk towards the strange corner in which Josie had adapted to best. Josie laid down, but then, quite suddenly, a familiar researcher came about. A small petite female by the name of Alice picked up Josie and took them to her office. Alice was in her favorite maroon coat. Josie was familiar with the office, alongside its strange design. A cat couldn't comprehend it, but a human could, and many judged Alice for it. Alice didn't care, she enjoyed what she enjoyed. Alice loved Josie for that reason. Josie would never judge Alice based on the room, Josie loved Alice for the love Alice gave to Josie, alongside the occasional cheese the Josie snuck to Alice.
Alice proceeded to put down the slender cat onto the ground, in a spot Alice knew Josie loved. Josie made themself comfy, then proceeded to lay down comfortably on the floor. Alice sat at her desk, unmoving. She was worried, but she didn't show it. She was simply waiting for time to pass. Only a bit more time.
Suddenly, head researcher Doctor Mariens walked in. Vis mysterious look was only fueled by his strangely buttoned-up coat. Why at that moment ve chose to walk in remains a mystery, however, vis news was quite urgent. Ve exclaimed that a breach had occurred from an unknown group, which Josie knew nothing about. Josie didn't care, but Josie wished to make ver feel better, so Josie cuddled up to vim. Ve kicked the cat away and lashed out the stress built upon this surprise onto the cat. Later on, ve would feel very sorry about what ve did, however, for now, ve was too stressed to care.
As Mariens got more stressed, the breach only got louder. Josie was scared and in danger. Josie didn't know what to do. But then a thought occurred to Josie once more. Beyond those evergreen trees, where could Josie go? Josie could get away from the loud bangs for sure, so Josie considered this thought. However, quite suddenly, a man dressed in all black burst the door down. Alice and Mariems ducked for cover. They hid, but were they hidden well enough?
They were, how convenient. They survived this strange man. Josie pondered these two people, both sitting next to each other, her hand in vers, both awaiting their inevitable demise. However, the little cat was not so lucky. It didn't die, but the strange man in all black picked it up and took it away. Josie panicked, but what could Josie do?
Josie could do something. Josie could scratch, Josie could bite, Josie could squirm. But the man's grip was too tight. He didn't feel the cat's grip in the slightest. Josie crumpled into a flop. What could Josie do to escape this strange occasion? The answer was simple.
Get help from a bigger friend.
Some strange-looking figure arose. It had no body. It didn't exist. It only existed to help Josie, and so it did. Josie couldn't recall the details, but the figure brutally murdered the man in all black. Josie didn't get to see it. Josie had to run.
Josie ran, and they ran. Eventually, a strange opening within the fence was spotted. The evergreen glades shook violently in the wind, and the crisp full moon shimmered within the sky. Josie knew what they had to do.
Josie left Site-17.
