Proposal for The Ashby Protocol

This document will refer to objects and entities under the Ashby Protocol as "Ashby Objects." The Ashby Protocol should be considered in the following situations:

Any researcher or MTF member may declare the Ashby Protocol over their assigned SCP. Once enacted, the Ashby Protocol proceeds as follows:

1) Any Foundation personnel under the alleged influence of the Ashby Object are considered lost. Foundation personnel under such an influence are stripped of their membership status for the duration of the Protocol. Any claims of Foundation association or personal identity are to be disavowed by Foundation personnel.

2) All communication with entities/effects within the alleged influence ceases immediately. As there are no Foundation personnel within the sphere of influence, no information that provides information about or confirms the existence of the Foundation is to be permitted for the duration of the Ashby Protocol. No attempt is made to extract any entity from the influence of an Ashby Object.

3) The Head Researcher, senior research team, and the individual who enacted the Ashby Protocol must meet within 24 hours and determine whether to uphold or cancel the Ashby Protocol.

4) Should the Ashby Protocol be canceled by the Head Researcher or higher authority, affected individuals are to be reinstated with their previously-held Foundation credentials and entitled to all previous benefits of their employment. No disciplinary action is to be taken against the enactor of the Protocol unless it is found that the Protocol was inappropriately activated.

While not obligatory, the Ashby Protocol provides a first line of defense against potential infiltration and coercion. Based on my own experience working with insidious and manipulative anomalies, I strongly recommend this Protocol be considered by personnel working with relevant SCP objects.
