ITEM#: 6[ ]
OBJECT CLASS: EUCLID

SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES: The primary entrance to SCP 6[ ] is to remain fenced off to maintain any civilians in the area a minimum distance of 15 feet away from the primary entrance, which must be guarded by 2 foundation personnel at all times. Any foundation personnel assigned to SCP 6[ ] are required to be tested for protanopia type color blindness prior to assignment. Foundation personnel guarding the primary entrance to SCP 6[ ] are to be equipped with security uniforms standard with that of [REDACTED] Airport, located in [REDACTED], one police grade taser per foundation member, as well as one security baton per foundation member to prevent entrance of non foundation personnel into the primary entrance of SCP 6[ ] by use of force if necessary. 4 additional foundation personnel are to be given the same equipment and are tasked with conducting hourly roves of adjacent terminals to ensure that no additional entrances to SCP 6[ ] have appeared based on airport schematics. If any new entrances are found, security measures identical to the primary entrance and the new entrance will be designated as SCP [ ] - 1.

Any individuals found to be within 10 feet of SCP 6[ ] - 1 based on security footage of the previous hour are to be temporarily designated as SCP 6[ ] -1A, taken to an off site facility to be interviewed by foundation researchers and kept in foundation custody for a period of 24 hours to be monitored for any anomalous cognitive effects of SCP 6[ ] - 1. If no anomalous effects manifest within the 24 hour period, individuals are to be declassified as SCP 6[ ] - 1A, prescribed a class B amnestic, and transported to their original destination by use of foundation resources.

If an individual begins to manifest anomalous properties consistent with the cognitohazard presented SCP 6[ ] or any instances of 6[ ]- 1, they will be given the designation of SCP 6[ ] - 2. Individuals under this designation are to be immediately sedated and restrained, and are to receive nutrition and hydration by IV drip. These individuals will remain in foundation custody and transported to an off-site facility in [REDACTED], for continual foundation monitoring and containment. Missing persons reports will be initiated and subsequently closed via the foundation in the individuals hometown if necessary to prevent excessive suspicion upon the disappearance of an affected individual.

DESCRIPTION: SCP 6[ ] and it’s subsequent entrances are unmarked doorways in Terminal B of the [REDACTED] Airport which were not present in the airports original construction plans and will appear at random locations along the length of terminals A,B and C, with a single, permanent entrance located between gates [tbd] and [tbd] in terminal B. All entrances are known cognito hazards to persons experiencing protanopia type color blindness with an effective range of approximately 10-13 feet around the primary entrance, and 5-8 feet around any instances of 6[ ] - 1. Effects of the cognitohazard will manifest in an individual after a minimum of 1 hour but no later than 24 hours after initial contact with the anomalous entrance. Affected individuals can be identified by a near insatiable desire to enter the doorway, the only means by which to stop an affected individual is through use of physical force. If an individual who is affected by protanopia color blindness is allowed to pass through the doorway they will enter an extradimensional space resembling an additional terminal wing of the airport which goes on for a seemingly infinite distance and is tinted an unnatural shade of orange. Planes can be observed both arriving and departing from the terminal, but no passengers appear to be present on any of the planes. No matter how many individuals pass through the doorway at one time, each individual will appear to be alone within the terminal and will be compelled to walk down the terminal until finding what they will describe as “their flight”, and board the plane. Any individual not affected by the specific color blindness who enters SCP 6[ ] or any of the secondary entrances will not enter the extradimensional space, and will enter a standard janitorial closet.

Discovery: SCP 6[ ] was discovered in 2003 when a family of 17 was departing for a vacation in the airport, ages ranging from 2-57 years old. 6 of the 8 men in the family were affected by the specific protanopia color blindness and began to move toward the primary entrance in terminal B, one carrying his daughter as he did so, another pulling his wife alongside him. Family members not affected by the cognitohazard grew increasingly distressed as the 6 male family members moved towards the doorway, one walking directly in the path of a courtesy cart which was forced to stop rapidly, drawing the attention of nearly all individuals in the nearby area. This caused an additional 4 people affected by the specific type of color blindness to be subjected to cognitohazard and be drawn to the main entrance. All 10 individuals managed to enter the doorway despite resistance from both airport security and family members. Despite the individuals entering the doorway being fully visible to the nearby observers, none of the observers immediately viewing the individuals entering the doorway can recall them actually disappearing. Each report details the individuals entering the space, followed by an identical statement from all observers that it was if the individuals each “stopped being.” The man carrying his daughter and the one pulling his wife both disappeared, causing the child to fall, when she was caught by her aunt. Both the child and her aunt appeared to be in an empty janitors closet. The story was aired on a local news channel, leading to its discovery by the foundation. This lead to a mass use of amnestics among the local population and the removal of the incident from any public or official records.
